Finally made the decision to train into a T3 destroyer the other day and chose Hecate, it’s so damn cool!
When you jump into someone else's fight and lay waste to what ever they are fighting try to abandon the loot before you go, it will reduce that salt a great deal.
But... Isn't salt mining the most important thing anyway?
Hey Aceface, you don't need to use the buttons, double clicking in the scan map view will do the same thing ;)
Any other shortcut to adjust the resolution faster? I mean from 8AU to 0.5AU. I saw some streamers change the resolution much quicker and don't need to use the mouse click.

How? Id love to see the fit!
Hecate should have three syllables. I pronounce it like "hɛ" as in "heck", "ka" as in "cop", and "tɛ" as in "test". There are other pronunciations (such as hɛk ə ti, where the ə is like an "uh", and the ti is like "tea") depending on dialect/language, but it should always have three syllables. The ship is named after an ancient Greek goddess.

@@ninnikuu8663 Gila is almost certainly named after Gila monster (following the Rattlesnake and Worm naming conventions of Guristas), and would therefore be prounounced "hi:lɛ", where "hi:" is like "heat" and "lɛ" is like "love".
Of course I often call it "gi:lɛ" when I don't stop to think about it first. "gi" as in "geezer" and "lɛ" as in "love".

The way I've thought about Scan Resolution -- the attribute that affects your target lock speed -- being larger (faster) for smaller ships and smaller (slower) for larger ships is the following.
A small ship is occupying less "space" in space. A large ship is occupying more "space" in space. When triangulating an enemy ship relative to yours, a small ship can evaluate all the points on your Hecate from left wingtip to right wingtip -- some hundred meters -- and triangulate to the enemy ship very quickly, and since the Hecate is so small, there's not a lot of math to calculate. But, on the other hand, if you're in an Erebus -- some 14,000 meters long -- triangulating from every point on your ship to a target ship takes a massively longer time.
I say "long" (for Erebus) and "wingtip to wingtip" (for Hecate) in terms of a 1-dimensional abstract object because, at a cursory glance, the equation of targeting time is dependent on the scanning resolution to the first power (the inverse, or x^-1). "Shouldn't it depend on the surface area of a ship?" one might ask, which would require a squared power relationship or x^-2 which is not present in the targeting equation. That's a fair question and would better solidify this "lore" explanation above as being reasonable, so we can see if Scan Resolution has a square-root relationship with ship class, which would roughly represent a x^2 relationship hidden behind that statistic. From frigate to battleship it goes fairly linearly from 600 down to 100, so no, there's no x^2 relationship. Alas, my "lore" explanation above is therefore pretty shakey and handwavey. :(
Close, there is a 1-dimensional abstract metric tat is used to determine lock speed besides scan resolution:
Enemy sbip's sig radius. Lock time gets modified by both, decreased by high resolution, decreased by high sig radius.
Jackdaw is king of highsec combat exploration
I use the mighty Jackdaw in Amarr space, the missile damage delay is not as exciting as that "blap blap blap" shown with the Hecate :p
A jackdaw, with T2 light missile launchers and autotargeting missiles can safely hit out to 60km. I split my launchers and it's usually enough to alpha strike anything and everything you'll run into in high sec. Then all you have to do is pilot around to pick up wrecks.
No need to use the buttons when scanning. Double click on a signature to move it to the center of the window, place probes, double click "in space" (i.e. not on a signature) to rotate the view like the buttons would, readjust probes, shrink probe size by pressing alt and using your mouse-wheel, and finally hit "b" key to start the scan... When the scan finishes, rinse and repeat. You can speed things up considerably that way!

I'm almost 7% over power grid when I check this fit, I just went omega from alpha so I may not have all the proper skills trained up, what else do I need to squeeze out some power?

I swapped the Pithum C-type Booster for a Gistum to make it cap stable. I then also had to swap the Small Ancillary Current Router I for a tech II, then downgrade the Small Hybrid Ambit Extension II for a tech I. This gave me the power grid I needed and made it cap stable. I was just able to easily do a Gurista 4/10 with these changes.
Hi Aceface, fairly new plaer here. Is it fair to assume your skills are maxed out? Whenever I simulate fittings like the one in this video, my stats don't match up, eg my capacitor isn't sustainable and my align time is >3s in propulsion mode!
thats true i have almost max skills + implants. But for these combat sites its really not that problematic, you dont need max skills. Only in abyss is really godo skills a necessety
Pro tip: Instead of using the corner buttons to flip the scanner, double click the window. It is way faster. I always d-click, move the box, d-click and move it again and hit scan
I changed the hotkeys around and can scan anything down within 90 seconds now. Only limited by the actual timer now 😆
I love the Hacate for this stuff, but I find that because of needing to be closer to the NPCs, you have a lot more piloting to do. When you run into something in the sites with tons of collidables and drop your movement, you can get lit up.
Personally, the Gila is my main for this stuff.
How would one go about exploring the relic and data sites that have enemies in them? Can I do it solo in any ship or do I need a fleet with me? Exploration and combat are my 2 favorite activities and I'd like to expand into the frontier and sleeper sites.

Giving out my secrets! Also expanded probe launched + a ctype or better armor repairer you can pvp at the same time in low sec while looking for sites by combat probe scanning.

Another Tip, Hit the Hideaways too they trigger the 3/10 which has 5 chances of getting Faction mods in each room, Id be interested to get your opinion on my DeD Build, Hit me up and ill send you one :p
My Dedmak Build will run All the 3/10, 4/10, 5/10 Watch, Vigil, Its basically the Highsec King, you don't need to worry about anom hitting anymore just jump scan, combat sites purge and move on lol
I plugged in the Ambit rig, but when I go to plug in the Locus, it says I can't because they're interfering.
I love the Hecate, great ship and it looks GREAT too. A bit too squishy though...

Don't be afraid to abandon all nearby wrecks if you are onsite with another ship and not bothering to loot them, they might need the loot without the suspect timer and they might be farming for salvage. Not everyone at these locations are bathing in fat isk like you are... Be a bro, yo!

You could get even faster time to warp by starting the warp in propulsion mode, then switching to armor mode somewhere in the middle of the warp progress bar. Regarding Void ammo, it seems to have problem with application tho.
Good fit buuut, get rid of the shield booster, and get a small armor rep in the low... Replace that Shield booster with a web, I'd even say drop both those cap rechargers for something else entirely maybe even double web or a sensor booster for quicker lock ons. This way you can get in your targets face quickly, web them, and orbit while applying your max damage.
Hecate is renown for being one of the best pvp ships

I think your fit here is overoptimized for dens and refuges and will struggle with some of the escalations or sites you scan down. You got more dps at the expense of a very weak tank and also too slow chasing things down with the AB. Here is better I think but dangerous to fly because of bling especially where you are flying in ganker's alley.

It's tank is plenty actually, but the main thing I spend my time in high sec escalation hunting is grinding the escalations rather than doing them (which I could do in another ship)
