    Neil! I got my diagnosis! Dr Boster is AMAZING! Yes. I DO have MS. Aubagio will be my first med. But Dr B is fantastic! I know you wanted to hear... so there you go. HUG to you both!

      I'm so pleased you got to meet Dr B!! That is just awesome! I am however sorry to hear about your diagnosis as it's never what anybody wants to hear, but .. at least now you have answers and you can move forward, and with a treatment plan as well. I wish you luck and good health. Sending hugs, and thank you J for letting us know.

    Watching your latest video, Neil and Teresa.
    I'm sorry you've been up and down, Neil. But I'm glad you've been persuaded to do another video.
    I have misseed you both.
    I've been in self-isolation since late March, but I have kept myself occupied watching previously unwatched DVD's, watching RUclips Channels, listening to podcasts, reading, etc.
    Like Teresa said, it's how you deal with these things. I've beenj speaking to Mum daily too, and when my Brother picks my Nephew up from his Mum's, he comes to say hello, at the kitchen, so that's good.
    You two are lovely people. Your videos are always like being with friends, watching you on the telly. Keep safe. :)

      Hi Dean, and thank you for your kind words.. they are very much appreciated. I'm pleased to hear your keeping yourself occupied. With all this tech now available to us via the Internet, there's always something to keep us interested isn't there. It's the same for me. Good to hear your keeping in touch with family, even if it is through the kitchen window lol, but that's sensible at the moment. Like you, we're also in touch with my Mum every day as she lives on her own and we do our best to keep an eye on her.
      Stay safe and be well my friend - Neil & Tree.

    Good to hear from you both. I can guess how you are really finding life behind your smiles. It is hard, for both of you, very hard. There is no help for it but to keep putting one foot before the other and muddling through is there. The love you share and are surrounded with is the golden lining.
    I hope Neil when you get off the high steroid dose, you feel more energized and I hope Teresa you get some more answers about your overall pain.
    ❤ Sending love as always❤

    • @NeilBradleyMS

      Thank you Willow .. quite rightly we do try to be upbeat and smile best we can, but honestly life is difficult at the moment. We have a lot of family issues, not to mention health as well. Nothing will break us though, because as you say we have true love which is never ending.
      I'm slowly tapering the steroids down, but I'm not feeling great to be honest, the stiff muscles in my back and my misbehaving knees make putting one foot in front of the other so terribly difficult at the moment.
      Much love to you and Rod - Neil & Tree xx

    Hi guys. Oh my gosh you two had me cracking up. What a joy to watch. You made my morning brighter 😊 I am so sorry about your friends loss. This Covid is serious stuff but glad you’re making the best of it. I live in California, USA but I decided to quarantine with my daughters and grandchildren in Arizona, which is one state to the East of California. We are having a great time together as both daughters have swimming pools out here. A lot of bonding going on and I am so happy I am not alone. I started working in a salon last year and it was shut down by our governor due to covid. My health has been better than the last time we talked. A few speed bumps here and there along the way but I am still here! So good to see you both💕Thanks for the video😊

      Hey there, I'm super happy to hear that your health has improved since the last time we spoke, this is great news. Sounds like your having a great time with your daughters and grand kids. My daughter also works in a Salon locally, and like you it has had to temporarily shut down due to Covid. She has only been there this last couple of years and has been doing an apprenticeship and working really hard. I sincerely hope the business survives Covid-19 as she has worked so hard to get to where she is now. Good to hear from you, stay safe and well. xx

    Hi Neil & Theresa !! 😊 it’s so good to hear from you , so glad you’re both well . Things are ok at my end too , just staying indoors and trying to keep as active as possible in the day. I try not to watch too much news , I do listen to the daily press conference , and a little bit of the news here & there , but I try to minimise exposure as I noticed my ms symptoms were flaring up a bit more as I was feeling stressed whilst listening /watching the news !! I understand exactly what it feels like to have a stiff back , I suffer with this too , and my right calf gets really stiff & sort of tenses /seizes up when I’m walking (it’s so annoying 😬 !!! Look after yourselves, take care , lots of love, Grace 😊.

