Been checking for this update, so thanks! That’s one beefy bracket. The need for that lets us know just how much torque that box is susceptible to. Funny.. all the way up to the 7 mins and something mark, I was thinking “wrap that line with hose”, and then you did it. Lol! I know the braiding is pretty strong, but why risk it. Great minds think alike. Great use of those unusual vice grips to gently bend and shape the lines. I would guess that it is good to go between the new tolerances and the cushioning layer of the rubber hose. Time will tell, but I too would feel all set with the way you engineered everything.
@@bobjackson4171 Thanks. I think it’ll be fine. There’s a good 1/4” of clearance for the brake line and it’s not like any of that moves much. Yeah, the steering box is super beefy and I’m glad I got the bracket, especially given the age of the car and how the frame welds are not along every inch of the seams.
Those brake pipes are mounted further aft on the newer C3`s. Underneath the master cylinder. Don`t know why they moved it back then, but it made it easier to mount the Borgeson steering box in my 1980. But the sidepipes really got in the way during the installation. I`m happy with the Borgeson steering box. I really like the faster steering ratio. I had a lot of slop in the steering with the old steering box and most of it is gone now. I still have the original control arms with very little caster so I`m planning to upgrade the upper control arms. Hopefully this winter. It just doesn`t feel right when the steering is centered. Hopefully that is just because of the lack of caster in the suspension. There is no play in any of the joints in the suspension.
@@janthom91 Sounds good. I have all Global West A-arms and sway bar, so I should have a few degrees of caster already. I’ll make sure that all gets addressed when the final alignment is done.
Glad to see you got the box but I can see that you are not using the the frame reinforce bracket with box. Can you please tell me why thanks. Nosale 🙏🏾
Beefy bracket with nice gusset.
Moving right along Kalani....looking good and worth the effort....😁😁👍😎
@@Toms-C3-C4.Corvette...WorkShop It’s getting there! I’ll be tackling the steering column when parts come in. Wish me luck!
@thedrivewayC3 it will turnout just fine....looking forward to the steering rebuild....😁👍👍

Looks good, and you don't have to use the factory hydraulic cylinder and all the hoses.
@@gregpiecuch3802 Exactly-It seems like all I see about those systems is how much they leak!
