I have a connective tissue disorder (hEDS) and until I got my new non-vintage machine, I did not realize how strenuous using the pedal was.

Oh how your sewing life will change!!! I purchased a Husquvarna Viking 1100 in 1996 or so. I made Heirloom sewing by machine, made it soooo much easier. Moved on up to the 1 plus and still use it almost daily. Of course now even parts are not availablr. Happy Sewing and have fun. If the threads tangle under the bobbin side check to see if lint is trapped under the plate under presser foot. The tiniest speck will create havoc but you are smart and will enjoy this machine.

Oh wow the outfit looks like a genuine 50's playsuit. Adore your embroidery motif. I too, love using vintage buttons on projects. I happen to find belt buckles made from balelite or maybe just plastic but are 50s. Of course thoight of you immediately. Sewing will be soooooo fun now.
Congrats on being a Janome maker, but you can also embroider on your Kenmore! Any vintage sewing machine will embroider as long as you have a darning or embroidering foot and you let down the feed dogs or use a cover plate. I’m so team vintage sewing machine. Hope you don’t permanently leave your mechanical machine for the digital, even though it was a lovely gift! ❤️
Thanks I have a darning foot for my kenmore and I’m familiar with free motion embroidery on vintage machines. I’ve done it before, but I’m not that great. I would never stop using vintage machines they are an extension to my hobby. I mentioned in the video that I would be using the janome mostly for embroidery. My content will remain the same, this machine will be a tool to enhance my work much like how I use the Cricut in some videos.
I did looooove seeing how the Janome took off and did the embroidery all by herself! ☺️ And you caught on to it so fast. 😍 Forgive me for being jumpy! It makes sense to have things like the Cricut and your new slick embroidery beast! Saves time and stress.

I love it! What a super cute outfit. I bought a Janone machine, a small one, it was very good. I gave it away to a co-worker who did not have a machine because I inherited two Bernina machines. The Janone machine I knew did great stitches, and for a small model did great work, but I have never seen the one you have. One of my machines is a 1630 IP, and does decorative sewing, and I too am overwhelmed by the accessories! But, I am just going to keep watching your channel. I love your sewing! So awesome. P. S. Like, the ultra-modern pragmatic equivalent of the fancy retro wooden one you have. One company made pink handled tools for awhile, so, maybe there is a dainty chest too? (I can't remember the name. The red ones that had the big red & steel sliding drawers auto &/or metal shop tools)

Thanks for watching! I will say this pattern runs small even for me. When I first made it (before I lost all my bust) it was very tight. Plus the way the halter/neck is sewn together is kinda tricky. It’s a beautiful top and worth figuring out b/c once you get it. It’s sews up so quickly.
Congrats on the Janome dealio! Your 'uniform' is super cute - especially the logo. Julia Child had a sort of uniform when she did her episodes of The French Chef back in the day and it involve a custom patch she wore on her blouse. Those stitches! Let's see you put 'em to use!

Your outfit you made is adorable. I am guessing based on the shine of your embroidery you used embroidery thread. I will give you a tip I found out years ago most people won't tell you if you don't like the shine of the embroidery threads or just want to make your work look more vintage cotton threads work on embroidery machines just fine.