    • @NeilBradleyMS
      @NeilBradleyMS  4 года назад +1

      Hello Grace, as always it's lovely to hear from you. We've eased off listening to the daily updates now on Covid, we used to make a point of catching them every day but not at the moment. It's probably a good idea you have eased off with news input also especially if this is flaring your symptoms.
      Oh yes, the stiff back muscles are just the worst thing ever because they are what balances me when I walk, not only that my knee's smash backwards when I try and walk with no control so that doesn't help either. It's all just a vicious circle, and nothing works in sync like it should be doing. I see that you also suffer with this, and your calf as well.. yes very annoying isn't it. Take care and much love to you - Neil & Tree xx

      I’ve just signed a petition online called # end the trade (it’s to stop all the wet market trade that occurs in places like China ), that’s led to zootropic viruses such as covid19. I’ve missed seeing and hearing from you both! Thanks Teresa for encouraging Neil to make a video! And Neil, I’m sorry you’ve been struggling with a lack of motivation- I completely understand how tough that is, especially as you’ve probably got so many factors contributing to it between the medication, lockdown and whatever else. You did a great job with this video though, maybe it’ll be a bit easier now! I find my motivation comes in waves, where I’ll be motivated and consistent for a while...and then I fall off the horse and don’t post for a couple of months! (The worst one was about 9 months in 2018 🙈). I’m glad you’ve found a medication that’s helping a bit, but sounds like you and Teresa have both been dealing with a lot of pain and discomfort overall and I’m really sorry to hear that. Also, I’m glad the pulse ox has been helpful, but I’m sorry you’ve needed it- those sorts of heart rates can be energy exhausting in themselves on top of everything else and can feel quite unsettling. Anyway, I enjoyed all of the little stories in this and the clips that you put in, really enjoyed watching it!

    • @NeilBradleyMS
      @NeilBradleyMS  4 года назад +1

      Hey Georgina, how lovely it is to hear from you. And, thank you for your kind words they are very much appreciated.. I did work hard on the video even though it took me like forever 🤷‍♂️
      Yes, it's the same for me .. sometimes I do lots of videos all in quick succession but then nothing for months. As I'm sure you can also appreciate, there is a such a lot of hard work goes into the video process, and then I like to respond to every comment too.
      I'm super happy you enjoy the video and all of our little stories etc. I'm not sure if you recall but you sent me the link to the exact meter you used, and I purchased the same one. I find it really useful, and keep it close by .. another handy gadget Teresa picked up a while back was our own blood pressure monitor. The steroids tend to play havoc with all of these things, so it's nice to have technology on hand.
      Take care Georgina,
      Very best to you - Neil & Teresa. 😊

    We did miss you two. We are on lockdown as well. My husband and I also care for my 91-year-old mother who lives next door. With a new title of extremely vulnerable, we are being cautious as well. It is a difficult time for all of us. I am keeping busy with journaling and keeping in touch with a group of seniors from our church. We are praying for everyone to use good sense and stay home. I will have a phone visit with my MS doctor next week. I will have a video visit with a cardiologist in May because I have been having high blood pressure. The weather is changing and I have been more tired as well. I have begun napping more during each day. I am very sensitive to temperature change. I hope you begin feeling stronger. I will begin using our air conditioning soon. Tapering off your meds will certainly impact how you feel. The meds you are taking are very strong and the side effects are terrible. I really dislike taking steroids. Take care. We enjoy hearing about how you are doing.

    • @NeilBradleyMS
      @NeilBradleyMS  4 года назад

      Hi Kerri, you certainly do have a lot on your plate not only with your own health but also caring for your mother. It is a blessing nevertheless to still have her with you. I don't like taking the Steroids for such a long period of time either, I worry about what the higher sugar levels (caused by the steroids) is doing. I do however try and appreciate the good that the steroids are also doing, however at the moment I'm not feeling that great. The stiff muscles is my back are just terrible and they stop me from mobilising, but not only that my knees don't work.. they smash backwards when I TRY and walk. Feel like giving up sometimes. Blessings to you and your husband. Be well - Neil.

