Yes it's not bad! But it's still not perfect. If you notice at the beginning, when the car is cold, the transmission holds the gears longer. Then when the car is warm the gears change sooner. I think I need to do one or two ATF changes, because I only did one ATF change since I got the car. To replace all the fluid, more than one drain-and-filll is required. I might do that in the winter time.
It’s a great feeling isn’t it . I get in my 740i with absolutely no intention of a destination just man and machine can’t wait for spring to go on some longer runs still got some suspension sorting up front to work out just being lazy lol
Hey you haven't been lazy, you put a lot of hours in your car! A lot more than me lately that's for sure! It's nice to go on drives just to enjoy the car. Sometimes I'll make a scenic loop just to grab a coffee at Tim Hortons (sort of like Starbucks in the US).
@@ClassicBMWFanInQuebec I’ve been to Tim Hortons years ago in the buffalo area in Ny great coffee !!! I think that’s kinda what I’m doing now is just enjoying the car because it took so much to get it here. The front struts aren’t super urgent I think that’s why I’ve been putting it off it’s cold out and even with heat in my garage and my lift the ground is still cold really cold lol
No it has not happened to me. The only issue I have are delayed shifts when the engine is cold (gears are held too long) and occasional hard shifts. A first step would be to ensure that there is enough ATF in the transmission.
Classic BMW Guy In Quebec okay got it. I changed the transmission fluid and the filter. Mine happens when it is cold. It may be a solenoid or something like that in my case. I'll put it in reverse but the gear won't shift.
Love the sound of the M30. I have taken my 735il on 200 mile trips and it’s a joy. I see the prices are climbing for these cars.
M30b35 sounds so great when accelerating
Yes it sure does. My exhaust is a bit too loud but it still sounds nice.
Sounds best with manual transmission that allows higher revs
I am looking at the car behaviour when it shifts, its smooth as a butter considering its 30 years old

My 735iL sometimes doesn't reverse when I shift it into that gear. Has that ever happened to you?
