from all the other videos i’ve seen of the game so far, i thought the movement looked stiff; especially to be this new and improved take on JSR/F. but clearly i was wrong ! this looks great 😵💫
Solid idea for throwing it into 4:3, but my only criteque is that its too fuzzy making text illegible as an example, if you look at games of the time, while yes they were fuzzy, they were also fairly sharp, for future refference, dial it back a little bit. Though if the intention was to be like you're recording something in 2001, cut down the framerate to 15-20 frames and cut the resolution so somewhere around 240i or 360i, progressive was an uncommon thing at the time despite its availability being an option for consoles and TVs. Edit : Oh yea, and don't forget to crush the audio down to somewhere around 11khz and throw a high and low-pass filter on it too
Why do people think CRTs just look like shit by default or something? The video recordings of old games were not how those games looked like... we just didn't have the hard drive space for high quality recordings of games or footage, but playback looked crisp af on crts TVs thanks to scanlines.
Yeah, this video DOES succeed in capturing the vibe, but it's a lot more blurry than games actually looked in person-unless you had a terrible TV with terrible settings, I suppose
