Citizens of countries in the west have got fed up with their politicians focusing on looking after foreigners and not their own people. The next several decades will be spent on rebuilding their own countries. Foreigners, students or otherwise, seem to have a sense of entitlement about the US. It's not their country, so they can't make demands of it. Just because indian students have been allowed in large numbers since the 80s, it doesn't mean that open state exists forever. They don't need anymore in their country. All countries have an adequate population, they don't need to take on more people from any other nation.
Stay in india. The schools are good. The economy is good. Since the 1960s UN migration records show india as the top nation whose people leave it for foreign lands. It's time to stop and reverse that trend.

Indian students go abroad to study with the aim of permanent settlement. Why would someone who couldn't be bothered to study in their youth suddenly have a wish to study abroad? When applying for a student visa it clearly states that you must have sufficient funds for your course fees and expenses. The Indians going to study abroad don't. They take out large loans by mortgaging property and land with the intention of working to pay iff the loan. Also indians mostly don't apply to study at good universities. How would the indians feel if a couple thousand foreign student came to india and demanded jobs and settlement? You people would all start protesting that foreigners don't have the rights to take your jobs. Guess what, that goes for all countries. You don't have a privilege right as every country has the right to put it's citizens first.

    Hi Nistha,
I’m currently studying at one of the top 40 universities in the U.S. in Boston, where I joined this fall with nearly eight years of corporate experience. However, the job market here is incredibly competitive-I've applied to over 200 companies, yet securing even one internship has been extremely challenging.
Having been in the U.S. for the past five months, I can say that the situation is quite concerning and scary. Perhaps this is why there’s a push to regulate the influx of talent. This is just my guess, but I’m sure you have much more insight as an expert.

    Hello Nistha,
Firstly, I have been following your videos for some time. Having lived in the US, you have hands on experience, and most topics discussed here are note worthy! Good work!
Secondly, on this topic on student visas, I'm sure you realize that an epic US election took place on Nov 6, 2024. There is a strong dynamic shift in voter sentiment. The mass population that voted Republican want to see changes from Biden administration, on the following key issues such as -
    1) Illegal immigration
    2) Student visas (perhaps to limit scholarships for rich country kids?!) (Mind you, India is no longer considered a poor county. As you are aware, it is the fastest growing economy in the world. In the eyes of the West, many F1 student visa holders from India can afford to pay up the whole tuition over time, without scholarships)
    3) Legal H1B Visas and Green card quota / wait-line, etc
I presume, many other changes are expected. So, with all due respect to potential F1 visa students, rejections were to be expected.
Unfortunately, there was a cause and here comes the effect!
Also, please remember, one is not entitled to a US visa, no matter how deserving the candidate is. It is their right, to offer the visa or reject it.

  • @Ikam215

I do not know where you are located. In india or abroad. But there is always uncertanity when you decide to leave your land. You have freedom to make choice but once you make choice to leave country you lose freedom and bound by any decisions given. If Usa or other countries do not allow or freeze F1 visas, there will be backlash too. As per F1 program policy, there is no limit on how many can apply or how many can be granted. I agree there should be logic in rejection but unfortunately its all in interviewers hand. On positive note, it did not happen at the port of entry. Immigration officers can reject entry though you have valid visa. If students are bright they will flourish in india as well.

Also there’s a ton of American students losing seats to visa applicants. While there appear to be spots for Masters for internationals we should give them to aspiring students here. I know of many students here (of Indian origin but born American ) who lost their seats due to the 3% quota for internationals which is almost taken up by only India. How is this fair? @@ScholarStrategyTV Because school business practices aren't regulated by US government.
Should our government regulate college business practices? Probably. But colleges have armies of lobbyists to prevent business regulations.
Also, different parts of US government have different goals. The goal of Department of Education is massive amounts of foreign students for colleges. But the immigration agencies' goal is to regulate immigration. Immigration agencies cannot instruct colleges on what to do. Only the DOE can instruct colleges on what to do.
The other issue is you have to understand the reality of US government. The government treats citizens the same way. They allow mass applications for business grants, education grants, housing vouchers, business loans - damn well knowing only a few will be selected.
It's best to think of US programs like lotteries. Whenever you apply to any US government program, you are basically playing a lottery.
Our government is the same way at the state level. Lots of people apply for private school vouchers, charter school enrollment, liquor licenses, food licenses, vendor licenses, building permits, licenses to sell fireworks, licenses to sell firearms - all of which involve application fees. Lots apply, few are selected, nobody is refunded.
If you don't like how our government operates now, you won't like how our government operates once you live here. This is the reality for US citizens.

