    I leave the throttle connectors Off before connecting battery terminals. If the terminals last connection, it will discharge a bit.

    Having a shark battery in a rear bag is a lot more versatile than a rear rack battery. My UPP rear rack battery clunks around and seems heavier than my other packs. Great video.

    Torque brace should be on the front of the forks and the controller bag should have a small hole for the cables to feed through.

    I cannot find the video in the description for connecting the terminals to the battery wires, so you can connect to the controller. I looked twice before checked all comments to see if anyone else asked as well.

    Front hub motors should not normally be used because the front fork is not designed to be pulled by a motor and can eventually break off. Also a front hub is very unstable in loose dirt gravel and rain.

    Hello and thanks for the video. It's been a couple of years since I completed my installation on the violamart front hub motor. I have a flat tire and cannot not remember how to disconnect the front motor lead from the tire in the most easy manner. Obviously I don't want to mess up the motor. Can you advise?

      Yes. I had installed connectors to the controller box that I unplugged and fished out the old tire/tube over the wires and put the new one on. It was a little messy but it worked out okay.

      Hey, my friend! You can either learn to solder the connections, or you can just buy a separate battery cable. It's pretty cheap.

    There are no need to install torque arms, providing you Dremel/drill out a cavity for the hook washers to bed into.

    where is a on off switch on the battery my battery is live , went to plug it in and got a direct short to ground ,w t f , checked the on off button the twist grip ?, so there is no real on or off switch ,just the red push button , ? the instruction are less than vague, as i would have thought even with the red button on there would be no current drain untill you open the twist grip , i assume this is proportional

      Front hub motors are unstable in rain and gravel and dirt. They are also unsafe because the front fork is not designed for the pulling force of the motor and can eventually break off the front fork, possibly while at speed.

      Hello TheMatixen,
      Thanks! You can either get a bag like this www.amazon.com/dp/B07PD2MP59/?tag=expeditione05-20.
      These bags connect to rear rack with straps on bag. Or you can get some straps like these for better airflow on your battery. www.amazon.com/dp/B08MZYWQ3L/?tag=expeditione05-20

    I’ve installed several of these. Not one has been green to green, yellow to yellow, blue to blue. That usually results in the motor spinning backwards. I came to see which blue wire restricts it to 750W but couldn’t see that 😡

    So its illegal to use on anything but private property..........................750W is the legal limit for US street use. I rather have a 750W mid drive that allows to keep my gears, increasing the climb ability, and top speed. Both of with would be greater than a 1000w hub motor.

    • @expedition-electric3549
      @expedition-electric3549  3 года назад +2

      Yeah I hear you. I enjoy the feel of the mid drive over the hub drive and it does have other advantages, But I do get the exact same speed from 1000Watt rear hub drive as I do with the 1000Watt Mid Drive Conversion. Both reach 28mph

    • @bytemuncher1
      @bytemuncher1 2 года назад +1

      Sometimes you may not want to pedal. If you can have a bicycle AND a moped then why not? Also, geared hubs and mid-drives violate the principle of least complexity which sure as sh** means increased maintenance and t-shooting in the long run.