    Hi Neil
    I hope you read my comment ans answer me.
    I'm a male 34 years old, from North Africa, so MS isn't really common in our region as in Europe,
    So in 2017 i started to have pain in my back, and went to the Dr, it turned out i have slipped disc
    I didn't understand what it was, so I lived in fear for a couple of months, and I'm living abroad as a student alone and i was panicking because of it and put so much stress and anxiety on my self, and during this time i started to have strange sensory symptoms, like burning sensations in my legs, arms, stomach, chest and sometimes face.
    I thought it's the slipped disc but it continued, i was scared i might have slipped disc in my neck.
    I went to the neurologist, and i told him about my symptom, and he told me I'm not worried of that you might have neck disc, i'm afraid you might have MS, we need to do MRI, I got even more stressed , and i didn't have money to do the MRI right away, and i remember the symptoms got worse because i was in extreme stress , it was only burning sensation, prickling sensation here and there., mostly sensory, and then he did full spinal cord MRI to me and it was clear. i told him why not the brain ? he said if there was something wrong, it would have been shown in your spine, and he gave me some anti depressants.
    the symptoms didn't stop for almost a year, i went to see another neurologist, i told her about my story and i told her i'v been having the burning sensation for a year. she said this is not the pattern of MS, but I can't tell what's causing this symptom for you, it might be stress.
    now we're in 2020, the symptom is still there , so basically since 2017 I have this symptom which is mostly burning sensation. I'm trying to ignore it since i'v done the MRI and it came back clear and I don't really have any other symptoms related to MS. I do have some twitches also which I told the Dr about, she said if you don't have any muscle weakness then it's nothing.
    But I can't live in Peace, I keep coming back to Google, RUclips to check . nothing scares me right now in my life than the idea of being potentially with MS but not diagnosed.
    what I can do ? and what do you think ? can this burning sensation that lasted 3 years, be MS ?
    and as I said I don't have other issues, some neck stiffness and that's all.
    PLEASE HELP .

    You're going to have a stranger visit, that's what a bumble bee in your house means x

      Hi Dawnie, ohhhh I didn't know that! Thanks :) We've been getting these huge bumble Bee's and they get all confused and can't get out lol. We obviously help and encourage them the best we can, until off they go again. However from time to time they do a vanishing act, we can still hear they're angry BUZZing but can't find them. I try and capture them with a pint glass and a piece of card, then gently let them go. They really are lovely to be honest, love seeing my first bumble bee in Spring. Best to you Dawnie. I hope all is well with you, and your staying safe from this horrible Covid-19 virus - Neil & Tree x

    Hello it's good to see you are both staying safe at home :D Do you drink tea/coffee and drinks with caffine in ? If you do, you maybe need to try to reduce your caffine intake especially while on the prednisolone . Caffine increases the heart rate so if combined with the pred tablets it will potentially make things worse. You cannot mess around with your heart Neil and pains in your jaw are not a good sign, have you mentioned them to your GP ? Your Clonazepam are a pottential cause of your tiredness by the way they can cause fatigue pretty badley .
    Also this one is for you Teresa your aches and tiredness are possibly to do with the ... peri - menopause ( this can go on for many years before true menopause) or early stages of the menopause. I only know because one of my humans has had many problems with such things :D
    At least you only had a bumble bee and a starling. We had a huge wasp in the loft and it had started to make a nest !!!!!!!
    Take care and it was nice to see you both :D Teddy

      Hi Teddy, how lovely to hear from you .. thank you for having a "wander" over :) Yes I do like my Coffee especially in a morning, thanks for the info especially whilst on Pred, I didn't know that.. caffeine has quite an impact on our bodies in lots of different ways. I've tried the De-Caf coffee and it's just not the same, no real taste to it me.
      I've weened myself off the Clonazepam, but it's probably still in my system.. still feeling very tired. Thing is, I do feel it's a good drug and it helps me sleep and with the stiff muscles etc. I tend to experiment with the drugs I'm prescribed, I never just take them at the dose the Docs prescribe, I always introduce them slowly and monitor myself.
      Thanks Teddy for Teresa's info, she was in fact the one that read out your message when it came through on the iPad. She passes on her thanks.
      As for Wasps, well .. last year we actually did have a nest in the attic which was inaccessible!. We had to have somebody round to spray this "stuff" from the outside where they were going in through the roof. We kept having several baby wasps "appear" in different rooms inside the house, every day.. it was a nightmare. We had to keep calling pest control back, three times I think in total.. it really was a difficult problem though. Finally the problem calmed down and we've been waiting for Spring to see if there is any sign of them again, fingers crossed so far nothing.
      Best regards - Neil & Tree

    Question...have your doctors mentioned nerve blocks and or Botox injections in my spine? They do a huge improve the in nerve pains in my migraines neck and shoulders.

