I just found your channel today and i was really surprised because your videos are very nicely explained. Your like a pc veteran. Keep up the great work😀
Love your vids - I have fallen asleep to them so many times that I've learned a great deal about computing at the same time, and this is coming from an I.T. guy! I have a question for you: Do you only use phone OS or do you switch back and forth between Android and iOS devices? If you use both, I'm curious what you use to transfer your texts from Android to iOS (and back)? Currently looking into going back from Android to iOS and running into this problem.
I need your calming voice and clear information now more than ever! It doesn’t look like you handle Apple computers but my 2010 Mac Pro has finally crashed so bad I don’t have a clear idea how it will be fixed. Purchased not one but two USB boot drives from two separate sellers just in case one doesn’t work, I can see if it was just an issue with that one drive. If both don’t work… I dunno….
The long explanation: I bought a used 2010 Mac Pro a few years ago. I added my own third-party RAM, my own third-party graphics card and my own third-party SSD for a boot drive. The graphics card does not support the boot screen (Apple logo) so my monitor stays black until I get to the macOS login page. I just recently updated to Mojave. Everything has been working until I ran disk utility and it could not do a certain repair on the boot drive. I went into recovery mode to try and unmount before running the installer, it gave me an error saying something about it being unrepairable. I thought I could completely erase the drive and reinstall the OS (High Sierra or Mojave I didn’t care). First I BACKED UP just my important personal files/apps…. The erase worked. Then it asked me if I wanted to continue with the operating system install, I clicked yes. The installation almost completed but it gave me an error that installation couldn’t finish. I hit restart and when the computer tried to reboot….. it stayed on the black screen. Never went to the login screen. I swapped out my third-party graphics card with the original graphics card since the original graphics card displays the boot screen. Sure enough, when I did that, the boot screen was showing the dreaded folder with a “?” And that’s where I have been stuck ever since. I’ve tried rebooting with Command-R, just Command and Command-P and R (but apparently Mac Pro 5,1 doesn’t support internet recovery.) Nothing works. I always get the question mark folder. Only thing I can do to not show the question mark folder is to hold Command not before but immediately when I hear the boot chime. The folder doesn’t show up, it’s just the grey screen and also my mouse cursor which never shows up in any other way that I boot up. I am so desperately hoping that I will see a boot drive doing this when I plug in the USB boot drive I purchased online. It’s the fact that there is no more question folder and that’s the only time I actually see my mouse… hopefully the computer is actually well enough for me to choose a boot drive once a boot drive is actually there. Until then, I’m going to be sick!
You're correct, I don't do Macs, but sometimes problems are similar (to an extent). In other words, trying to solve the problem by process of elimination. For example, if both drives don't work, the problem will be something else. I probably can't help much more than that as my knowledge of Macs is a little on the slim side. Good luck though.
@@EasyPcRepairs Thank you so much! Well, for anyone on the absolute edge of their seat with my issue... the boot USB drive... WORKED! I thought the main drive may be dead forever but I was able to instal High Sierra on it again and I'm currently in the process of moving all my files back!
As someone from Norfolk, your accent sound very familiar (albeit only subtle)! Have you ever lived in Norfolk or anywhere in east Anglia as a whole by any chance?
Hello, I have a question. I have a pc with an HDD in it and it's full of games and other stuff but I want to move that HDD to another motherboard would I have to wipe the HDD Comply or reinstall all the games have on it.
Yes, changing motherboards requires that you wipe your hard drive clean and reinstall everything. There is one exeption... changing a broken motherboard for one that is the same make and model motherboard doesn't require wiping the hard drive.
There are ways to clone Windows 10. You can use Windows 10's own backup, which puts your entire drive's contents into one file ready for cloning, or for simply backing up. To do this, type in the Windows search box "control panel". Next, make sure "Large Icons" is selected in the top right of the screen. Then choose "Backup and Restore (Windows 7", then "Create a system image". From there, follow the onscreen instructions.
That depends mostly on two things... what types of games you're wanting to play (AAA titles, easy to run titles, or somewhere in between) and the resolution that you want to play in. For example, if you want to play games with high end graphics at 4k resolution then you would want to buy the best graphics card you can get. But if you want to play E-Sports games (easy to run) then a much cheaper graphics card will do the job.
There will be a video going up in the next few days. It's one from last year that I hadn't got around to editing at the time. Better late than never I guess.
Hey man could you make "playlist" on your channel? I'd like to just put it on and play for a bit longer than 5 minutes without clicking for new vid every time.
You're not fooling anyone, we know what you're doing.
And we like it.
Never knew of any of this, I'll definitely use the postpone updates trick
Yes, it can be very useful at times.

Thank you! I haven't switched between Android and iOS so haven't come across that particular problem.
Where'd you go man?!? Also, I never knew the windows+D trick... Use it ALL the time at work now... Thanks 😁
Yes, the Windows + D trick is a useful one to know. I'm still here most days answering any questions people have.
Great video :) thanks for the tips!

I've never lived in Norfolk, but you're not the only person to ask me that. Perhaps I have a similar accent.
hello sir my computer is having a strange malfunction that i believe is easily fixable but i dont know how to do it is there a way i could get help
Dude, do you know about the unintentional ASMR video about you building a pc that has literally millions of views?
How about a video about ways to get your old, slow laptop to be faster and better useable?

@@EasyPcRepairs True True… what’s the videos going to be about?
Comparing an old PC to a modern PC. Should be up on Sunday if all goes to plan.
What screen recorder was used for this video?
I used 'Bandicam' to record the computer screen.
