i grew up in the 60s and always loved these american classics so i purchased a 1955 olds super 88 2 years ago and love it, i plan to keep it till the end of my days!
Most of these, " Junkyard Videos" have, mostly, GM,Ford, or Chrysler products. to my pleasant surprise, the cars, from 2:02-23, are all Packards!!! My favorite make of old car. thanks for the Post!!!! it will be added to my favorites!!!!!
At 1:23 there is a Mercury Monterey from the early 60s. That brought back some good memories. I had a 1967 Mercury Monterey in high school the same color. It was a great car.
This is why i am glad that i am 15, and i have 2 classic cars that were given to me. ( NO JOKE ). A 1974 Mercury Montego MX, and a 1973 Lincoln Continental Mark 4. that both need restoration. and im gonna bring em back to their original setups.
these poor beauties. we should try to save these classics. there what made america great. someone was once proud to drive them and now look at them. just rusting metal now.
The name of the first song is "I Think Of You" by Rudy Grayzell. It was recorded in 1957 at Sam Phillips Sun Records Studio in Memphis, Tenn ----- Elivis Presley's first record label.
1:47 is a 1964 Mercury park lane 4dr. Hardtop. It has the rare Breezeway retractable rear window.1:47 is a 1958 Lincoln in the Capri or Premiere series. The Continental Mark III has a different grill.
Pretty much all the cars in the first 40 seconds are 50's Cadillacs. I guess some of these pictures are fairly old cos I can't believe there are still 64 Impala coupes and convertibles still sitting anywhere they could be found. All those '59 Caddies - heartbreaking! At 3.30 notice those radiused rear fenders on that Galaxie - bet that's been drag raced!
me and my friends keep going in the woods near their house and finding more and more parts to a cobra in cluding the half complete engine fenders and other small parts
Sad but some of them could be saved, I want to ask you something, Is that junkyard working today? and if it is posible, where is it?, thanks for the video.
Can anyone please tell me what that car is in the foreground and to the right of that Buick I just mentioned? It almost looks the the back end of a Tucker, but I find that hard to believe.
The saddest thing in the world besides child abuse and animal neglect are amazing cars, rusting away, slowly, no one to save them due to space, or money. :(
You just can watch this video once, you have to go back and look at every car there, after one car slide goes you immediatly think of what car it was, and by the time you figure out what car it is, you watched it 50 times, any way great video. Who does the first song, i know the second one is jim reeves yonder comes a suck. Any way great video
my dad has a 59 caddy which im glad to say is in much better shape then these poor caddys but ours is currently of the road and has been for about 16 years due to a seized engine. sadly i have never been in the car when it has moved under its own power maybe some day i will be able to get the long awaited ride in what i think a cool car.
I don't know what's behind the 1954 Buick, that, by the way is a Roadmaster, The four," portholes" were only used on Roadmasters,in '54. but, the car in the foreground, this is an educated guess, could be a 1951-3 Kaiser Traveler. I am going by the piece of metal sticking out past the bumper They had a two piece tailgate. The top part went up like a hatchback. The bottom came down like a tailgate. That bottom tailgate is what I think I see.. I gave it a shot!!!!! Anyone else got a guess?
Wow this is sad i mean some of these car's get saved but most just sit there. They were once someones pride and joy adn stayed clean and nice but then just left behind to rust and slowly die away but for some of them there's hope. But it's sad that they sit there year after year after year but then just sit there and die.
what is it were trying to restore? is it the cars? or the lost vision and innocense of a culture and the singular effort of a country. . . those were brand new once. . . as were we.
If Japanese cars are so great, where are all of the 30+ year old Hondas and Toyotas out on Cruise Nights for classic cars? Everybody is welcome to come if they have a car that age but where are they?
There's A 1960 Chrysler Imperial In My Neighborhood Sitting In A Man's Yard Which Looks As Though Its Been There 40 Years,I've Asked Many Times If He Wanted To Sell It,He Always Says Im Going To Fix It Up Soon,In The Meantime She's Rotting Away,When I Could Have Already Had Her Road Ready,Such A Shame
men look at this poor cars in the palms. How long they must stand there before there are grown over like this? And why there are so many cars leaved alone? Here in germany a lot of cars go for Africa or Russia if not a freetime-mechanik works on them.

