That window dropping was a jolt! Lol. My son and I were moving heavy furniture yesterday and we were trying to load this heavy mirror top w shelves for a dresser and suddenly his end went down and bang!! But nothing broke! He was so upset. I said “no mirrors were broken during the making of this video” and he laughed.

What a great, easy recipe. I will have to try it. I have had a lot of gut issues too and while I was eating yoghurt most days I still struggled. Hi Jeanine! I'm a relatively new subscriber and I love your channel. I also suffer from gut issues for years with chronic diarrhea, to the point that I'm afraid to go anywhere. I'm tired of having to take Imodium several times a week, so I just ordered Cholostrum from Anovite. It's pricey, but it will be worth it if it helps. I did some quick research and am very impressed by all the health benefits. Thanks for sharing the information. I'll let you know if it works for me!

Watching this video was like listening to my son. He is so into nutrition and health food and changing one's life through diet and talks about greek yogurt, probiotics, Kiefel?, buys raw milk, and does what ever it takes to be the healthiest possible. You two would have a grand old time discussing this. Although he has no gut issues, he has probably learned about natural methods of healing that, too. If he weren't in the Air Force, he would probably be a holistic medical person and I have no doubt, a good one. Your coloring is great in this video so hopefully that is an indication you are on the right track!

I have episodic IBS for years. Recently, I tried a carnivore diet for 3 weeks then broke the diet by eating pork & sauerkraut & mashed potatoes. That resulted in the worst episode of IBS I've suffered in years. It felt like my peristalsis just stopped or it was Ileus. Lasted 17 days. The only thing i can think is that my gut microbes were perhaps depleted and the sauerkraut was a huge shock to my gut. I realised it wasn't improving so I had to try something. I ate yogurt 2-4 times a day and it worked. Slowly improved. I felt like I was going south until the yogurt.
Id rather be fat than go through an episode like that again😳

Only have seen canned though so far, but wondered if that would be possible to use do you think? OH instant pot, oh instant pot... but I have my daughter's knock off, need to see if it has a yogurt setting!
that strainer is a nifty contraption!
I have made yogurt with room temp raw milk , keep it warm over night in a cooler with hot water bottles inside, it actually works. So all I do is fill milk into pint jars, add a2 tablespoons plain yogurt, stir it, put lids on and put them into a warm cooler with hot water jars added, close lid. Guess I could set it in the sun, but over night is no sun. Start it in the morning, cover with blanket over night? the possibilities are endless :)

When the window tipped my belly flopped. I pray nothing happened to it.
As far as the yogurt, is there a way to flavor it? I know that you probably could use fresh fruit but then you'd have the sugar from the fruit. I'm such a gagger and I am concerned that the plain yogurt would cause me to gag hence throwing it up. I don't have colitis ( in the past I did) but I have been good. I have a condition called gastroparesis it's a condition where the vagus nerve in the gut becomes paralyzed. The food that I can eat without causing me to go into a flare up is extremely limited. What happens is the food that I can't digest lays in there and it ferments causing me problems. I also have been diagnosed with chronic and acute pancreatitis, as well as pancreatic enzyme insufficiency. I also have stage 2 diabetes and just a week ago was diagnosed with lupus. That collusyrum ( spelling) is that helpful with all gut problems?
I can't wait to see your home when it's done! I am so excited and happy for you.
    Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I eat berries with mine or put in a smoothie with Stevia to sweeten it. I'm sorry for your gut problems, it's so hard to live with! You should research into colostrum. Truly fascinating. And it's good for a host of gut issues, as is a healing whole food for the gut

I think if you have a crock pot that has a temp setting - or check what temp it holds on a low setting just with water.

There are recipes for making yogurt in a slow cooker. I did it once before I had an instant pot. While I was able to get a good result, it was really tedious and once was enough for me. I put the milk in jars, used wadded up aluminum foil for better heat conduction, etc. I learned to do that from the recipe. You have to have an instant read thermometer to get the temperature right which required my being vigilant and increasing and lowering. Even if I didn't have an instant pot I wouldn't do slow-cooker method again.

@@larsonanne whew, that sounds laborious! I thought I could use this nuwave pot BUT after I had my milk and starter in I came to find I cannot manually set a temp on this thing - bummer; so I reverted to my tried and true: poured it in a stainless pot warmed it to 100F, wrapped it up and put it in the cooler with hot water bottles - 24 hrs later yogurt :)

"Greek" refers to the thicker yogurt with the whey drained off. It's a style of yogurt, if you will.
