I am looking into these now because the cheap rubber flapped vent that comes stock has came out and is loose. I am concern about the water that may get in there right now. Can u tell me if these tramp stamps allow water to get inside your Jeep or your door inside ? is it a worry that water gets in there. the way vehicles rust really quick these days I don't wanna have issues later. I am running a bump with tire Carrier so it isn't so much about moving license plate. more so about getting a tramp stamp verus getting a new stock seal vent. can u provide me your take on this. thanks so much and I love your ride man. keep on with the awesome videos.
I had the same issue as you. The vent rubber pieces broke. The Motobilt plate keeps pretty much all water out, the top side of it only has one small hole and I can’t see much water getting in it. Either a plate or a new seal will work for you. Honestly I would go with a Motobilt or new seal depending which is cheaper

+James Bonanno I bring my spare with me if I’m hitting the trails. I prefer driving around town without a 100lb spare tire, plus I’m going to 40s soon and won’t even bring a spare at all.
I only bring it on long trips. If I get a flat when I’m driving to and from work or around town I’ll just get a tow to Home, or have my wife bring the tire, or even plug or patch the tire and fill it with my on board air compressor. I just made a new video showing my removable tire carrier for trips
Thanks for the worry, but I’ll be fine. I don’t want to have a 37 on a stock carrier, and I’m going 40s soon anyways.. and I’m not going to have a 40” hangin in the back..
Those spare tires have saved my ass multiple times from rear ending collisions though
that's the only thing im thinking about right now. other than that, super clean look and you could always throw it in the back if you go trailing

How'd you make that hole for the wire? Does water get in, and was the wire easy to route through the tail gate?
The hole was already there, and no water getting in at all.
You did good.! I did the same with ‘09 jk with kentrol all in one third brake lights and license lights.
Ive been doing a thorough chrome delete on my jk but i cant find black key hole surrounds. Did yours come factory like that
I painted them. Never use the actual key so it stays black but can still work if needed

Tapped into the wires in the cab. The light came with instructions
Doesn't make sense to me if you get Flats on the trail. Where they're most likely to happen.
