The best is when other people are able to be comfortable in silence and just hit you with the “have a nice day” as they’re getting off. Nursing interview guy - just remember that these hospitals need you, you don’t need them. Most of the people on the panel haven’t worked on the floor for years and don’t have a clue. Most hospitals are dying for nurses and as a male you already have an advantage over 85% of interviewees. Remember the basics of nursing, think critically, know how to prioritize and talk about communication and working on a “team”. Smile lots, make eye contact and show them you won’t be a cancer to the units morale. Ask about patient ratios. Good chance you’ll get hired wherever you apply, regardless of your interview, hospitals are desperate rn. OR is where it’s at, avoid med/surg like the plague.
