It's not an immortals reference (I don't think at least). The Oldheads tell you about how New Amsterdam is built on top of the old one, you can see this is what they mean since the buildings are sunken in sand and stuff around you as you fall down there. They also tell you that the mask Felix and DJ wore 'is something you should never play with'. And here we see why, it's an old relic of some kind as you can see by it being down here.
For anyone that's gonna ask: No, there are no collectables down there. This is (I believe) just part of Old Amsterdam that New Amsterdam was built on top of, most likely. This is just a cool secret easter egg area, basically nothing more. Whether or not that's actually Felix's tomb, and really his mask... no idea. Also, a similar location exists in the secret maze area in Pyramid Island if you find that orange / yellow room and fall down the large hole. That, too, is just a secret area without a collectible, though i recommend finding it for yourself, since that one's not hard to reach. Currently, i don't believe any more have been found besides this and the one in the maze. And for those wondering about how to play as Rietveld as shown, when in postgame, go to the area next to the basketball court where you fought her as a boss.
in bazaar you can find "taiga" the skateboard on a high ledge above the snakes, its inside two vending machines that are stacked on top of eachother, hit both and it will spit out the skateboard

@@Zyphernetic The mask Felix wears is a replica he made if I had to guess. I think it holds some kind of symbolic power, as everyone who wore it became a big deal. Also the mask gets damaged by the time DJ wears it, it's missing the unicorn horn part.
@@AlphaShotAtom I spent a while trying to get into the vent but I couldn’t reach it. If it's the area in Versum Hill I think you're talking about there should be a round red fire hydrant on the ground in the back of that area. You need a skateboard to hop on top of it and then you can spin it up and gain height. That should get you on top of one of the buildings back there and you can follow the rest of the roofs around to the graffiti spots. There's also a skateboard hidden somewhere up there too.

So basically New New York from Futurama?
I hope this tomb is sequel bait
I really do,
I need more of this excellent game, plus the mask is just a sick design

@TerraziTerrajin really?! That's great news! Thanks for the info

There’s another one in the Square area.
A notable thing about the one in Pyramid Island is that it contains the _only_ tree in the entire game.

u can also find a tree in the maze at pyramide location. But this one you got is too hard to find GG dude
Hmmm the tree
the area looks a lot like an area in jet set radio future, might be a nod ontop of a reference to old amsterdam?
It does remind me of Rokkaku Dai Heights
It definitely looks a lot like Rokkaku Dai and Kibogaoka Hill.
I do wish Masked Felix was playable. Red Felix is cool, but that unicorn horn is the best!
Dude just transitioned to rokaku dai heights
This will be the next villain lol
He will rise from his sarcophagus
You see the character on the tombstone in the beginning when Red has his first (mental breakdown) - the tombstone is felix even tho he’s alive ??
Felix---Err...Spoiler. Idk if i should say
He is Felix. Felix found the mask down there.
Also when is that flashback in question? I think I am misreading into how far in the game you are.

the entire goddamn game is a jsrf reference
