It's really sad to see icons of ridiculous beauty from a past time rot away, forgotten to all but people who actually care. I wish more people than just us gear heads and car fanatics would devote some time to bring back these beautiful reminders of a past time.
That's some funky green stuff you got growing there. It looks like these are in a swamp. I bet if you tried to move one of these beauties it would just fall apart from sitting in such a damp environment for so long! It's obvious that these have been untouched for quite some time now, being that most look very complete and with the amount of that funky green stuff everywhere. Great pics!
It breaks my heart to see these classics slowly beeing forgoten in some woods. I agree most are beyond salvage but think about how many useable parts are still sitting there. Bumpers, door handles and head lights. Those items don't give up that easily...
@deathcoltd , I love people like you. You see the car its self and not the work thats invoved to restore it. If I had a chance Id get each and everyone of those cars to where we could say theres still hope in them. What Im seeing in this vid is really more than a crying shame. Those rides fully restored, would be jewels on wheels. Watching that vieo hurts. Everybody thats into cars would know exactly what me and "deathcoltd", are talkin about. You´re a great guy.
i have a 1956 patrician i rescued from the crusher. it still ran great, and it runs and drives nice now! if only i had a digital video camera so i could upload it here!
i absolutely love the classics and am sad to seethis happen to them. Some of the cars look better sitting where they are than a lot of cars i've driving on the road. Bring back the classics or at least donate them for restoration!!
in South Africa, when people wanted to replace their old cars with new one's, the cheapest option was to push it into a valley or deep into a forest. all I.D. was removed from the car.. really amazing pics come from them 50-60 years later =)
Seeing cars like this from the past, bring a tear to my eye, if I had the money and the time to fix these cars I would most definitely do it. God it sucks only being 20 and broke lol
Sad to see them rust but you also have to remember that from a realistic restoration standpoint unless its EXTREMELY RARE and well worth your money invested to restoration, most of these cars should they ever make it out, will become AMAZING parts donors. I've made a good bit of change buying peoples wrecks and projects and parting them out, and that part goes on to keep one more classic on the road instead of being melted down for scrap.
this is...like...the saddest! and if you think about it...imagine those cars is the 40s, 50s alive and well and neat-dressed men behind the wheel...with the whole family in the back seat...the supremes on the radio....unbelievable...
If I ever went to one of these junkyards I'd be an emotional wreck...I'm cryin' already :'( Poor cars. All they do is serve us and this is how we thank them....UGH!!!
It's amazing to think that these cars would've once been parked in someone's drive-way; taken to a diner or drive-in movie; they could have even been driven on someone's first date way back in the day. Now they're buried in brush; covered in moss and forgotten. I was born in the 90's and even I feel reminiscent right now :P
Some people restore old cars and these cars take to the exposure (classic cars meeting) and others leave the cars. I prefer to restore an old car. Great video!
Magnifiques images d'un paradis aux épaves, j'aime !! Le retour de la nature sur les créations de l'homme, avec des patines fabuleuses !! Great pictures man !!
this vid made me cry more than lion kind, titanic and all other sad movies have ever done :( what cruel persons can do things like this to such beauties????? :'(
I consider myself a huge fan of american cars, produced around 50s to 90s, and seeing this brings a tier into my eye. I wish i could afford to buy those cars because when they are restored i can't afford to own one and seeing my favourable cars in such condition, makes me sad because knowing that those cars aren't produced nowadays is a horrifying thought.
The excitement of looking at what can Hajimemashite BGM is the best photos. What is this song BGM tracks what anyone says! ? Kindly let me know. Excuse my English.
On 0:47 , if you take off the body parts and ebay them in the condition they are, how much would you get? If you restore it, would you have to buy a new engine?
One thing always goin through my mind is where in the world did you find these cars??? In what state and what city was that in within that state?? Id like more than anything else if someone could answer me those couple of questions!! Id be really greatful for a honest reply.
these cars are beautiful. anytime i see an abandoned car i think of the ppl who owned it and the memories they made of had. a kid with his first car. family vehicles that were top of the line. just sucks they are all overgrown and forgotten. do you know where the first car you showed in this video is parked?
I’d rather drive an exterior rusted and scruffy as hell interior 1950s American car than some modern thing, I don’t care. I’d show the car love and compassion and restore it and I’d never part from it, especially a ‘57 Chevy Bel Air Coupe.
they don't look like they are in the junkyard, but somewhere in the middle of a jungle! lol, but great vid! very fitting song! awesome work! sad to see such classic cars like this! but thanks for sharing!
That's correct this song was recorded around 1960 on the old decca lable(i think),and then rerecorded in the 1980's and became a #1 hit for Freddy.this is the early 1960 verson.
(It's so sad!) Pls translate and read this comment! ;)
wow man i have seen alot of abandoned cars but holy shit man how did these get so much moss growing on them, what state were these taken in had to be near washington oregon area. GREAT VID man and if the song is supposed to be from the cars point of view you nailed it spot on
I'm one of those guys that put his money where his mouth is. In 1994 I pulled a 1957 Chrysler Imperial Crown 4 door Hardtop from a field out in Loma Linda California. 392 Hemi. The car has a few rust holes, but is not a rust bucket. Interior is bad but all there for patterns and reupholstering. Every mechanical part is there. It is in the back of my garage. Funny part, I have only sat in it ONE time, to steer it into my garage. Some day I will get to it!!!
Most of these cars are beyond any form of rescue - unless you were willing to fabricate most of the car. Love the way the foliage just enshouds tham and reclaims them.
I live in New York, Country areas and the back woods have countless cars with moss all over them. I just wonder what the rule is for which ways north if the moss in on the truck though.
I almost cried when I found a 52 Ferrari in the woods. I was fucking screaming that someone did this. Jesus christ. I almost called a towing company to come all the way out to the middle of no where, and revive a legend. Fuck man:[
It's really sad to see icons of ridiculous beauty from a past time rot away, forgotten to all but people who actually care. I wish more people than just us gear heads and car fanatics would devote some time to bring back these beautiful reminders of a past time.
It is sad too think that at some time each of these cars was someone's pride and joy.
They would each have a personal history attached to them.

even in that shape they're full of beauty

Forget the ASPCA commercials with Sara McLaughlin singing.... this video took its place as the biggest heartbreaker out there. :-(
i absolutely love the classics and am sad to seethis happen to them. Some of the cars look better sitting where they are than a lot of cars i've driving on the road. Bring back the classics or at least donate them for restoration!!
I had a 53 Packard Clipper Straight Eight, boy do I miss that car.
I would save them all if I could.

Every time you buy a hybrid a classic car gets scrapped

sad to see all that beauty go to waste
jeez, let these beauties rest in peace!
What a really sad waste of some beauties.
Shedding a tear for these lost metal souls.
I consider myself a huge fan of american cars, produced around 50s to 90s, and seeing this brings a tier into my eye. It makes me sad watching all these cars rust away :(
Anyone any idea which version of 'Wasted Days' this is? I need to get a copy. Thanks.

William Peters well I looked again and well my second guess would be the valiant.
does anyone know the rules about salvaging an old car that you find in the woods, i know of a few in my area but don't want to get in trouble?

@DieWolfen I do believe it's a 1958 Cadillac Series 60S Fleetwood.
00.47 what a beast. That deserves a showroom restoration.
That's correct this song was recorded around 1960 on the old decca lable(i think),and then rerecorded in the 1980's and became a #1 hit for Freddy.this is the early 1960 verson.

@Xardax69 Hi, It is 1958 Cadillac - probably model Fleetwood - very nice car....
this is the only video on youtube that brought a tear to my eye so sad ,
