We used grills, batteries, candles, fruit cups , can meats, case bottle water, bread, soda, flash lights, charcoal, crackers, chips. Meds like aspirin. We just had a flood in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Same things cars were flooded from 2 weeks of rain. South Florida trained in ref to Hurricanes. Windows boarded or shutters closed. Pray 🙏 no one gets it.

This hurricane is so unpredictable that every time we check the trajectory and the strength of it, it changes. Nevertheless, I will be watching your videos throughout the hurricane. I love your videos, always truthful and fun to watch.

I lived on the Atlantic coast of Florida for 40 years. I literally can’t tell you how many hurricanes I’ve been through. In the dozens I’m sure.
Whatever you even think you might need to do, do it.
Sometimes you get sick of all the work and money that gets spent.
But,if you ever get a doozy like Andrew(our roof came off it the kitchen/garage side of the house) you’ll be sooo glad you did. No one gets to you fast. It’s all neighbors helping neighbors.
Go on line and look at the Florida hurricane checklist.
Be safe with all your girls!! And puppy too!!❤️

Good recommendations! Looks like it will be just a Ton of rain by the time it gets to Yucatan.
Off topic: sleeping in a hammock is much cooler than a mattress in summertime--why many rentals have hammock hooks in the bedrooms. I remember touring my Maya landlord's home, he had a huge antique bed ...& a hammock(!) in his bedroom & he explained to me. Cotton ones for inside, synthetic for outside. Good priced hammocks at where they make them in Tizimin.

Be safe! I’ve lived through 3! Sandy gave me some flooding , No damage from Michael and Irma tore a whole lot of my stuff up 😂. I was terrified with Irma. I could feel my roof being pulled up and a suction feeling. Lots of clean up and repair but I survived. Be safe and be prepared! Don’t forget to put your important documents in a ziplock and all together. Passports etc, also have cash $$ in case power is out.

I’ve lived through 2 hurricanes and a flood… sometimes your water may be shut off (facet water) so make sure you fill your bathtub (if you actually have one in Mexico) or as many containers as you can, with water for bathing. If you have a pool, the water will be dirty with debris from the hurricane, but you can still use that water the flush your toilet, just make sure you take the debris out.
Also, have duct tape, you’ll need it to tape your windows if you don’t have ply wood or shutters. Tape large X’s (at least) across the windows so if they break it can help keep the glass somewhat together rather than flying around your house from the hurricane winds.

As a Floridan(by way of of Chicago) who hopes to move there, I would say take every precaution!!! Act as if a cat 5 is headed your way!!! It’s better to have it and don’t need it, then to need it and don’t have it!!! Generator, water, food, all of it!!!

The thing of the mindset “and you’re still going to stay there?” Is not necessarily a one place is better to deal with it in vs another given these weather related events are impactful in the US all the same, are people moving out of Florida, New Orleans, Houston en masse? No, sure some will move away but you go to the Midwest you’re gonna deal with tornado weather just as devastating or winter storms just as devastating lol no place on earth has fool proof climate indefinitely or every year. Best to prepare and not be caught under prepared and then mad cause the power went down or city infrastructure is overwhelmed due to a category four hurricane which they likely don’t routinely even get that often to begin with

You guys will be OK, Beryl is diminishing. All the more reason to live on the 2nd floor or in a high rise a good distance from the coast. You gotta have a land, tree or building barrier/buffer.
Consider solar or wind powered generators in the future. Gas & propane generators won't work if the lines are long or when they run out of fuels/gas. 🤔🙈

Charcoal, lighter fluid, and an outdoor grill may be helpful as an alternative method of food preparation. Stay safe!👍🏾

    • @donmiguel3790
      @donmiguel3790 3 месяца назад +2

Don't make the extra expense, especially in Mexico. Their charcoal lighter fluid has chemicals from the ethelyne family that spontaneously ignite with a flame, just as quickly as gasoline. Plus, avoid that charcoal fluid or gasoline flavor/residue on your BBQ meats, japs, onions, Roma tomatoes you throw on the grill.😋🥩🤔
Be safe, make a cone using kitchen paper towels, fold the bottom to keep the oil from coming out. Pour any kitchen cooking oil over the charcoal. One or two circles will do. Then fill the cone half way or less with the oil.
Ignite the topmost part of the paper towel cone you buried in the middle, center, of the charcoals on your grill.
Be patient and watch all the charcoal start to burn as the flame spreads out.

Well that hurricane just tore through the island of Carriacou and decimated it. I’m in Palm Springs and last year we had a hurricane downgraded to a tropical storm come through here last August. We’re still dealing with infrastructure damages from that and they’re calling it a 1000 year event. Never underestimate these things. We are now in the time climate scientists have been warning us about since the 1960’s. It’s here

I definitely disagree I'm sure it will not hurt those on social security but it's impact has affected those neighborhoods and communities that they are dropped off in and I'm pretty sure you don't see them much at all in yours. And for some reason I don't understand why you would think the immigrants only hold dangerous low-paying jobs. Those days are long gone they are not just picking your fruit and building your bridges the occupying your educational schools and institutions and hold some of the middle-class pain and high paying as well jobs also occupying governmental work sectors and are holding political seats. If you think that does not have a impact on Americans I do not know what to tell you. 🌄🦍☮️❤️
