A good way to tell if something is absolute junk is when the website says "originally 250, now only 89.99" Quality products don't get marked down like that unless it's Black Friday or something crazy.
I am going to do a follow up review bud on the new version as well....I have been using one for a week or so and wanted to wash it first and see how it reacted ..but honestly so far it is a lot better but still not worth the money

I emailed them and asked where it was made and as soon as they told me it was Chinese I knew it wasn't worth more than about £10 for a fleece. There are loads of things like this being advertised on RUclips from torches to mini plug in heaters. All crud, Chinese rubbish. Good video, confirmed my suspicions.

I bought a couple of peter storm jackets from go outdoors recently on offer and i got three different types for £100 and they are all really good. The skinny windcheater style one is surprisingly effective with a hoodie jumper underneath. Admittedly the name transfer has come off in the wash but I've worn it nearly everyday for the last few months. And it's definitely rainproof. One of the other jackets looks like a stone island jacket in mustard with a fleece hood and that thing is toasty and looks smart.

Honestly don't it is an absolute rip of the helion one is more like the thing you want or buy a good berghaus trespass or even regatta they are at least fit for purpose. I also forgot to mention the actual fit is horrible

This was exactly the type of video I was after, so thank you. The only thing that springs to mind when trying to replace multiple layers with a single layer is a Buffalo mountain shirt, but even that needs to be layered in certain conditions, and those are made in the UK, not in China for £3
Nikwax polar proof is the best for fleeces too , water just rolls off - worth every penny n last along time even 300ml never mind the 1 litre option - best applied directly rather than put in a wash alone using polar proof btw - knowledge is power as they say 👍 I’ll pish off n get out your chat box now mate ✌️

After the ad played to me one time, I took a brief look at the product / site and quickly got suspicious that this was a dropship style product. Looks like a fairly accurate belief. And then there's the 'reviewer' ad, who's channel has a single review and no other media presence. Seems kinda sketch!
This baerskin hoodie has been advertised similar to shoes I got my mum for work to help her bad feet n being on them for upto 12hrs a day - called hypersoft womens shoes - Ud of seen the ads for them on RUclips - heavily saying they are the best shoes etc etc like baerskin hoodies but it was a mine field to find the right place to buy them from - got them tho .As for the hoodie - on ads just scan the qr code an it takes you straight to the right place to buy a hoodie from

Hi boss - I noticed the hoodie you got looks the garbage 1st 1.0 fleece and if it’s the 2.0 version it should have a sewing tape round the inside of the hood that’s either got trueswat or baerskin on the Sri h tape to to cover it up - your fleece dosent look anything like the new way better 2.0 fleece with no stitch tape/cover inside the hood and the Velcro are round on your fleece when they should be square - 8 x 5cm Velcro patches they shud be - yours look rounded ?
It’s a shame berghaus fleeces aren’t anywhere near as thick as they used to be either - I had 1 as a kid and the neck size covered upto your ears n mouth - new berghaus fleeces are garbage compared to the old fleeces too .From what I’ve read fleeces are rated in thickness from 1-300 gsm , 100 being light and 300 being thick - Baerskin are 330 gsm - grams square meter too - like I said it’s a shame
Yes the V2 is ok but the version in this review is the first one and it is terrible..and was advertised as both rain resistant and windproof and was neither..if yours has adjustable cuffs then it's the v2 ...honestly do you truly believe it's worth 70 quid ..compared to a berghaus north face jack wolfskin..
To put in the picture this is how good it was ...I ordered it in the first week of December last year it didn't arrive until the end of January and I was absolutely pissed off with the fit , quality, packaging the lot so much so I complained I got a 40% refund and still felt like I had been ripped off and that was the 70 quid price not the bullshit 140 rrp price...I live in Scotland and cycle and walk my dogs a lot ..it isn't even fot for that ...I.e where I park my car it is around 150 mtrs to my job and one time it was raining and not that heavy by the time I got to my car it was wet and holding the water so much so I could not wear it the next day as it was still wet ...when windy and if I am wearing a short sleeved t shirt I can feel the wind through it ..and so far you are the only person out of every comment on this if purchased it to be happy....but I will stress this was the version 1 not the improved version 2 which I have had 2 complimentary ones sent to me from baerskin for to do another review on them ...which will be done after I have used them for a little time ..you see that's a bit of a problem with reviews at times you only see it coming out of the box but not how the product does after some use

