For my first video I'm posting The Room Where it Happens from Hamilton. When I was at Interlochen for the musical theatre workshop we did this song and I played Thomas Jefferson.

DaniWillRock I couldn't figure out why I didn't like what was going on around Burr. Now I realize that it wasn't the dancers; it was because the choreography was a bit strange to me. 😂 It's like they're trying to bring ballet to hip-hop... In some cases, it can be quite inventive. In this case, it made everything feel awkward. But the effort was there. The singing was spot on, though. (:
@@hannahrose8175 the choreography was almost exactly copied from the show, tbh as a dancer it seems like the dancers just weren't the most skilled. when they did kicks and stuff the technique just wasn't there
I honestly think Daveed would have congratulated the girl who played Jefferson because she nailed it. Also, the dude who played Burr, I mean damn. He was really good.
Honestly all of this was quite good. I was seriously impressed except for the Alexander Hamilton actor wasn't very good at singing, but he had the hair down.
Burr's vocals were good, but staging lacked a bit of the passion Burr's words are expressing as the song progresses (too small). I could have used a tad more energy and volume from Hamilton. Both Madison and Jefferson are great. Especially Jefferson. The ensemble vocals were great!!!
Damn. Burr was really good, the ensemble slayed me, and I A D O R E female Jefferson, who to me embodied all of the sassy perfectly. Honestly though, the ensemble. You all are amazing.

Hamilton was mid af. It actually kinda pisses me off how far he is from the rest of the cast’s level. Is it standard to have Hamilton be the black sheep a la Lin Manuel? that would actually be quite humorous if that was the case

When the performer playing Burr said "No!" That growl has just like capitavitated my mind... Well now he was just able to get all the emotion and the right volume/vocal control for all parts... Guys... I think I'm in love...
Give your lead some emotion that the audience will connect to, not just your supporting cast! It only takes a little, as each crew (but not cast) I work with says.

Burr was perfect (I had just watched the original beforehand), Jefferson had a TON of sass, and the ensemble was surprisingly accurate on most occasions for pitch! Timing was off in a few cases, but all in all, I loVED IT!
when hamilton said when you got skin in the game you stay in the game but you dont get a win unless you playin the game. . . he really could have leaned into that a bit more. i feel like he hesitated.
This was fantastic, I especially loved the ensemble's choreography! Aaron's actor was super great at capturing the emotion of the song, and you did fantastic as Jefferson!
Something in particular I loved was the part where it goes "and you'll provide him his votes? We'll see how it goes" "No. (one else)" A lot of covers just have Aaron singing the chorus when he says 'no' but having him saying it in response to Jefferson and Madison's conversation then the ensemble continuing on despite his protests really fit the song's meaning more, and a lot of times it's not captured in other performances. Great work on this!!
You were awesome as Jefferson. Of course, Burr really stole the show, probably the best recording I've heard of those two parts over all. Just amazing.
Long story short, I owe this video my whole Hamilton phase. This was the very first video I watched of it which made me absolutely fall in love with the musical itself, and the Broadway industry. This one video changed my life. Isn't that kinda crazy to think about? I am so happy you posted this because it helped me find out who I was and I discovered a thousand more friends waiting for me on the internet. Thank you again.

I got to go and see Leslie at Jazz Fest this year and he sang the room where it happens and it was AMAZING he was so into it. He was jumping around on stage! He’s an amazing performing
