REVIEW | Turkish Airlines A350-900 | SEA-IST TK204 | Economy class

- A new long-haul trip is completed, and today it's Turkish Airlines from Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) to Istanbul (IST) on one of their Airbus A350s (TC-LGP). I'm flying in economy class, seated in row 34. Since the trip was booked as an award ticket with another Star Alliance airline, we weren't able to select seats in advance, not even by paying for them.
Join us anyway on our eleven-hour flight from the North American west coast, crossing two continents all the way to Istanbul.
In the video, I show the United Club lounge at SEA, the aircraft, boarding, the meal service, and the IFE, plus a nice arrival in Istanbul, despite not having a window seat.
Any questions or comments? Feel free to leave a comment! Thanks for watching!

I travelled to JFK some years ago with Turkish. One of the best airlines in economy class. ☺️ Nice video.
Agreed! The food was surprisingly good. I have to try TK on shorter routes too and see if they live up to expectations there. And also - thanks! 🥳
Great review! No endless talking and straight to the point; you gained a follower!
Oh thanks so much! 🙏
I flew TK back in 2014 from New York to Istanbul, Istanbul to Tel Aviv, and return when my family and I were visiting Jerusalem. Excellent service on all flights.
That’s great to hear! Next up to try their A350? 😎
❤
I flew on this route, during check-in they offered me upgrade for my 2 seats - 45k turkish miles. It was the best 90k miles i spent on)
Those points sound like they were well spent! Our points are with another airline, otherwise, it would’ve been great to try that option.
Amazing! My flight is in 7 days on Turkish Airlines A350 from Seattle to Istanbul. I’m so excited!
I hope you get a really good trip! 🎉
Nvr seen your channel before but this is an awesome video...I fly often being 67 this year and retired last March and have been on a revenge travel post COVID and last year I flew 52 flights ard the world including 16 business class 5 premium economy and 2 first class 😅and I love it . This year it will likely be ard thirty flights and so I nvr flew Turkish before but am looking at going to turkey this Sept and SQ my country's airline on business is just over 6k sgd but on Turkish which is also a star alliance member is just about 4.4K so I may just Abt book for my first time on Turkish esp their business class product! And my first trip ever to Turkey! Thanks and safe travels! ❤
That sounds like an excellent idea! Turkish Airlines has a great reputation for their business class, so it should be a solid choice. And Istanbul is an absolutely fantastic city - we only had a brief stopover there, less than a full day between our Seattle flight and our connection to WAW, but it definitely left us wanting more. I’d love to try TK’s business class myself someday! Safe travels! ✈️😊
@@FlyingDryden thanks again ...yeah ...of cos I always love my national airline Singapore Airlines...pure excellence in service even in economy! Love to meet up one day ...cheers and safe travels ...already planned trips till end of May ...and planning for the rest of the year in progress 😂
I’d fly with THY more than 100 times, they are clearly best.
If you say! I would like to test their business class.
Windows seat is a must, no matter of the cost
Agree with that. This was an award trip booked with bonus points with another airline within the Star Alliance. It wasn’t possible to reserve seats with Turkish, not even pay for it.
@@FlyingDryden And you didn't have the option to choose your seat during online check-in? I think that should be possible?
No, we couldn’t even check in online in this particular case.
Nice crosswind landing!
😎
bro this is exactly what i was looking for same flight number same kind of seat thats crazy
Awesome! 🥳
❤TK
🥳
Oh i forgot you asked Abt window seats...despite being an avgeek myself and my late dad being a pilot ...of I fly economy I am always aisle and esp centre aisle...if it's a short flight like an hour or so then window but if it's business class seat it's always window!
Sounds like a very sensible approach to seat selection! I totally get the aisle preference for economy, but personally, I just can’t tear myself away from the window no matter the flight. :)
Despite my love for Singapore Airlines we don't have on board cams! But if you ever flew us...we pride ourselves in our service and products and for me esp in business class the satay on board 😂
Oh yes, I’ve tried SQ from ARN to SYD via SIN, as well as MEL-ARN via SIN. That was in economy class only, but overall, I was very satisfied. Feel free to check out my trip report from "your" A350. :)
@FlyingDryden yup the a350 is my fav aircraft and we are lucky we fly wide bodied aircraft even on short flights from Singapore such as to bkk or KUL or anywhere ard the region ...
