Just 10 minutes away (driving distance) from the "jungle" you guys were in this video, is the Botanical Garden, in Malay language is called Taman Tasik Perdana, locals called it Lake Garden. It's big with many people goes there in the morning to exercise. Inside that Lake Garden, there's a place called KL Bird Park which is the current biggest "free flight Aviary" in the world. You can check out their entrance fee from the internet and a small butterfly farm where you can photograph many different species at a small entrance fee. There are many videos in RUclips on KL Bird Park too.
I guess some or most locals including me are unaware that this mini jungle did really exists in the middle of KL. A visit to KL will bring city vibes in mind, with hustle and bustle. That's NOT a virgin jungle yet. Other wise the canopy will be more dense, with hardly any sun rays penentrating thru. The cooling effect of nature is soo soothing. You'll be kept busy evading the weird, scary, crawling, blood sucking leech. Thank you for sharing this.
@rakawi7818: I had no idea of it as well. I'm no longer considered myself a "local" anymore as I left Malaysia for Farnborough, England in my teens. Visited the KL tower a few years ago and I was oblivious to this eco-park. Brought back memories as @carmaadventures discovered a path towards Bukit Nenas. Now, I'm getting my bearings straight. This place used to offer a cable car ride. Perhaps one of the first cable car placed in Malaysia. It should also be near my old school, St. John's Institution which is next to Convent Bukit Nenas girl school. KL surroundings has changed so much that I no longer recognized some of the older places. I'm rediscovering Malaysia from the perspective of tourist visiting there. Fascinating!
The hidden forest in KL is for beginners and those who want to experience the rain forests before venturing into the real deal. I settled down in Malaysia. My first experience was working deep in the jungles of Sarawak from 1989-1992. Later, I settled down in the outskirts of Batu Gajah (250km North of KL)with my local wife..
That's amazing, we are looking into going to the rain forest in Sarawak. We were also going to go to Taman Negara but with the rain we don't want to risk it...🥲 Any recommendations in Sarawak?
Im sarawakian, go to matang wildlife or semenggoh. Stay at town area nearby kuching waterfront will easy to walk nearby to public transport @carmaadventures
1:59 As a Malaysian, I think the RM40 charge for foreign tourists is too expensive. It needs to be reduced, plus there are areas that are cannot be entered 12:17 .. they should give a discount due to the facilities that are still not fully accessible
Malaysian Tourism office should just double the International fee or same as locals, not too overly pricy at Rm40. We want tourist right, so make everything cheaper for more tourists to visit frequently not just for one visit like what is mostly happening now. Make them the repeat visitors.
@@andrewadam7663 nahh i actually think its fair since their money is 4x ours. I've visited the uk and the states and they do the same. Kalau mampu, boleh je.
The forest is gazatted as Forest Reserve to preserved prestine plants and the ecological importance. Some track was built for nature lovers appreciate them. Preserving them forever is the only right decision to keep KL has her uniqueness of having green areas/park as well as prestine forest. Wellcome to Malaysia, consider coming to the Borneo part of Malaysia where meganature is awaitings
@carmaadventures There were two stations, one fronting Jalan Ampang and the other one on Bukit Nenas. It's been decades ago. I think that was the first cable car in Malaysia. 😁
Guess KL is one of the most unique cities in the world that still maintaining it's virgin jungle in the middle of metropolis city... good that u complained ..agreed rm25 should be reasonable for the foreign visitors Anyway how do you two like it ??? Worth visiting??🎉😂
KL is just a unique city and we love it for things like this. We really enjoyed it, specially because we got to see the monkeys up close. That definitely made it worth visiting
That sounds great...if u two like exploring the natural jungle within the metropolitan KL City....why not try those probably lesser known but less chaotic Islands surrounding Malaysia for more adventurous challenging n exciting experience 😅🎉
Don't smile at the monkeys; especially to the leader of the group (usually the largest). Showing teeth to them is a sign of aggression and they could attack you.
It is kind of rip off.. it used to be free access to the forest. Unless they upgrade the facilities which at the moment in poor condition, and out dated with broken tiles and wooden planks, and worn out rope. It should be free of charge by corporate sponsors as what they do with Taman Tugu next to Perdana Botanical Park. It also should be stroller and wheelchair friendly with proper trail.
Rip off??? You think to maintan the forest is free??? I believe you never once maintain a small garden. This forest maintaned by forestry department of My. Build by tax payer money. To maintain it is another story. RM10 for locals is reasonable. You think the walkway under the trees is cleaned by itself??? Who gonna pay the workers??? Nowadays works are hard to find, at least somebody can find the job & feed their family. If you expect everything is free, you are delusional. You need to think critically. Do not just think about yourself / self centered. Big picture. How much did you pay to park your car at open car park??? Enter the toilet also need to pay.
In our opinion, as mentioned on the video, we advocate people to visit the park, but regardless of its maintenance requirements, 40RM is expensive even for tourists. The park used to be free years ago, and prices have been slowly been increasing. If you charge 20RM for a bottle of water, regardless of how much it costs to produce, it is still a lot for what you get. But still, our experience was good as we managed to see the worker feed the monkeys from up close 🤗
Yeah, I think the price should match the entertainment and with 40 RM there are so many things to do in KL, but we still enjoyed our time at the forest. it's definitely something different
@carmaadventures there are free options, tugu park or kl east park... as i mentioned in the comment sections in one of your other videos...tugu park is i.n central KL but KL east park is in the suburbs, but u can get there easily by LRT...but for kl east park you need to register a slot online...or you could go to Kemensah (an area behind zoo negara, with waterfalls and you can take an ATV ride)
@carmaadventures Entertainment??? How much money you need to maintain acres of rain forest??? If this forest maintain by a company, how much money the company need to pay for property/land tax? They need to pay millions per year. Not including to maintain the forest. You think the walkway under the trees cleaned by itself? Probably overall cost RM thousands to maintain the forest per month. Rain forest are not the main attraction for the locals. Everywhere we have trees. So how many will go to forest park? Not many.
You guy should not be complaining about the prices charged for foreigners. If I come to Australia I would be paying helluva lot for everything when My Ringgit is approximately 3 to 1 Aussie $. You come here and complain. Try your luck in Europe and let me know if you can get a cheaper vacation.
@hariskingvids your sense of logic does not appeal tome. For me to come to Australia with a currency that is a third the value of the Aussie currency, and feel the huge difference in price and expenditure based on the prices and expenditure in Malaysia, do I need to complain about it? No. I don't. I just accept it as a reality. On other hand, the need for a different price for foreigners is necessary in Malaysia. The extra amount you pay is used to for the cost of upkeep and upgrade of the facility. BTW, it is not cheap, maintaining the facility.

Hope that you guys have had a good time with your exploration at the KL Eco Canopy Forest Walk.
Few years ago, the entrance was free of charge, RM40 for foreign tourists, that's quite expensive.
That place was previously a site for a cable car ride.
It was really fun, specially since the worker was feeding the monkeys next to us ahaha A cable car?! Where did it take you to?
