again it´s Charlie to the rescue. learned so much from your theory videos, but since what i lack is the ability to create what i want fast and consistently in my synths. i just discovered syntorial and was on the fence of getting it. i am not on the fence anymore. if you endorse it, it´s not snake oil. thank you so much for all your educational vids.
haha thanks a lot for the trust! :) I actually like Syntorial, that's a rare instance where I was the one who reached out to the creator to make a video with it and I was not disappointed with what I've tried. Even on those first 10 chapters, the challenge was already great and i see it as a great training to translate the sound you have in mind to a synth preset. I think i actually should try the next chapters on video, you'd see me struggle a lot 😅
Great to see you do some of these. Do the sounds get more "famous" as you progress theough the tutorials? Like this is great but making uninspiring sounds for hours on ends can get a bit tedious, I'm hoping they eventually have you do like an Acid lead, a lush synthwave pad, risers, impacts, a gritty 808, dubstep wobble, a techno arpeggio, bass plucks, etc.. things you would actually want to use in your music.
I don't know if the sounds really get more "famous", but what I can say is that they get more complex, and you do develop your ears enough to recreate those famous sounds by yourself. For example, to recreate a 303 acid type of sound, I hear either a Sawtooth or a square waveform, a low pass filter with a high resonance and with a filter envelop on it (with instant attack and no sustain, just play with the decay/release). Then the amp envelope should be the same as the filter envelop but with more sustain, and there's legato+glide on certain notes. Hope that helps!
As a lifelong musician, and customer service/tech representative I have an amazing ear for mimicking what I hear. My problem is not having an ability to earn money to support myself. 😢 I am a tremendously wasted talent.

Syntorial is the bomb and they just updated it 🤙🏽🔊🖤
Been using syntorial for some time now, i think i am at chapter 7, great way to learn synthesis. Fun to see you do it!
Please continue with these series!
Duly noted 👍
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I'm keen to learn more.
Syntorial is amazing!!!
Great demonstration of the learning process. Thank you!
Magnifique !
C'est exactement ça dont j'ai besoin 👍
I really enjoyed following along with you. New Subscriber! 👍
A very nice video, I very much enjoyed watching this.

With enough practice you could do speed runs of patches
Love the idea !
Tu peux faire du contenu pour les francophones stp ? 🥲

L école de la modestie !!! ... bravo
i like this, i would watch more videos like this. too bad the app/synth are so pricey. out of my price range
Sometimes there is a big discount, almost 50/40% definitely worth the wait! Love this program.
J'ai stopper direct la vidéo a 2:05 et je suis allez faire les exos

Its like everything you gotta do a thing push it, refined it, get help and knowledge to make it work (like marketing for example)
Why equate money with talent? What earns money is not necessarily practical or valuable. Cashing money through musicianship seems flawed also.