I wish I had the same opportunities! Well. A320 tomorrow on my domestic flight to ARN . 😎
Lol yeah screaming kids well yeah I am with you on that front ...it's challenging indeed and btw even in business class or first class I am bad when it comes to sleeping on board and I ain't huge 😂
Yeah, I also struggle to get proper sleep on long-haul flights, and I’ve only done a few overnight flights in business class. The worst part is definitely when kids are running wild and the parents don’t seem to care - that’s truly the worst kind. ;)
What you get for their prices is hard to beat, they are definitely better overall airlines yes, but then don't complain about giving them some hundreds more than turkish airlines, honestly if you look at their price range, you will be satisfied for what you get
Well overall I liked what I got. Except not having the opportunity to choose my seat until the check-in desk. 🧐
Turkish has amazing meals and amenities, but their back end customer service sorely needs improvement. I tend to avoid them for that reason.
😬 Luckily I have never had a reason to be in touch with them (so far). Do you have any example?
I don’t agree with you actuallly they are best in service and in regards to safety
Actually, I did interact with their customer service at ARN a couple of times last year. The first time, they responded within 20 minutes. The second time, I had to remind them after one and two weeks.
Actually they are inconsistent in service, you can get good crew on some flights, you can also get grumpy crew on some flights too @@cihanzumret6534
Which connecting flight did you have? Did they automatically transferred your bags for you.Did you check in a bag?
Hi, we had a connection 24 hours later with another Star Alliance airline and yes, we had to pick up our checked luggage.
The noisy kids tho 😂
🤷♂️😂
@@FlyingDryden Noise cancelling headphones take the edge off kids doing this on long flights
My best travel gadget investment ever. 😎
Have booked seats 43B and 43C (last row). Do they have the same recline as other economy seats? Any feedback would be appreciated
I didn’t test the actual row but according to Seatmaps.com it might be limited recline on that row. If that’s a warning just because it’s the last row or any other reason I don’t know.
Was there a full power outlet at your economy seat or just a USB port?
Actually, I didn’t even notice that 🙈 but no, it seems that’s it’s just a USB-port in economy on the TK A350.
@ booo
Agree!
@@FlyingDryden evidently they only have them on economy on their A330 and B777 aircraft I hope they put more effort into installing those on the rest of them
Yes, I also read that. I didn’t even looked for it because I didn’t use my computer while on the airplane.
May I ask how tall are you? My boyfriend has 6’7 and we consider buying extra leg seat but it is a bit expensive 😂
Sounds like a good idea. I’m 5’5” (165 cm) so legroom isn’t a problem in the most cases. 🤷♂️😂
Meow 😻 meow 😻 how long was the flight ✈️ to the world 🌎 capital of cats 🐈 Istanbul.
Meow-tastic question! 😻 The flight to the feline capital of the world 🌍, Istanbul 🐈, was a paws-itively purr-fect 11 hours long. 🛫✨ Plenty of time to catnap and dream of endless cuddles and whiskers! 🐾🐾
@FlyingDryden How full was the flight ✈️ and did you finish in Istanbul, or did you do have a connecting flight ✈️ in Istanbul?
@Ahuntsicspotter The flight was pretty much full, but no grumpy whiskers in sight - just happy purr-sengers! 😺 Since we didn’t have a connection in IST until the next day, we took the chance to stretch our paws, groom ourselves, and dream of kebabs and catnip overnight. 🐾✈️
@@FlyingDryden You saw 👀 the cats 🐈 in Istanbul.
@Ahuntsicspotter Yes, I saw plenty of cats in Istanbul - lounging like royalty and owning the streets! 😻🐾
Is there wifi ?
Yes, it was on our flight but I didn’t use it.
