Thank you for this, waiting for part 2. :-) As a Dane, I wish I had 70+ million to buy them all. Also amazing it survived two world wars without being looted.

Wow what an amazing opportunity it must’ve been to look at and hold these coins. It’s amazing what time can do to a coin. I can’t get enough of those beautiful original surfaces

Museum worthy coins. One of the bigger advantages of having those coins locked away for so long is that they were kept away from auction houses, grading companies, coin dealers, and the general commoditization that has overtaken coin collecting in the 21st century. A bygone era.

Wow. I'll be coming back to this video a few times before the auctions take place. Also, I found the video with L E Bruun's 4 large cabinets. Those cabinets are also impressive.

Great stuff! What type of materials (wood and the red fabric) were used to make the cabinets the coins were stored in? There doesn't seem to be any environmental damage to any of the coins.

Wow... these are eye candies. Thanks for sharing! I wouldn't be surprised, if most of these specimen looking coins were specially made for him. I mean, he was wealthy man and the mint in Copenhagen probably had all the dies still present. It wouldn't be rocket science to strike few extra coins. Russians at the same time made numerous different novodels. But that's impressive collection!

This collection could turn the coin market upside down. Will there be those with inside knowledge of upcoming coins who will sell theirs before they are devalued? I'm hoping not.
That is part of the mystery in collecting and or investing in rare coins.

I'd definitely send him my coins for a video description of his thoughts...
And I won't even ask for kickbacks for my idea... Ben can keep all the profits!

I believe he is eluding to the fact that people "collect" as evidenced by collections over the years - people collect for the fun and the fact they own - ego is involved - but I disagree collecting has not changed but perhaps the way we collect

@@michaelgoodspeed846I completely understand what you're saying, and I agree. But 200 years ago in the US,the Mint was only 30 years old and trying to figure out how to make coins, not sure if there was a collector mindset.Obviously,in Europe, completely different