I would also like to ad these other facts ..the other day I wore this to my work and on the way back to the car it was raining but not heavy ...the next day I went to wear this rain resistant hoodie again and it was still wet .....so how can a rain resistant garment hold water ....simple it's not. I have worn it with a t shirt under it and if its windy I can feel the air on my arms not bad for being wind resistant. ...baerskin have also commented on this post . Not to deny or admit but just to advertise there new 2.0 version which apart from a label and adjustable cuffs looks absolutely no different...I have now also seen a false review which is them advertising this product..cory reviews and there is no such channel...I replied back to there comment saying if they were so confident about the 2.0 version then send me one and I will give it an honest review...I have not had a reply so people stay away from these products as they are not fit for purpose and certainly not tactical in any shape or form ...they advertise this as the only hoodie you will ever need ...would be better saying it's the only one you will never need
Hey Richard, We are so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Regarding the old version of our hoodie, it is indeed water repellent and not waterproof, and so it can resist water penetration only to a certain degree, but not completely. As for the hoodie being wind resistant, we must admit that there had been a few complaints about that, that’s why we made some improvements and added adjustable cuffs, an extended storm flap all the way down the length of the front of the jacket and adjustable hood toggles to prevent cold or wind from gushing through. Plus, the hoodie has added warmth with 330gm of polar fleece (the old version only had 280gm of polar fleece). Lastly, regarding Cory reviews, it is not a fake review. There is actually a channel on youtube that you can search and check. We would love for you to try and review our new version. We have made the improvements based on reviews like yours, so we are truly grateful for your honest feedback. Just compare your fleece to the new Baerskin 2.0 n compare the stitching tape inside the hood stitching - also the elastic toggles on the hood and the bottom of the fleece n ull clearly see what I’ve got isn’t a Baerskin 2.0 - Such a shame because the real baerskin 2.0 hoodies are excellent - only bad review I saw on trustpilot was 5/5 verified review that the owner said they are too warm bar that all the reviews I’ve seen for the 2.0 are good , 1st Baerskin was garbage though .I’ve bought Nikwax DWP liquid to make the fleece water proof - great stuff that goretex use on all there fabrics .Thrres an offer at the minute - 2 for £112 which is £56 per fleece - sorry for the spam - wasn’t meant boss - just trying to help u get the real deal as they are hefty n warm 👍✌️peace brother

Looks like Uve ordered from the wrong place - loads of generic clothing online now heavily advertised made in China but are sold under many brand names - so easy to hit or miss unless you do your homework to find the legit brand n not the crap

I am going tbh bud I got 2 version 2 from baerskin to try and they are way better so if this is the version 3 one you will be ok . It's just the first version that was really bad . I have been meaning to do a follow up for those ones . . I will do it today so check out my channel later today. But again there is a lot of improvements made for fit , feel , material, even the cuffs are better . And with current prices of say north face or berghaus you will be ok

My wife bought it from the official baerskin web page , we complained and was given a 40% refund it even took nearly 8 weeks to arrive as for fleece hoodie not being waterproof or rain proof yes I know but if you seen the first ads for this around 2 years ago you would know they advertised it as that . I also have a few reviews on the v2 and v3 hoodie and they are much improved but the first was absolute rubbish

Looks like shitty fleece to me. Definitely not waterproof. Edit: if its trying to say its better than layering like it is in the adverts then you know its a scam.
Hi there, our Baerskin Hoodie is indeed made of double napped 330gsm BÆRSkin™ Fleece. We chose this material specifically as it has heat-retaining properties while still remaining light and packable. As for whether it's waterproof or not, we would like to tell you that our hoodie is reasonably weatherproof - that means you get protection from wind and damp weather.
@@baerskintactical Straight from the horses mouth... Fleece makes a good base layer but its basically a porous sponge that holds no insulation when wet "reasonably waterproof" should mean that it can hold up in moderate rain for a good amount of time before it gets wet, Like a cotton waxed jacket, it wont shed rain forever but it will for a time. Not like a fleece just surviving a foggy or windy day. If it had just been advertised as a silly looking made in china tacticool fleece id have no problems, but such claims as "this will replace your jacket" and "stop layering" could be potentially dangerous for gullible people going out in bad weather.
I hope you complained straight away and got some sort of a refund . The fit , quality, no branding it is absolutely shocking nothing but a complete rip off

330msg fleece is heavy n thick - better than new berghaus fleeces as I’ve got a new berghaus and there thin n not thick like they used to be

Yes the V2 is ok but the version in this review is the first one and it is terrible..and was advertised as both rain resistant and windproof and was neither..if yours has adjustable cuffs then it's the v2 ...honestly do you truly believe it's worth 70 quid ..compared to a berghaus north face jack wolfskin..
To put in the picture this is how good it was ...I ordered it in the first week of December last year it didn't arrive until the end of January and I was absolutely pissed off with the fit , quality, packaging the lot so much so I complained I got a 40% refund and still felt like I had been ripped off and that was the 70 quid price not the bullshit 140 rrp price...I live in Scotland and cycle and walk my dogs a lot ..it isn't even fot for that ...I.e where I park my car it is around 150 mtrs to my job and one time it was raining and not that heavy by the time I got to my car it was wet and holding the water so much so I could not wear it the next day as it was still wet ...when windy and if I am wearing a short sleeved t shirt I can feel the wind through it ..and so far you are the only person out of every comment on this if purchased it to be happy....but I will stress this was the version 1 not the improved version 2 which I have had 2 complimentary ones sent to me from baerskin for to do another review on them ...which will be done after I have used them for a little time ..you see that's a bit of a problem with reviews at times you only see it coming out of the box but not how the product does after some use

