It wouldn't have been like that in 1958, though. They say it was a freak accident. There weren't a lot of cars around, so I guess she must've been
      distracted when it happened.

I took a Beatles tour of London and Liverpool back in '86. I visited Strawberry Fields (we actually got to go inside). I also have a picture of me standing in front of Menlove Ave. To tell you the truth, I could "Imagine" (pardon the pun) John playing his guitar in the front. It kinda made me teary eyed.

From a 60 year Beatles fan - well done! Yes, I was only 9, but remember February 1964 when they came and appeared on Ed Sullivan here in the US. It is also so great to see people born decades after the Beatles loving their music and their impact on the world..and I can include my own children in that category as well.

Whilst most of the original furniture and fittings in these houses is long gone, quite a bit of effort has been made to find replicas to make them as period correct as possible - helped by photos taken at the time (lots at Paul's house as his brother was a keen photographer). The tour guides are very knowledgeable in both houses and can field questions on the tiniest details. When I commented on how empty Paul's house seemed to be to modern eyes, the guide reminded us that people had less 'stuff' and gadgets in the 1950s. At John's house we were told that Yoko Ono still visits from time to time to ensure the place is being looked after. I'm not sure, but I seem to recall being told that she still owns the house, but allows the NT to use it. I found the visits to both houses very emotional experiences.

I’ve had the privilege of being inside John and Paul’s homes. In johns home Yoko brought back the clock that used to be above the fireplace. John had taken it to New York to the Dakota building when his aunt Mimi died. My husband got to stand in the little front porch and sing. The acoustics are fantastic. In Paul’s home there is dried lavender though out and in the garden. I got to take a cutting and it is now blooming in my garden. I just happen to have the same names as John and Paul’s mothers. My name is Mary-Julia.

It is a great tour, I visited them both through the National Trust a few years ago. If you are a Beatles fan it is a must place to visit. I loved every second of it, particularly John’s bedroom. I just stood there in awe. It was so surreal. John was my favourite Beatle. I never thought I would be standing in his bedroom where he wrote songs and poetry! It’s a lovely house to grow up in. He was very lucky. Paul’s house was also fantastic to see and to me if felt a lot more homely...i could actually feel their presence. If you have a chance ...go it’s fab! Thanks for the video 😁👍

A friendly correction: "Strawberry Field" is the name of the grounds of the Salvation Army home where John used to play as a kid - and you can clearly see "Field" (not "Fields", as you said) at 8.42 in your video.
And, from the look of it, the road (split by a median) outside the house, is more a "dual carriageway" (as they would say in the U.K.), rather than just a road. I was there many, many years ago, but cannot remember the dual carriageway that well.

I met John Lennon in New York, at what turned out to be his favorite cafe, the Cafe Fortuna. There was no room inside so I was offered the patio and was seated in the corner with two couples on either side. I’m a cartoonist and was on deadline, somewhat in a hurry.
The guy next to me was smoking and the smoke wafted past me every few seconds. To make matters worse, I could sense him looking at what I was doing…cartooning. Suddenly, I was in a cloud of his smoke and I turned to him …irritated. He had dark sunglasses and he sarcastically said “Sorry Senator!”.
I turned back to my work, a little shaken. I knew that voice…that nose (he had a hat). It was John Lennon! My god, I just offended John Lennon!
He was with an Asian woman but it was not Yoko. What astonished me was that he was so pale…so thin and a bit gaunt. Much later I discovered that he had loved cartooning as a teen.
What I should’ve done is apologize and maybe get on my knees, groveling! “I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!”
He would be dead in 3 months …

People complain about Yoko, but to me, not only is she a very interesting artist and songwriter, but she used her business savvy to invest John's fortune
and managed to triple it while he was still alive. And after he died, she's the one who's done more than anyone to keep his legacy alive.
I think people should give her some props.

@@agustinkafka25 Ah that's her personal life, I see. I don't see that side of her life as my business. I'm interested in the music and the art. You dig into anyone's personal life, you're going to find dirt, I suppose some people find that side fascinating, it's not for me. I had a look at what you mention though, rather than rely on rumours, seems like it was John who excluded his first son from the will, or left him much less anyway. Like I say though, not my business.
