Drawing a Huge Mandala (400x Speed Edit)

  • This big poster-sized mandala took around 30 hours, and I used pigma micron pens. It's easy to get into a bit of a meditative state with this type of art, getting lost in the patterns and various repetitive lines and shapes.
    The idea is that you can take any shape, and if you repeat it enough times, it can turn into a pretty pattern. It's fun to try creating your own new patterns this way. I don't say that I create a bunch of revolutionary patterns in this drawing, but sometimes it's also interesting to see the different way you can layer them together.

      I rounded up a little, it's probably really like 375x and the last 10 or 15 seconds of the video is just a picture, so you have to take that into account.

    This artwork to me represents the behind the scenes of the reality we know! Each wheels a code that interlinks another weaving in and out where and when it needs too. When I look into this! I feel like I'm looking deep into my own self. and finally, I have found an artist who seems to be the only person to finally speak the language that I understand.

    I have a theory where if you're listening to a certain musician you draw how you feel the music sounds. Or does that not make sense?

      It makes a considerable amount of sense. I've listened to Techno music and tend to feel like I have a lot of energy. Maybe I should draw when I listen to it...
      Also, when it comes to being weird, I have some experience with this... I eat various foods in ways that people just don't expect. XD

    really late, what do you use when drawing/doodling (excluding pencil)I already use the pencil too much and i sometimes dislike the smudges however ive seen these amazing artworks done in pen so I just grabbed a normal ol' office pen an messed around and I liked the style of the lines so im looking for the pens you use the big lines that you use to fill in space the medium to make a line pop and slim to draw fine lines and a tiny for tiny details and minimized shading

      He did mess it up. He even admits to it. He also incorporated his mess-up into the piece so that it looks like it was supposed to be there all along. Like he said, you can't see where he messed up because it's everywhere in the drawing.

  • @alliecat1941
    @alliecat1941 10 лет назад +3

    Are all the patterns you are drawing.in your piece.your copyrights? if not.how do you sell it?.Do you have to get permission from the designer of a particular pattern you are drawing in that,?

    • @peter_draws
      @peter_draws  10 лет назад +22

      I have.... never thought about that. Personally, I don't think you can copyright a pattern... at least not in a drawing like this. I dunno. Maybe it's more about how all the patterns come together to create a finished piece. For this, I didn't get any of these patterns from anywhere else, I just created them as I went.

    • @alliecat1941
      @alliecat1941 10 лет назад

      ***** Well ive gotten some information from the Zentangle community..and there is over 1000 patterns(designs that are copyrighted..and they ask you not to sell anything with those copyrighted designs without permission of that person who made up that.particular design. So right now at this moment almost anything.that resembles a design that is copyrighted..i guess there would be trouble..from what i hear.I guess i should find out more about it. I make jewerly and draw simlar designs that are like the copyrights..not sure if i could sell them or not.

    • @SternenstaubBuchblog
      @SternenstaubBuchblog 10 лет назад +6

      A tiny difference is enough to turn it into a new design... That's how chinese ppl do it... They copy a copyrighted picture and just change one thing like add a bird or a tree... And that's it. So they can sell it and the original painter has no chance to do anything against it... Sad but true.
