I go hiking at a state park on trails deep into the woods with a friend. It amazes me how many women we meet just strolling along, by themselves, with headphones on, looking at their cellphones.

@@kipkaercher3257 I don't doubt it. I just did a new trail myself this morning.... There is a secluded segment by a lake surrounded by forest. The path is tough, narrow, steep and slippery. At one point a person was coming straight for me... I thought it was a dude but it turned out to be a young woman.... On her own, hood up, earphones in.... I had to lean against a tree to allow her to pass me. She thanked me, so seemed to be somewhat aware of her surroundings but meet a criminal in a place like that, maybe sleeping rough, high, drunk, horned up.... It could end badly quite easily.

If a man has gotten close enough for me to slap him in the face I’ve already failed 😅 but good advice cause you never know what can happen. One of my close friends was followed through Walmart in the middle of the day by 2 men. She was very pregnant and had her three young sons with her. Fortunately she noticed them trying to follow her out of the store and she went right back in to get some help. Incidentally, her gut had been telling her not to go to Walmart that day. Tip #1 should be always listen to your gut. I believe it’s actually God trying to help you avoid some trouble 👍

This is a fantastic video! It reminds me that people need to read "When Violence is the Answer". I agree with the red flag comments about anyone saying self-defense for women is useless. The biggest take away here is there needs to be a shift in mindset away from passive and appeasing, especially in a life-threatening situation.

My Gracie Jiu-Jitsu school has a program called Women Empowered devoted to women's self-defense. I take the regular JJ classes, but I have watched some of it and it seems very effective. They teach defenses against the kind of attacks women can expect and the defenses are designed to work against bigger, stronger attackers. I recommend the program.
Two ideas anyone can use: A rapist wants to rape, obviously. An idea, doesn't apply in every situation: "False surrender": You may choose to pretend to submit waiting for an opportunity to strike. At some point, a rapist has to put himself in a vulnerable position to do what he has planned. Wait for the opportunity that gives you and know how to take advantage of it. A robber wants valuables. He will assume they are in your purse. Have your real valuables on your person where they can’t be seen, like in a micro-wallet in your waistband. Don’t wear jewelry you don’t want to lose. Give up what he thinks he wants, but he actually gets very little.

*Ferocity multiple hits n run shout aggression
*Prepare your mind to accept injury and try to avoid freezing in shock
    * Don't stop fighting and never let yourself be taken to crime scene bravo
Also good idea for couples to practice their defense strategy together .. in event of attacks muggings etc.

I was trapped in a convenience store at a gas station this morning with no way to get out because the cashier was trying to physically restrain a guy he thought was stealing a coconut water that was worth no more than $3. He had the door completely blocked, would not let go of the guy, even after he put the item down and it escalated to the point where the guy cashier was (very poorly) trying to restrain pulling a knife and saying "I'll f-ing cut you if don't get off me. 2 other ladies qnd I were just trapped ( They were clearly terrified and I was thinking tactically over different scenarios and what I could do to keep myself and the other innocent people in there safe if necessary) as this was escalating quickly. Fortunately, I'm well trained and have my CCP. As this altercation started I was At the register, just a couple feet away so I slowly started to back away And discreetly slip my hand onto the grip of my concealed weapon as I tried to give myself more space from the threats, a little concealment if needed and put myself between the threat and the other two women who i'm sure were unarmed and clearly terrified. I'm grateful the Rockless cashier, finally, let go of the guy and he took off and fortunately it didn't come to any further physical violence, I thank the good Lord that I didn't have to use my weapon today and pray I never will. But it came very close.. all because of what looked like ego to me, this cashier just could not let go of his insane need to restrain this man not knowing he was armed and clearly was trying to be the hero in his mind, When in reality he put 4 people's lives and safety in jeopardy 🤦‍♀️

My most scary and dangerous encounters were from other women. I was able to deter the assaults by keeping distance and loud aggressive speech.
As to men, I was taught years ago: eyes, neck, testicles. Those are your targets to disable the attacker enough to get away. If he still comes at you after that well side arm comes out.

    • @themoth4199
      @themoth4199 День назад

If you are close enough that eye, throat and testicle attacks failed, it means he is on you. How can you get your gun out and use it at that point? Better to be situationally aware and produce the gun before things get to that point. Also, bear spray is not just for bears. Just my thoughts. Not trying to criticize. Take care.

If you watch enough true crime there are a lot of instances where women have gotten away from a perpetrator. Sometimes it’s using psychological tactics but sometimes just putting up a fight so he has to struggle more with you is enough. They want an easy victim, not someone who’s going to give them a hard time. Don’t look like a victim and fight to the death before they can get you in their car. They aren’t just trying to kill you on the street, they want to take you somewhere remote and do things and then kill you so you won’t tell on them.
I had to literally tell my daughters this in those exact words so they would understand.

3 strikes that will deliver brutal force.First a palm heel to the chin or jaw, followed second strike either a ridge hand or knife hand to the bridge of the nose or trachea . Another strike if done PROPERlY is a hammer fist to nose. These are very good strikes , are reflexive once learned, and work. Once mastered , move on to elbow and knee strikes. Just my two cents from 45 plus years of training in martial arts

Unfortunately, many attackers are men, and they don't respect women, despite their ability to "replicate" (his words). I do have to disagree with you somewhat on your point with the flashlight. You basically said blasting a person with either a bright beam of light or with a strobe function will effectively stop a potential attacker and he can't get through that. While it is unlikely that the guy would really be able to effectively advance while getting blasted in the face with a very bright strobe light if that person was determined enough they could advance and grab wildly for you and/or take a swing at you and if you're not careful possibly hit you. Ideally what you'd want to do is once you've blasted your attacker with the strobe function from your flashlight you'll then want to strike that person either in the eye or or maybe even temple and then run away. As for most everything else I agree with you.
And to any of you ladies who maybe decide to read this comment don't get too hung up on the item you carry for self-defense being used against you. That's just an inherent risk you have to come to terms with. And also understand that sort of thing can absolutely be prevented with the proper training and execution.

When going to and from the car, I tucked my hair up under a man's hat and wore mens" clothing and did not care what I looked like. I wore a bulky jacket, man style boots etc. It was a cold climate so that made it easy. I did this with defense in mind. I looked and walked like a guy. Handling stress . We need more than just physical training and you seem to touch on this but never go any further just a few words . Thank you for your time

The piercing tool that I had was made for me by one of my contacts on Instagram, but I typically just carry a fixed blade (the Beckwith covert)

Just remember people who climb mountains pick flowers on the mountainside...people who go to the beach pick shells on the shores.😉😂

These are fine tips before you are grabbed, but a video is NEEDED on how to get away AFTER you've been surprised, attacked, picked up and thrown down, and your arms are pinned to your sides and many types of assaults are happening one after another after another. You can't move or breathe if someone is sitting on you and awful things are happening. Shock sets in, etc., When someone is on drugs they can have mammoth physical strength and you are like a rag doll to them. You are never the same again should you survive it. There is too little said about the element of surprise and how to stop attacks once they have begun. Respectfully submitted as a topic for you to cover.

If you don't try to defend yourself then you might as well roll over and let them assault you. You gotta try.

I knew a small guy, who would get beat up by his large 6 foot girlfriend.
I encouraged him to leave but he kept going back.
The last time she beat him up, he stabbed her and she died. He tried to kill himself but lived.
He was tried and convicted for murder.
