Just seen them at Brighton - AWESOME. They are back with a bang ..... just get a ticket at all costs and go see them. A very social band who signed all for their fans and stayed for a yarn with them too. Terry Hall is just sooooo cool and what a front-man for a band.
As we all do after 30 years. near half a lifetime. Terry is not looking too bad for a 50 year old, still has the same voice and glum face. Thankfully. And am just watching Glastonbury on the tv now, and the whole band still have that thing, live. Wonderful ska bass too.
Im confused, because in this vid it was neville doing it. What im confused about is because as most of these shows were lipsynched, the specials would screw with producers and switch roles and such. So your comment is entirely plausible, but i think in this video its actually neville doing the toasting. There is another video on here where neville "plays" guitar and lynval does the toasting. i may have missed where lynval toasts, but im pretty sure during the main toast, its neville.
pure art, u had to be that age to appreciate the raw talent and the harmony of races at a delicate time in the world

Saw them yesterday in Paris . They were great.
Saw them on the 2 tone tour in 1979 as a 13 year old, alongside the Selector and Dexys Midnight Runners. I suppose it doesn't get any better that that
Excellent :-)

If you are looking for current ska bands in today's generation that play more 2nd wave style, then try The Slackers or The Toasters.
They are pretty close. The Toasters are third wave to, but he asked for current ska bands that are close to Two Tone.
@acitonj I believe it might be a trilby
the specials are the best man! Maytals version of this is best though
@ acitonj, it looks like a homburg.

This is Live, for real... when they Lipsync it's not that perfect and neither those "version" of the music :P
Just take a look at other videos.
The Slackers don't play Two Tone!!!!