I really like those old '55 and '56 Packards. There was at least two Clippers, a '55 and '56. Also, one Senior 56 Packard as well.
Very nicely done video. Great tunes. Thanks for sharing.
This makes me think of the film Christine, awesome flick !!!
I love looking at car grave yards. I always try to imagine what was the history of the cars and wy there there right now :)
Great old cars. Several could be rescued. Looks like the videotaper has a thing for Cadillacs.

Some of those cars really are beautiful. The design of a man, and not a design of airflow machines
great old junkyard.. i with i could buy them all and help them give there life to help other cars .. sell them all ... crush only what cant be saved
That '53 or '54 Buick @4:07 has me drooling!
wonderful cars + wonderful music = wonderful video! thx for that!! :)
Excellent pictures there!!
these poor beauties. we should try to save these classics. there what made america great. someone was once proud to drive them and now look at them. just rusting metal now.
Cool cars , cool songs!
Love the Packards. I thought it was Richie Valens.
Cars from the 70's and before, where the best cars made. New cars have nothin on these classics.
Yup, mine had that feature though the rear window only rolled down about 6 inches, but that did improve airflow in car.
The name of the first song is "I Think Of You" by Rudy Grayzell. It was recorded in 1957 at Sam Phillips Sun Records Studio in Memphis, Tenn ----- Elivis Presley's first record label.
1:50 what the hell, beautiful Mustang. Now i'm crying, every photo in this vidio is sad, but Mustang and Bel Air are one of my favourite cars.
excellent video!
My Uncle is a car collector,he has a 1948 tucker Torpedo and a 1957 Cadillac Deluxe Coupe DeVille.
It's a 1964 Monterey Breezway Sedan. Rear window rolled down, a Mercury/Lincoln exclusive in that era.
1:47 is a 1964 Mercury park lane 4dr. Hardtop. It has the rare Breezeway retractable rear window.1:47 is a 1958 Lincoln in the Capri or Premiere series. The Continental Mark III has a different grill.
Wish I could own one of those cars.
man i would love to have a couple of the 55 caddy's in the start of this vid
At :50 there is a nice '59 caddy I would love to get my hands on all of them are nice, SAD to see them just rotting away
I saw a '68 Buick Electra 225 convertible that would be sooo nice if it could be restored.
Pretty much all the cars in the first 40 seconds are 50's Cadillacs.

Yes, I'd like to know the name of this song too!
That's a 1958 Lincoln. they're a difficult to restore because, believe it or not, they are unit-body cars; not full-framed.
Oh my Jewels! Where's the Location if I may ask??
i love the one at 0:32!
my dad has a 59 caddy which im glad to say is in much better shape then these poor caddys but ours is currently of the road and has been for about 16 years due to a seized engine. sadly i have never been in the car when it has moved under its own power maybe some day i will be able to get the long awaited ride in what i think a cool car.

Miss you Hassle
At 1:01 A '57 Chevy and a '57 Chevy wagon at 4:18 I hate to see any cars setting but REALLY hate to see a Trifive rotting away!
At 2:32, the car in the foreground, is a 1956 Cadillac Coupe De Ville.
Reminds me of the old cheesy films where "The Gimp" kills off stray teenagers over the years and their old cars get left behind in the field.
there is an old 1959 cadillac 4-door sitting in our meadow
oh no
the poor cars :(
but great music
Vart ligger den där skrotgårn'?
Not all old cars are restorable. When a car has rotted out floor panels and tons of missing parts, forget it...best used as a parts car.
@psyco445 I think a 1960 Lincoln Premier
1:00 is that a challenger?!?! or what is it?
I don't know what's behind the 1954 Buick, that, by the way is a Roadmaster, The four," portholes" were only used on Roadmasters,in '54. but, the car in the foreground, this is an educated guess, could be a 1951-3 Kaiser Traveler. It is a 1950 Cadillac Sixty Special.
id take em all
ill buy it from you!!
Its too bad people let classics like these just rust away. Someone needs to save them before they are just scap metal.
First Gen. '55-'57 Thunderbird at 2:54!!!
we don't have the funds to restore it. It has been sitting since 1984 my parents said.
