- This is the second episode of my in universe DC universe podcast. It is called the Gotham city tonight podcast. In this episode, I’m going over Robin’s secret identity what Batman is and there is a guest appearance by the Riddler. The game in the background is Gotham Knights. I love making DC comics Content, and I intend to make more of these podcasts.

honestly joke/in universe podcasts are such an untapped goldmine. There is so much that can be done with them in terms of comedy while also serving as a neat way to recap/talk about superhero events or characters, just like a real podcast but with a fresh twist.

100%. I used to listen to Hello From the Magic Tavern which was kinda a similar concept but in a fantasy world. I would 100% listen to something like this.

does earth know that like at all? we know there are a bunch of people who are "green lantern", most of them have similar powers, and sometimes they disappear for a while. the fact the guardians police the ENTIRE universe with moralist space cops that patrol whole sectors of space is crazy! the fact that they have more or less been in charge of the universe in one way or another since the big bang. the guardians and the green lanterns must have faced off countless alien races vying for control of the cosmos and yet are taken down and essentially destroyed by one american in an afternoon.

Not to mention you can't talk about Superman without Clark Kent. Like a significant chunk of sites and articles directly cite the Daily Planet and, by extension, Clark Kent's work when talking about Superman.

This whole "Robin is a parasitic-demon that brainwashed The Batman" Theory is convoluted at best. Obviously, Batman is a vampire that turned Robin when he was a teenager! They only work at night, Robin hasn't aged in 15 years, there are already undead in Gotham (Re; Solomon Grundy), and don't forget THE BAT THEME!

And those Bats disappear like nothing else! Poof! As if they go up in smoke! That's just not natural.
I have a couple of those metal thingymajigs, I find them occasionally on my walk home from dock work (they make for mean can openers), and while they look well-made, I think it's just another diversion. What need would a pack of VAMPIRES have for ranged weapons if they can just turn into a cloud of bats and swarm through the city? Same thing with those hookshot things, what do they need those for when they can FLY? The throwables don't even seem to be good at their supposed jobs, they look all sleek and crap but I've tried throwing them dozens of times but they are impossible to aim, and all I have to show for it now are a bunch of slices in my drywall. I think they're using impractical 'weapons' in a bid to hide their supernatural nature.
You may not believe me, but that's your choice. I've been taking garlic bread to work for MONTHS now and I haven't been attacked! The boss says he can't stand the smell, and I really hate to get on his scarred side, but I'm just doing what I need to protect myself.

The idea of in world podcasters having to consider legal liability for having escaped super villains on their show is amazing.

Look, i don't wanna say too much, cause the goonion might see this, but I've done some henching for villains around here for a while. Back in the day, i was in Iran for a job, and all the Joker needed to beat Robin was a crowbar and some doctor chick. Trust me, i think the fact that we still have a Robin is reason enough to assume that the Batman either recruits orphans or has some sort of unholy power.

The idea that Robin is a demon is absolutely ridiculous! There is someting to be said for Batman recruiting orphans though. I was saved by Robin twice now. First time at the Joker's massacre at Gotham park. Robin was this teenage boy, about 15-16, really polite, made sure I was okay, just a golden retriever of a kid. Second time was a few weeks ago when Mr. Zsasz hijacked the train I was on. Definitelya diferent kid. Shorter, looked about 13 (which was the wierd part caise it'd been a few years since the last time he'd saved me), had a nasty temper. I waved at him after everything was taken care of, and he flipped me off.

@@willmangrum3686 There are multiple Robins but they're not orphans. There's an underground cult of the rich and powerful in Gotham, they worship the Bat and offer their children as sacrifices. The Bat takes the children and uses them as its underlings.
I would love the podcast to cover something like Poison Ivy creation, or how Mr freeze is actually a member of an Antarctic race that rules from behind the scenes or smth
There are a lot of Ice themed villains in DC, enough to support this theory
And Santa Claus is the father/progenitor of this race but they suffered a schism that resulted in the Arcticans and Antarcticans. Also all that nonsense about "Atlanteans" is nonsense.

