- Yes, the Looney Tunes are back with a kart-racing game... Er, again. Indeed, this time we're taking a look at Looney Tunes: Space Race, initially released for the Dreamcast and later released under the simpler title 'Space Race' for the PS2. This game represents something of a hidden gem in the Looney Tunes video game canon. As was the case with Sheep, Dog 'n' Wolf, this game doesn't get nearly as much appraisal as some other Looney Tunes games, including its PS1 sibling Looney Tunes Racing, released the same year. It suffices to say it's far from one of the worst entries in their video game catalogue, but the biggest question is, how does this release measure up to its PS1 counterpart? My guess as to why the year 2000 was so heavily focused the Looney Tunes in space was likely just because "Space Jam" was a massive hit.
This also crossed my mind.
Never got to play this as a kid because the disc was scratched up. Fast forward years later and i'm gonna be running it in 1080p with the magic of emulation

Funny how the character you showed sacrifice themselves at the beginning of the game is Wile, I can so see that happening to him or Daffy.
Also I think Pepe, like Johnny Bravo is a fun joke character.
Wow what are the odds of this. I just got finished releasing my latest test folder that features my hand-drawn Looney Tunes racers to SRB2Kart (Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart). This test folder I've made features even more racers the two Looney Tunes racing games never had such as Speedy Gonzales, the bull from "Bully for Bugs" and just recently Squeaks from the late 2010's iteration of the series. And it's all thanks from your inspiration.

LTR was my jam as a teen! I never played Space Race but I heard it was too brief and it didn't control well. Pretty much exactly as you described it. Also I feel you on the whole Pepe le Pew 'controversy' and I still haven't forgiven Warner Bros from excluding him from the most recent Looney Tunes media.

Got this video through the algorithm, but I think that throughout the period Infogrames held the Looney Tunes license, they really did handle it well especially from what you could expect from licensed games. And plus, they had the license to over 200 different characters, so it was nice seeing some more obscure faces, especially Sam and Ralph. I would say the worst of the Infogrames-published Looney Tunes titles would likely have to be Loons on the Xbox, which was just a mediocre Power Stone type game with clones of arcade games thrown in.
To add onto this, their Wacky Races title on the Dreamcast (and PS2 in Europe) was quite good as well, although the same couldn’t be said for the PS1/PC counterpart.
I'm very familiar with Wacky Races on PS1, it's dreadful. 😂 I may cover the Wacky Races games at some point. The PS1 game is just effort to complete.

I got to play this game as an young adult and I love it , wish I played as a kid . Too bad they did not make a remake or sequel cuz I love karting game . And as always I love your detailed style of reviewing games , and your sense of humor 😂 the best

I liked this game on the DC but for me the best Kart Racer on the DC was Wacky Races.
I wanna review that at some point - there was a PS2 port of that and also a really terrible PS1 version that I've been meaning to cover for some time.
What's your take on Space Jam and Space Jam A New Legacy?
I don't mind the original Space Jam, and it's better than you'd expect a movie based on a commercial to be. The sequel was long, drawn-out and soulless, though it was nice to see traditional animation on the big screen and there were some amusing moments.
@@idonthaveanose Space Jam is one of my all time favourite films. But it's strange when I first saw Space Jam A New Legacy, I loved it. Now it's very dull.

You know what game that I hated the premise was so stupid maybe you might know what I'm talkin about it was for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 it was Looney tunes but they used guns like bugs Bunny Rhode Island red it was just so stupid none of those characters ever used the gun I didn't like it
