Awesome work as always. I like to connect all scenes from this demo into one big narrative from a single game. Etheral AI takes over earth, and pollutes it by building more factories, machines roam as sentries, the moon is reconfigured to birth humans used as fuel for the machines, one planet gives birth to the chosen one who will fight it all.....and yeah crazy ideas like that.
Yeah, the literal translation being "long gone" ("Hir" = "long", "aeth" = "gone"). Hiraeth is somewhere between homesickness, longing and nostalgia. That you can take the man out of Wales, but you can't take Wales out of the man. The way you feel about your first love in hindsight. Mother's cooking. How you remember your childhood years with the C64. All those kind of feelings and emotions. Of home, of the past, of where you spiritually belong. All wrapped up into a ball that the Welsh just call "Hiraeth".
Incredible demo! Whenever I see a demo like this I always imagine how I would react if I had watched it on my Commodore 64 back in the 80s!
agree me2
Would have creamed in our pants. haha
I so love C64 chip music. Maybe it's the Nostalgia, I dunno!
When the tune is that good 6:06 it's just the pure joy of listening to such a great piece.
Same here... 🙈
The eye reveal at 1:40 is cool

That's actually quite accurate!
Hiraeth… a Welsh word meaning “a longing for something, someone or a place”.