Gotham UNI student here! 1. Kind of funny you got Riddler on the podcast to me since he turned some people on campus into rats inside an hamster wheel last year. 2. If Robin's a demon, he's the kindest little weirdo I've ever met. Back when he was still rocking the middle cut he talked me out of throwing my thesis into the Gotham Harbor. I think.
i had that too! im majoring in genetics, and in exchange for some free food and coffee at the coffee shop i work at (on the east side of campus - best croissants in town) he'd assist me with the part about cloning and my thesis on the ethics of it.

I personally belive robin is a human who has made a deal with the demon that is batman, which grants him inhumane strength and eternal youth, in exchange to being his helper
I think he might not have gained eternal youth but instead the ability to become as young as he wants. Think about it, it feels like every few years he goes from being 16 to being 12
I just think Fictional In-Universe Podcasts can just be a fun content idea overall and I’m more surprised why nobody else has tried to do it yet
Ducktales 2017 did it pretty briefly; other than that, I don't know of any others that have tried. It's definitely an untapped market for sure!
At best, we get podcasts OF a certain franchise specifically, but never it seems IN a certain franchise.

I would offer a rebuttal to the "Robin is a demon" theory: I would expect a conservative podcast like yours to bring up religious iconography. I propose that Robin isn't extra-dimensional, but rather extra-terrestrial. The colors in Robin's costume are almost identical to the so-called Martian Manhunter.

THIS! I have heard Martians are shape shifters, and that explains so much, I read reports that alternately describe Robin as White or Arab looking, with some even suggesting it was actually a girl who attacked them. Sure, it was dark, but that can't account for every difference.

Guy from CCPD here again, I know some guys who administrate a foster home in Gotham, they told me that Bruce Wayne goes there sometimes to look for talented kids, and I've been wondering, what if Bruce Wayne, Batman, and every other pearson with resources is part of a group that exchange those kids?
Wayne has like 40 adopted kids man it's not that deep. I think he's fucked up over his parents and trying to make his own family as cope. Not the healthiest coping mechanism but at least it's not hurting anyone

I was going to visit my aunt who lives there in January, but I'm worried about running into him. Anyways, great podcast as always. I wasn't able to listen to the end because of work, but I'm sure Riddler was a blast to have on the show.

What a nice Christmas Present you gave your listeners! Don't let Riddler's conspiracies get to you, he was put in Arkham for a reason. However, I have my fair share of doubt regarding your whole Demon theory. Gotham has been inhabited for a couple hundred years and crime has always been more or less of a constant around here, but the Bat has only been active for the past 15 or so years. If he (Or Robin for that matter) was a demon, he would have always been around

What are you talking about? There are descriptions of creatures similar to Batman dating back thousands of years. Whackjobs insist the Justice League invented time travel, but that's just insane, no way in hell a goody-to-shoes like Superman would let the injustices of history happen if he could change them

What is going on with the joker. I get the guy has a few screws loose but you know he use to just do quirky stuff like patent a fish smile for money, or hold the mayor hostage with a whoope cushion. Now he’s all guns and explosions. Now I can’t confirm this but apparently he at one point peeled of his face and now it’s perfectly fine, he looks completely different every couple years. Like what’s going on is the Batman killing him is it a cult?
Listen Ive worked for robin for many years, he is not a demon, he has a curse on him, he was cursed to every day have a percentage chance to change age, sometimes race and gender too, when this happens he loses his past memories but keeps his base desire, helping people, he's here to help but due to the curse usually needs some supervision, this is why robin has gotten younger multiple times, older a few times, different race a few times, different gender a few times, I feel so bad for the poor guy, and now you're calling him a demon, and stay away from riddler; he's kinda a mass murder, manipulator, and clinically insane villain, and queen's razors are incredible I also use them.

