Most detailed breakdown that I could find. Especially helpful was the placement of the screws. Drove me bonkers trying to figure it out until I ran across this. I thought I was stripping holes. Like a snap, everything went back together perfectly.
It's crazy how minimalistic the PS5 is when you strip everything away, just a paper thin motherboard. It goes to show how far game consoles have come in the past 20 years or so.
Thanks for the video. My PS5 was shutting down all the time randomly. This helped that problem. Just take it slow and do not force anything to come out or go in
@@cassiemartell8386 you don’t need to replace anything. You probably need to clean the power supply in the PS5. I would recommend removing the fan first and then stick your phone in the fan hole to see if it’s dirty. You should be able to see the power supply. If it is filled with dust, you’re going to have to take it apart to clean the power supply
Bro im having a problem with my internet not connecting at all its not even picking up other wifi sources idk if thats the modules problem or something different but its really aggravating
On the silver plate, I didn't have the white stickers holding the cables. Only these black foam stickers that broke after removing them. And I also don't have the wires connected to the Bluetooth chip either.
@fasttechvideo CFI-1115B. I watched your video since you're the only one who shows how to properly take off parts of the digital version. I'm trying to clean it out since it won't play ps5 games very well. It will just play them from anywhere between 5 and 10 minutes and then crash, but it streams tv shows/movies without any problems. Most people told me it is most likely an overheating issue with a lot of trapped dust balls in the heatsinks. It might be a hardware issue, but the said that was rare. It already looks very bad, lol. There is a lot of fuzz build all over my heatsinks. I've had my ps5 for a little over 2 years now, so it's definitely out of warranty and I haven't cleaned it since.

@@elenkoemmanuel8840 you might have ripped off the traces from the board, you can hook up a fan to different power source in the board or repair the traces which is difficult

So is it actually safer to pull the fan connector by the wires? As long as I pinch all three cables? Honestly I tried pulling the connector with the tweezers, but they always slipped from the connector, I can't really pull it off with how people usually recommend.
i always use long nose pliers but do it gently just like shaking it till it is pulled off. but becareful, actually I'm experienced by removing the power supply in PS4. tweezers too weak to pull it

I got a PlayStation for the first time ever after having Xbox my whole life and I guess the storage expansion is an internal SD card or something as opposed to plugging in a USB hard drive like I did for my Xbox, but all the videos only mentioned the NORMAL PS5 with a disc drive so it was hard to follow anything. This is still nerve-wracking for me because I've NEVER taken a console apart so even taking the cover off is making me think I broke something constantly 😅
The fan in the video I don’t have those screws in my disc ps5. I see them in the digital too. Mines built differently & idk why. Mines has 4 screws & that’s it.. they don’t have holes in the screw to place a screw driver there. Anyone know?

Hi, man. Can you tell me from which model 10XX Sony started to remove that big term pad that was next to the APU? As you can see, this digital 10xxB model that you opened didn't have that big thermopad.
So I have a huge issue. I disassemble my entire ps5, unscrew all screws and now that I put it back together I got 2 extra screws, one huge one and one small one. However all screws are in. I should mention that both are black so technically they belong outside. I have 2 on the back for the battery, I have 6 normal ones, 2 narrow, 2 huge ones and one silver one on the front. Plus the 4 for the fan. I keep disassembling it and put back together and still left with 2 screws. I feel like a goblin is messing with me or something
Same here 2 screws are left over the one for the fan and one on the bottom right side and they don’t go in because they touch the screws from the silver plate of the motherboard 😫
Well im glad i watched a different video explaining how to open the plates because the way you showed in the video is the incorrect way to do it. Thats probably how that poor person broke their plate hooks. You have to lift up and slide it to the left at the same time. Do not forcibly tear it open in a diagonal motion

@@galindogiovanni its an antenna either for wifi or Bluetooth and you do need it. You can put the connector back on with a soldering iron

Same here 2 screws are left over the one for the fan and one on the bottom right side and they don’t go in because they touch the screws from the silver plate of the motherboard 😫

You are referring to the grate at the front? Take the side cover off and put it back on

Well im glad i watched a different video explaining how to open the plates because the way you showed in the video is the incorrect way to do it. Thats probably how that poor person broke their plate hooks. You have to lift up and slide it to the left at the same time. Do not forcibly tear it open in a diagonal motion
@@WORM_FOOD93 I did that exact thing and got the other side off and managed to for them back on right I am missing one hook but it’s not to serious damage wise

You’re putting in the wrong screw. Some are threaded for plastic and other for metal and should not be mixed

Check the Antennas and make sure you have connected them.

@@Paul.y10 Use a Dremel or a saw to cut a new flat head line on the screw and then use a flat heat to remove it.

@@fasttechvideo I think it’s called a flex cable it connects to the motherboard and the other side connects on the side of the fan if the front of the PlayStation I ripped it a little bit and now it doesn’t power on
