- In this video Kelly will be showing you how to start Brick Stitch with a two row method. This is a method made popular by Diane Fitzgerald in her book Beading with Brick Stitch. This is a great way to start the stitch if you’d never tried it before. Kelly will be showing you how to know where to start on the pattern, how to do the method, and then how to make a simple pair of heart earrings.
The pattern can be found for free here: offthebeadedpathbeadstore.com...
The pattern for the longer heart earrings can be found here: offthebeadedpathbeadstore.com...

This is an amazing way to start your brick stitching instead of using a bulky ladder row, and I think it reduces the bulk, so that your thread bridges don’t show at that row. I’m doing a lot of brick stitching (new to me this month ) so I needed this. This has made my day, thank you so much.
Thank you Kelly for being such a wonderful teacher!
I love this "new" way of starting brickstitch! So much easier than the ladder way and it looks nicer! Thank you for this fun pattern Kelly. I will definitely enjoy making one!
Please give Darlene my deepest and sincerest condolences to her and her family about her son. So hard losing a child especially to a disease that's incurable. Give her hugs and my love and I hope I can hug her in May when I come to the retreat. I will pray for her and her family to stay strong and get through these difficult days. ❤❤❤ Thank you so much Kelly!
This is a great video Kelly! I've been doing my starting brickstich this way forever, don't know how long, but so much easier than just the ladder stitch. Thank you for the heart pattern, gonna make them now...
These are adorable 🎉
Thank you for ALL the research you do, and for passing the fruits of that research on to us!!
Thank you Kelly for sharing all your knowledge and patterns. You have the best videos!
So glad to see such cute earrings and they’re early enough for me to make gifts for my family! Thank you so much!
Thanks so much for showing this technique. I’ve never seen it before!
Love your teaching style Kelly!❤
I’m new to this and haven’t made anything yet! But these heart earrings are so cute, and look very easy! Thanks for a great tutorial!
Thank you for this tutorial and pattern. So sweet!
10:30 thank you so much. Your tutorials are wonderful
I am so wanting to learn this Thank you ❤❤❤🙏🏻
Love the hearts !!!
Really cute. I love it!
Thanks Kelly..I would love to see the earrings you are wearing!
So cute!
I don't think many youtubers explain and demonstrate as well as you Kelly. Brick stitch looks so lovely made up as a main feature. Usually i have seen it with tassel earrings. ALSO, Miss Dale, where do you find the beading books?? Thanks Kelly.
Thank you! I’ve been a beader for 23 years and I used to buy every beading book that came out. Since the major book houses no longer produce beading books the best way to get them in through used book sites or amazon
So pretty! I like using peyote stitch to start my brick stitch projects. It is a much cleaner start without the reinforcement thread I used when starting with a ladder stitch. Have a happy week!
Awesome
Kelly, Thx as always! I have been starting brick stitch this way for quite awhile. It is really the easiest way.
Thank you so much Kelly! These are super cute little hearts! I like leverback earrings too, and have you tried the interchangeable ones? That way you can use the same earwire for all of your assortment of holiday earring charms!
I have and they are good.
I was wondering about the 2nd method too, because it looks like base for square stitch ;) Maybe it's something like two rows ladder base? End when you can attach a clasp in bracelet 🤷♀
I love these. You are so awesome to donate to alpha-1 my sister has it. I'm lucky that I don't, they say it's inherited by one of your parents.
What size and what brand of wire guaards do you use? So cute!
I use these: offthebeadedpathbeadstore.com/findings/wire-protectors/
Pretty gold ring! Is it peyote stitch? I can’t see the detail in the video, but it is very pretty!
It’s a mixture of peyote and right angle weave
What type of thread did you use & size , as well as other. I saw your video on Dragon thread. If it is Dragon thread what size?
You can use any thread you'd like. Any will work.
Kelly can I made this earrings with 15/0s beads?
Sure
Do you sell the beads you used? I tried it with some seed beads, but I think they were too round. I'm new to seed beading.
Yes on my website