No elastics round the hood or the bottom either , no stitch tape to hide the hood stitching and the Velcro pads are round n not square - the size of the Velcro is 8 x 5cm

I would also like to ad these other facts ..the other day I wore this to my work and on the way back to the car it was raining but not heavy ...the next day I went to wear this rain resistant hoodie again and it was still wet .....so how can a rain resistant garment hold water ....simple it's not. I have worn it with a t shirt under it and if its windy I can feel the air on my arms not bad for being wind resistant. ...baerskin have also commented on this post . Not to deny or admit but just to advertise there new 2.0 version which apart from a label and adjustable cuffs looks absolutely no different...I have now also seen a false review which is them advertising this product..cory reviews and there is no such channel...I replied back to there comment saying if they were so confident about the 2.0 version then send me one and I will give it an honest review...I have not had a reply so people stay away from these products as they are not fit for purpose and certainly not tactical in any shape or form ...they advertise this as the only hoodie you will ever need ...would be better saying it's the only one you will never need

We are so sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Regarding the old version of our hoodie, it is indeed water repellent and not waterproof, and so it can resist water penetration only to a certain degree, but not completely.
As for the hoodie being wind resistant, we must admit that there had been a few complaints about that, that’s why we made some improvements and added adjustable cuffs, an extended storm flap all the way down the length of the front of the jacket and adjustable hood toggles to prevent cold or wind from gushing through. Plus, the hoodie has added warmth with 330gm of polar fleece (the old version only had 280gm of polar fleece).
Lastly, regarding Cory reviews, it is not a fake review. There is actually a channel on youtube that you can search and check. We would love for you to try and review our new version. Just compare your fleece to the new Baerskin 2.0 n compare the stitching tape inside the hood stitching - also the elastic toggles on the hood and the bottom of the fleece n ull clearly see what I’ve got isn’t a Baerskin 2.0 - Such a shame because the real baerskin 2.0 hoodies are excellent - only bad review I saw on trustpilot was 5/5 verified review that the owner said they are too warm bar that all the reviews I’ve seen for the 2.0 are good , 1st Baerskin was garbage though .I’ve bought Nikwax DWP liquid to make the fleece water proof - great stuff that goretex use on all there fabrics .Thrres an offer at the minute - 2 for £112 which is £56 per fleece - sorry for the spam - wasn’t meant boss - just trying to help u get the real deal as they are hefty n warm 👍✌️peace brother

Looks like Uve ordered from the wrong place - loads of generic clothing online now heavily advertised made in China but are sold under many brand names - so easy to hit or miss unless you do your homework to find the legit brand n not the crap

I am going tbh bud I got 2 version 2 from baerskin to try and they are way better so if this is the version 3 one you will be ok . It's just the first version that was really bad . I have been meaning to do a follow up for those ones . . I will do it today so check out my channel later today. But again there is a lot of improvements made for fit , feel , material, even the cuffs are better . And with current prices of say north face or berghaus you will be ok

My wife bought it from the official baerskin web page , we complained and was given a 40% refund it even took nearly 8 weeks to arrive as for fleece hoodie not being waterproof or rain proof yes I know but if you seen the first ads for this around 2 years ago you would know they advertised it as that . I also have a few reviews on the v2 and v3 hoodie and they are much improved but the first was absolute rubbish

Hi there, our Baerskin Hoodie is indeed made of double napped 330gsm BÆRSkin™ Fleece. We chose this material specifically as it has heat-retaining properties while still remaining light and packable. As for whether it's waterproof or not, we would like to tell you that our hoodie is reasonably weatherproof - that means you get protection from wind and damp weather.

Fleece makes a good base layer but its basically a porous sponge that holds no insulation when wet "reasonably waterproof" should mean that it can hold up in moderate rain for a good amount of time before it gets wet, Like a cotton waxed jacket, it wont shed rain forever but it will for a time.
Not like a fleece just surviving a foggy or windy day.
If it had just been advertised as a silly looking made in china tacticool fleece id have no problems, but such claims as "this will replace your jacket" and "stop layering" could be potentially dangerous for gullible people going out in bad weather.
It is not a good jacket all all