    • @NeilBradleyMS
      @NeilBradleyMS  4 года назад +1

      Hi Michelle, no they've not mentioned anything like that. I'm not in terrible pain everyday, today for example (So far) is a good day. The very hot weather brings on a Neurological condition called "Uhthoff's Phenomenon" which is where when the core body temp rises just a little, symptoms worsen. I've got quite a few videos on it. I'm worried if I had anything like a nerve block it would just turn the little bit of strength I've got left in my left to mush, so I'm not sure I'd be willing to take the risk. I really appreciate your thoughts though, and of course watching so many of our videos. Thank you so much.

      Neil Bradley MS well nerve blocks block the nerve not muscle tissue. So the pain you feel in the back is coming from nerves that make your back tighten up the muscles. Nerve blocks in my skull at the right place instantly stop the intense migraine pain. But I still have full use of my head, neck and scalp muscles. Just in case you wondered. I wish you well. I can’t tolerate the heat either. I start to feel like puking, my skin itches and I get instant migraines. Hmmmm when do I not have migraines. I’m in a hot mess of them since my er visit. I see my Rheumatologist today. Fingers crossed.

    Hi. Just want to say I really like to watch you guys. I have been shielding as well due to Azathioprine and prednisolone usage for a condition called behcets. I am really worried now that shielding is ending, I will have to return to work in a busy factory in a few weeks. What are your thoughts on shielding ending with the vurus still in circulation? Thanks for your videos - before I started Azathioprine I watched your video and it gave me confidence.

      Hi Luke, like you I’m on Azathioprine and Prednisolone so we both have very compromised immune systems. It’s a worry, because if we were to catch any kind of virus, it will take us much longer to fight it off and get better. Thus, making us very much more susceptible and vulnerable. I can understand your worry about going back to work and shielding, I would be anxious too if i were In your situation. I think as long as everybody is sensible and self isolates if they are unwell and you continue to distance yourself from people best as possible. Eventually you’ll get your confidence back after returning to work and maintaining your health (hopefully). It’s a slow process.

    Fibro and OA seem to cohabitate / do you take an anti inflammatory Teresa? I have both too. I’d be lost without my Inza. I just bought a blue shield emf plug in to stop emf affecting the body. Starting to feel better today on day 4.

      Hello Andrea, Teresa in the past has taken anti-inflammatories but they've seriously not agreed with her, so she's had to stop. She's tried to cope best she can with everyday pain killers etc.

    Neil as an old RN my advice please don’t muck around with that heart stuff. Ask dr if you could take a cardiac aspirin daily. Call an ambo if it gets bad mate.

    • @NeilBradleyMS

      Thanks for your concern Andrea, the pain is random and weird I have to say but I feel sure its side effects of the Prednisilone steroids I'm taking (I've research it). In all honesty, just the thought of going to hospital fills me with dread, Teresa wouldn't be able to accompany me (hospital rules) and I'd feel totally isolated and stranded because of being so immobile. I probably shouldn't but at this moment it's just a risk I'm prepared to take. However, I know the level of pain it usually reaches, and I am sensible so it ever it got worse I would call for help.

      Hi Andrea, we've tried to get groceries delivered but it's impossible to get a delivery slot as they're constantly all taken. If it wasn't for my brother not sure what we'd do, well I suppose we'd have to fetch it ourselves.

    Have you tried Flexerell?

    • @NeilBradleyMS
      @NeilBradleyMS  4 года назад

      I haven't tried this drug, and I've not heard of it either so just done a quick "Dr Google" .. I see that it's a muscle relaxant. Now this is a tricky one, I take something similar called Clonazepam which is a Benzo, but it's excellent and it does "soften" the muscles (which are like concrete) in my back and helps me a lot. But it's a double edged sword, because it also weakens my already weak muscles so I have to be really REALLY careful. On the plus side, it's also a sedative so it's helps with sleep too, and when things are really I can take two which literally knocks me out lol.

      Neil Bradley MS it’s what I’ve been taking for12 years. For fibromyalgia. My doctor said if a 1/4 a tablet helps ease the pain or a scrape of it on your teeth with your then do what you can to lower pain. Higher pain levels tighten us up more. For 5 years just a 1/4=tablet helped now I take one tablet as needed.hubby takes them for a different ailment from his doctor and they make him zombie emotionless the next day but help him sleep.i don’t get tired from them now and never got the zombie affect or emotionless affect.
