His setup isn't right but IT IS 1000 HP, he has some serious boost lag tho, it may get 1000hp on a dyno, but it needs a good anti lag system before it can perform right in a drag.
sounds like the gearing is too narrow to take advantage of the power band of this turbo. Seems soon as it hits proper boost, its time to immediately change gears VS holding the power in that range longer... The camshaft profile may be better suited too. Or maybe its just not the right car?

The turbo takes so long to spool up its bogging between 1st and 2nd. you need an ecu controlled blow off valve to keep some boost pressure between gears.

His shifts aren that bad but the clutch releases too slowly. I think this is still a setup problem. The engine also looses boost during the shifts indicating that gearing may be less than optimum. He's not great, but I agree this car isn't finished.
4wd is about traction and acceleration. I'm not saying it is built for corners but it definitely wasn't built (or at least geared) for this. Still a fckn beautiful car doe 😍

I would say, it's about time to twin-charge your engine with a compound charge setup... Add a supercharger like lancia did to the delta s4 and you can say goodbye to its turbolag! ;-)

It’s the driver. Turbo lag is inexcusable even if he’s running a large single turbo which I believe is the case. The power to weight ratio is unrivaled and with AWD he can lose traction for a few moments but it’s recoverable, you won’t just be spinning your tires through the gears. But I do presume that a 1000 horsepower car that weighs less than 3000 pounds, is quite a violent ride.
I love audi´s and this car is awesome... however, it just does not work. Turbo is way too big or lag is too much. on less than 12 sec stint, car is waiting for at least 4 seconds for turbo boost, that is silly. With a turbo that fits for a 700-850 hp + proper adjustments car would be faster? Unless there was something else happening in this video which i am not aware of.
+Johnny Shitpeas the huge lag presents him with a big problem. he basically has to let it slap off the limiter in 1st to avoid dropping it off boost. also 2nd gear is much longer than 1st so he also drops it off boost on the up change to 2nd you can clearly hear this on every run. I reckon he'd get better times with a smaller turbo with less lag and also lower rpm spool up, anti lag would also help
That 1st to 2nd gear transition just kills it as it comes off boost.
It's because the ratios are too wide I reckon, transmission not set up to keep it in the power band.
