The lyrics have both tear (tir; as in crying) and tear (ter; as in ripping apart), to be rhymed with fear. In EP.6 of Break The Silence, SUGA shared, “The lyrics for Tear were written for the members. When I was writing the melody, at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members, we all cried together.”

Yes!! Namjoon interpreted the word 'tear' as in teardrops, for Yoongi it was 'tear' as in separating or splitting (tear apart). And Hoseok rhymed the word 'tear' with 'fear' as in the fear that lingered after being teared apart that caused tears. "You're my tear, you're my, you're my tear. You're my tear, you're my, you're my tear. You're my fear, you're my, you're my fear."

It’s commonly said RM raps from his mind. He’s logical about it and states facts. SUGA raps from his heart expressing how things affect him personally. JHope reacts with his soul carrying a lot of emotions.

This song brings many emotions because I’m sure Armie already told you in the comments everything about it but knowing that they were going through such struggles, and on the verge of break up that they became almost like enemies, it seems. It just shows the humanness and the hardships.

The use of the heteronyms “tear” and well… “tear” (lol) followed by the abstract noun “fear” is literally such clever lyricism:
1- RM’s “tear”- in simple terminology; refers to crying. Hence, “you’re my tear” suggesting that getting separated from the group would project nothing but pain and sadness in his life.
2: Suga’s “You’re my tear”- as heard in his pronunciation refers to something being torn apart therefore, alluding to him confessing that being seperated from the group would shatter or as such “tear” him apart.
3: j hope’s “you’re my fear” indicates that he values and cherishes the group so much so to a point where he “fears” losing them would also completely destroy him as a person.
The lyrics of this song are very deep I love it. They convey the meaning of the song so perfectly that rapper bts is so perfect
