I have a very small RUclips channel that I am trying to build and have been wanting to do a live stream to help build it. This video gave me the confidence I need as well as understanding the value of live streaming. Wish me luck on my first one!
I have livestreamed with no one there. I still do it like I have a big audience. I always have a specific topic related to my niche and I add timestamps to help those who watch the replay.

Hey thanks for the insight! I just recently moved from Twitch to specifically RUclips and I wanted to have a variety of Shorts, Full Videos and I wanted to incorporate a Live stream. This gave me some NEW ideas that I hadn't thought about before. I do my own editing and this video made me think of an idea of showing how I do some of my edits in my videos. THANKS!
I've livestreamed to no one before. Its good practice. Like learning charisma by talking in to a mirror. You dont need to be great with OBS anymore, its all wizard controlled. But yes, have a solid set of points you want to hit, you cant read the news without headlines!

Live stream is a great thing but in my case that will be problematic since I'm filming outside there is always somebody playing music or doing noise. It's not ideal condition for live stream.
It really depends on your strategy If you see how Emily D Baker livestreams, she gets over 1,000,000 views to some of hers. It really does come down to developing those Live strategies I mentioned in this video. As we know, results didn’t always mean “views”. My highest RPM comes from live streams so it depends on your objectives

Do it! One cool thing you can do with StreamYard is set up a livestream that doesn’t go out anywhere and just records internally using StreamYard’s “record only” option. Perfect for testing things out by watching the playback
If I go live with a video, and no one shows up, can I pretend people are there in the chat and respond on video like, "great question Ben, well the origin of this actually goes back to..." And pretend that some of my talking points are organic questions from actual live viewers, or can people still see the live chat somehow after the live stream?
You totally could, you could turn off chat or chat replay. Though often just delivering information is very strong. I’ve done plenty of streams where I don’t take questions from the chat

You definitely have to worry about music seeping in. You don’t want an unexpected copyright claim
