What is that resulted in projects being more complex and just there being more projects in the first place ? Yeah predicting the future is tough... 😆Althought if the economy goes to shit like it seems doomed to happen in the long run, there may be less projects rather than more...
I agree, there's no reason to worry unless you really just want to do boring crud and UI projects those will be AI prompt generated -- it's the easy stuff after all. Actually more and more is done with low code like Mendix and OutSystems already. Harder stuff, especially cross domain projects or new technology, is not something these AIs currently can deal with and I don't see that happen any time soon. As long as you are the "ideas guys" to come up how to do something what needs to be created, you will be golden for quite a while.
Every time I see someone saying that AI can replace a developer now I wonder, have these people actually worked in a product? I work as a dev success for a company that has a dashboard and the amount of work that I see developers do is insane. Communicating with clients, adding to their requirements, debugging, monitoring so that nothing explodes, comply with the ridiculous FRs that some clients ask, etc. AI most of the time gives me a useEffect that will explode my app in react so I can't imagine the harm it could in an actual codebase that's delicate.e Nevertheless, it is incredibly useful (at least to me) for learning new concepts. It's been a godsent for learning Typescript as I believe it understands it quite well, and if you ask to explain x or y type it will do it pretty well. It is like having a coach next to you most of the time when it comes to explanations honestly.
From my understanding is that Devin is currently using GPT4 and will be able to simply use GPT5 or any other LLM as a plugin more or less making it much more powerful. But yes, this is simply the beginning to what will be the future. It is still unclear as well if this is simply a GPTs bot. (OpenAI: GPTs was a stupid name for your agents) (edit: not putting you down here, but everything you explained that you will be doing in the future with Devin is what Devin can do now without human intervention.)
I think the marketing of this AI was done very well. Imagine naming it first ai "Software Engineer" (which in itself pretty intimidating) and not knowing that software engineering isnt just coding. Plus Elon Musk be shittin' on twitter about AI lil too much. Anyways lets see whats happens in future.
AI is pretty useful for simple tasks so far. It evolves so fast, soon I feel like it may reduce the amount of devs you need for a project.

Nice video sir! It's only the beginning, I think it's gonna replace a lot of software engineers especially the ones who are not very good at it. 👀
Well said I think I agree on that one
I start a software engineering bootcamp next Tuesday.. .let's hope it's not in vain!
