Moose #2 are rare nowadays Charlie............you are da man for calling........go to hand it to you buddy............Great footage and thanks for taking us along.....
Thank-you chief, the picture of the sunrise, that mountain translated to English from Mi'Kmaw means "A Place To Ask Forgiveness" It's a sacred mountain of our people. One day we should go there for a hike...
Could have done without the crazy heat, 28C or 82F... But the scenic views peacefulness of being where you can't see or hear any other humans is hard to beat.
Nice hunt! Beautiful area! Any advice for for hunting area 5 next week? Kinda new to the moose calling and NFLD hunt, from Goose Bay, Lab. Not sure if calling would work this late, or if we should just go for spot and stalk. Loving all your videos
Did you ever see the moose calling videos I did from Goose Bay when I was there? Called in 5 bulls one evening at the rock pit heading up to pine tree. The second rut has started, still some moose on the go. I'm after seeing lots of bigger bulls but haven't come across my little 4 - 6 pointer yet. Calling now sometimes works but most likely you won't hear any answers. It don't mean that nothing is coming in, but the bulls are getting pretty tired this time of the year so they are more likely to seek in to the calls. Listen to the squirrels as they are natures tattle tails. Spot and stalk works great and soon if you can find a spot where someone is cutting birch. The moose like to feed on the birch tips and the red osier dog wood trees. (red osier is like a drug to them this time of the year).
@NLGhostWolf Yes I did see that video, I watched it a few times looking at the land trying to figure where you were. I did find it after, and tried calling a few times last year for fun but no luck. Thank you very much for the tips! We're heading down next week for a week or two in tent. Hoping to get a young bull too, couldn't ask for better meat.
yes indeed. It was very warm and dry one day it was 28C, I wasn't sure if we could manage to call two bulls out under these conditions. Luck was on our side.
