I just realized sth watching this... It wasn't like Jiang Cheng hating or being annoyed with Wei Ying as a person, it was that he hated and was annoyed with him for leaving him for others and them not being as close and brotherly anymore after visiting the Cloud Recess... He was just very jealous to not have his brother by his side any longer and then all of the shit happened and they never got around to mend what was broken and lost, and knowing this hurts so much...
Nah, he didn't hate wwx at all. He was sometimes a bit annoyed by his carefree nature, but all siblings are like that. I agree, it's sad that their path went like this. In episode 27 I think there's a scene at jinlingtai where he sees his sister get closer to her husband. You can clearly see on JC's face that, from that moment, he is truly and utterly alone. And he realizes that. And it scares him, hence he tries to go back to wwx one more time hoping he will give up the Wens and come back with him. It's really heartbreaking, for both. I just wish that instead of putting up the facade they hated each other, JC would side with wwx. together side by side clans would think twice before attacking wwx. At least, in my head canon that is. edit: I mean, think of how badass jc was as clan leader and adult. It would have been so cool to see him side with wwx. Jc with Zidian and wwx with his flute and fighting skills beating up everyone who talked shit about them and the wens. and jc might even not care about his bros relationship with lwj, cause he has lxc XD another edit: mxtx: dream on gall, dream on me: but bro love is important and badass mxtx: nah, breaking hearts is more fun to do. I didn't fully read the novel, so idk if it's confirmed whether jiangs just took him in (foster parents), jiangs aknowledge them as their stepson, or actually legally adopted him (if legally was required in ancient china). I guess maybe senior brother would have been a better way to describe them.
