For future reference i'd recommend putting the O ring on the filter and then using that to push it up into the hole, looks like you might have marred the surface with the screwdriver.
Also note if the fill plug is to tight you can fit a 16 mil hex but not a 12 point (as it’s easier to round off!) And get a breaker bar it will give you better leverage and fits this ensures you that you will not strip the bolt, it can be over tightend don’t over tighten them just snug and little bit torque is good enough. Good vid👍
Yep, I had to do this. Someone had already slightly rounded the 16mm head with a 12 point so I was worried I wouldnt get it undone. I used a 6 point impact socket and was able to remove it and using a breaker bar. It was still so ridiculously tight.
if someone butchered the fill nut (Seen it 100 times) go to the radiator and remove one of the trans cooler lines and fill from there ,(hope no one butchered them )
Very informative. Bravo! How many jacks do you have the car on? Or are you over a pit in a mechanic’s shop? You didn’t warm up the auto transmission oil before pumping it in? Some others say to do this, change gears while pumping the oil in , and have engine running etc ? What do you think about that ?
G'day, Thank you for video. Any chance you can do a video on an 1998 EL FALCON SEDAN please. Also how to change Alternator, power steering pump and air-conditioning condensor. I don't have a manual and Ford charge like wounded bull, therefore, changing these components myself thus saving money. Many thanks.
You don't ! All newer cars including Ford and Holden (Chevy) do not have a trans filler at all ! You can't just fill it there is a strict procedure , the 6L80e in 2007 6 Litre and onwards to change fluid you must drop the trans pan , tip it out , then replace pan, pull the plug on the bottom of pan ( this is not a drain plug it a test plug , when correct fluid amount is in it dribbles out) but first pull the small rubber bung on side of trans, put the car on a stand absolutely level , get under car while someone is in car with engine running ! Trans fluid must be 86 deg to 94 only ! When your tipping in the bung hole the driver must be at 1000 rev with foot on brake , then also foot on brake going through gears ( all of them) while watching trans fluid temp must not exceed 94 deg , then watch tipping in till it finally drips from bolt on bottom of pan ! Keep engine running , put bolt and bung back in and turn car off if it hasn't killed you , that is the factory only method for a 6 Litre WM Statesman and do not think the procedure is the same on other GM cars with the same trans , a Camaro has the same trans but it must have trans temp of 92 to 101 , they do this so you must take to a mechanic !
can i ask how 3rd world Indians in mass are coming into Australia? whats Australia giving you? a house? money in the bank? new car? it just doesn't add up when Australians cant always buy a house and we have mass immigration from India coming in and getting new houses? just very curious if your willing to answer? with no prejudice intended just it doesn't make sense coming from such a poor country
They come in because the Aus gov(all three main parties) want them in ; for their own reasons. Who do you vote for? Tell them your thoughts and watch them hide. Tell your friends to put the hard word on all their elected members. BUT, this is not the place for discussing this. We are here for car help.

For future reference i'd recommend putting the O ring on the filter and then using that to push it up into the hole, looks like you might have marred the surface with the screwdriver.
Good point. I will remember that .
Correct fluid "TQ95" castrol do not use anything else

Many thanks. You saved me a lot
After filling transmisson up what do you do to get fluid through gearbox, go through gears or drive or what?
Yes you should drive through the gears
Great video
What torque is used on the studs? Thats what I want to know.
It appears he did it on feel alone no torque wrench used
6nm I seen somewhere

Ok mate
Thanks man
Nice video :) How did it go with the Penrite product? I think its Castrol TQ 95 from factory unless its been changed on yours?
tq 95 is genuine one
normally I'm using penrith
u can use both
thanks
Castrol TQ 95 is the recommended oil, but I'd imagine Penrites semi-synthetic and full-synthetic range would last a bit longer
In South Africa we use RAVENOL BTR95LE shell out some coin on the oil but it is worth it@@carfix1993
After placing new pan gasket, insert bolts
great video man, do you know if this is same for EF EL?
It should be similar
What about Ford xr6 2012 please? Where do we refill it from?

Ok
Great work mate
O man always put the o rings on filter itself
How many litres need to fill up?
Normally 6 to 8 L
6-8L is that on the oil change or full transmission oil change, as i have read it is under 5L
@@carfix1993
Fill it, through the fill plug, till it overflows out the fill plug
Measure how much you took out