If it is their privilege to shut us down, US is not the last option! Today I have 4 different visas for multiple countries including US where I can visit anytime! So be it. USA is not anymore the land of dreams! Make students understand this before sending them and help them give other options or gateways to succeed in life.

I figured this out long ago that US Visa System is Dumb AF! (JHOL).
First you pay shit ton of fees for your study abroad process then you have to go through this Dumb interview process like WHAT??
I'm better of that. That's why I wasn't interested in studying in US.
Finally after doing some research. I choosed germany where you pay quarter of the US study abroad fees to get your documents verified then all you have to do is get admission in a public university (In public universities there is no tution fees. You only pay semester contribution range from 100 euros to 500 euros). After that the visa approval percentage for germany is around 96% and the best part is you don't have to give a visa interview.

Am quite upset with the false rosy pictures universities paint to get hard earned money from Indian families. You should shed light on these important issues too and make sure that you are not spreading BS. This is happening everywhere and only with Indian students. Purdue University and with aid rejections. Where do you think the problem really is? After checking with many who are not just students, it looks like to do with politics. India is a very strong country and trying to hit them with BRICS and put its currency forward. And obviously they do not like it. I am not taking any sides but there are 2 sides for sure. Students from India side and going to a country on the other sides. Students pay lots of money to join school, but US seems to not care. It looks like they are ok to shutdown universities and keep their dollar pride. I dont know the economics of which currency is better to use dollar or rupee, but for sure students from India are trying to go to dollar land, right. India surely cannot tell US to stop using dollar. And its drifting away from it towards hitting them with BRICS and US is now hitting in every direction with their BRCIKS and its hitting our head. I will not be surprised if other western countries who US trades with, will also close doors. They will get their money imposing trade tariffs. And I am not sure what else is coming. Even people who have visas and trying for GCs are shting their pants, as I ready from the media and social groups. Check X, they talk about banning H1B and other visas. Dont kill messenger, I am just scraping all messages and media to assume this way. I may be wrong. I wish some softening of stand is required from the government. India is also getting lots of money from abroad. What happens if everything stops. There are very jobs here and media says 40% unemployment.

I got my visa rejected on dec 06 2024 for spring intake at university of Massachusetts dartmouth (Course Ms in Data Science). And their are literally no slots avaliable that I can make it before my college start date. can you please suggest me what to do . VO just asked me 2 questions like
    why this particular course ?
how are you going to fund your education ?

    • @ScholarStrategyTV
      @ScholarStrategyTV  17 дней назад +1

I’m really sorry to hear that. Hopefully, someone on the comments can offer some insights or suggestions.
Was she not convinced with your funding answer? That could be the reason. Try slots in another city.
I have heard that changing the consulate and reapplying worked for some people. Try it out and consult a visa expert if you have to. All the best!

Well said...get your Plan B. US policy makers, get your act together

    • @zamar2158
      @zamar2158 17 дней назад

US policy makers are making policies that benefit their own citizens. Also , at 330 million, the US has enough people. They don't need any more. Over the next several decades western countries and the anglosphere will begin to focus on their own people. They all have more than adequate population comprising indigenous and foreign born who are now citizens. They're going to be focusing on solving their own social and economic problems. The education industrial complex in these countries suffers from severe bloat - all that pork is going to be cut.