I so want to do a Spin off podcast, this is something i've wondered myself, props to you, you did it. However, I thought it would be funny to do it in El Paso, and be some dude obsessing over the Blue Beatle, and everyone calling in to troll him. Then getting HiFinn on as the "super guest" one day, to discuss how Blue Beatle is actuallly Bruce Wayne too lol.

I have another theory. So ya know how robin seems to change personality every once in awhile? Well Ive noticed that when these changes happen, another hero pops up. Nightwing, and Red Robin are the main examples. Therefore whoever's robin must be changing over time so Robin stays young.

@@NintendoNun It hasn’t happened that much. I think there’s only been 4 or 5 permanent changes total for Robin. And the heroes can’t be from alternate dimensions, otherwise why would they stay? Wouldn’t they have their own gothams?

Condiment King should come trying to get himself out there as a villain only so the host can bully him by saying they have a more important caller, then Caller ends up bullying the Host. Booster Gold seems fitting he seems like he would do a podcast. His would probably be more popular too and he would bully this host by advertising his own podcast here.

Tbh, I feel like one day, the joker breaks into the studio and takes over for a short special about the villains, like he talks about Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn relationship for a second, with the next him doing a Q&A on his jokes, and finally tells his plans to blow up Gotham or something.
And then batman and robin come bursting in to stop his evil plot!
I've been working with the Joker for years now and trust me, that Batman is definitely a demon/devil of some kind

The upload was cut short and delayed 24 hours due to "technical difficulties", during which time the podcast channel was hacked and the full uncut recording was posted.
Also, the "About Us" page was filled with a 3 paragraph tirade on journalistic ethics filled with bird puns that, when printed over the previous day's evening issue of the Gotham Gazette, page A5, and folded into an origami swan, spelled out "...black. ...canary in a coal mine. The idea of the lone hero... ...will not save the bank... ...parking lot, let alone the people in it."
3 days later, 38 cars in the Gotham Nation Bank parking lot were destroyed or severely damaged when Black Canary chased an unidentified woman in a very revealing green spandex outfit through it.
Theory: Wonder Woman doesn't fly an invisible jet, she was jealous of a lot of Batman's tech so she flies in a sitting position...Why would Wonder Woman need a jet anyways we she flies next to Superman all the time?!

I studied the red hood for a college paper and noticed that after the chemical plant, his body shape, personality, even the helmet changed completely, it’s possible that the red hood we see today is the son of the one who fell into the chemicals or some copycat

Can we get a podcast about the ethics of Dr. Freeze keeping his wife in frozen stasis. I mean, if you look at Gotham as its own world with its own rules it makes sense why he did it, but Gotham is just a small part of the DC Universe. Like, there are about 20 different ways he could help his wife if he just left Gotham. Option 1, melt her, kill her and then make a deal with a demon or something because Hell is real and you can go there and get back if you know the right people. Option 2, work with the league of assassins, see if they'd be willing to dip Nora's ice cube into the Lazarus pit and boom, fixed wife. Option 3, find a way to get into contact with some aliens who have healing powers or something. Like, there's a million and one things that could probably work if he just asked somebody for help, but Dr. Freeze has this weird, "I have to do it," mentality. All he has to do is ask the right people for help and Nora would be cured.
Does mr freeze and the general population know about all that stuff though?
@@Greenphantom16 Well in Superman Vs the Elite one of the characters explicitly calls out Superman's weakness to magic and says, "everybody knows he's weak to magic." Maybe "everybody" is just people who generally know about magic, but there are a lot of villains, and heroes, who explicitly use magic so I would think that more people would know about it. I don't really have anything to back up the general knowing about Hell or the Greek Gods being real though.

Gotta say, really clever jab at the “I know an insider” argument. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure that at least some people who say that legitimately do know someone on the inside, but unless you have evidence to back it up (even if the person is telling the truth) the argument is pretty much the equivalent of saying “source: trust me, bro”
