people in the guitar world just mind that yungblud is an emo rapper and not a rocker. I do not care. I play the blues and I will definitely buy this guitar
I feel like white gloss is a color that suits the SG very well. Black, Wine Red, Cherry all look nice, but White really pops. At first I felt like the scratch plate was goofy and ugly, but as I watched thru the video, it grew on me quickly. It gives a quirky vibe that is unique to separate itself from the rest of the "seen that a thousand times" typical SG guitars that are so common. I truly appreciate that there are not signature markings on this guitar. That's how it should be. The fans will know what it is, and those who just enjoy kick ass guitars will appreciate it more without having an artist name attached to it.
@Electric.Flamingo I make it a point to specifically avoid artist signature models because it sometimes pigeon holes one into being a "fanboy" . While there are certainly a plethora of artist guitars available that are absolutely top notch guitars, people tend to assume things that aren't necessarily true about said guitars and their owners.
I love Dom he is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He made sure that I was OK because I was getting crushed. My 2 guitar's with Laurel look fantastic in my opinion...they are both dark and chocolatey. Some do look light though. I absolutely hate Pau Ferro but have absolutely loved the way my Laurel boards look!
People seem to hate the price, which I am okay with honestly. People wouldn't have a problem paying over $1000 for a Gibson SG Junior, why is $600 bad for an Epiphone? 🤷♂️
@Electric.Flamingo $600 is a bit much considering Epiphone has other SGs including another model with P90s for less, but it's still less than half the price of the Gibson.
@@Electric.Flamingo hopefully it doesn't backlash, I've always had a P90 guitar on my backburner, especially since I'd get on with an SG Jr more than a Les Paul Jr since those all have the 50's necks...had a Les Paul with a 50's neck, while it was a beautiful and great sounding guitar, I eventually moved towards Telecasters and find Fender necks more comfortable with my not so large hands, so never again on a 50's neck.
Love how Epiphone has been knocking it out of the park ever since the Inspired by series. This is just another fantastic deal. Putting Gibson to shame as of late.
My thoughts exactly. The Inspired By stuff is fantastic. I played an Inspried by Gibson Custom Explorer (the '58 Korina one) months ago and I think about it often. It was soooooooooo good.
Is there much difference between the Billie Joe Armstrong Sg and this one? They seem nearly the same? I wouldn't mind having this one. Great video Thanks
I thought his was a les Paul Jr..not an SG, but yes it's quite similar in color and layout except ones a les Paul and one an SG. Unless you are saying BJA has an SG as well as his signature les Paul Jr!?!?
I'd never heard his music prior to this whole thing but I really don't get the hate. I mean, sure, it's not my cup of tea, either, but who cares? He doesn't seem to be a "force of negativity", so to speak, in the world, he doesn't appear to bother anyone and I've got to say the few songs of his I listened to were quite good for that sort of music. Plus, if this motivates younger people to start playing how could this be bad? Saying that he is not Page/Clapton is like saying we shouldn't listen to anything post Bach/Mozart etc just because they are not them. P.S.: I, also, really like the guitar, I would seriously consider it if I was shopping for a guitar right now.
@@Electric.Flamingo that’s the thing, though, apparently he is quite a big name in younger circles. My nephew is 14 years old and quite a fan. It’s a bit like that Simpsons skit with the old man yelling at a cloud. Enjoy the guitar, mate, she’s a beauty!

Oof. That's a good question. For me, I have to say the JJN simply because I dig LPs a lot. Full body thickness and all that. Not to say one is better or worse by any means, I just have better luck with LPs than SGs.

Well, I just went and checked out two Youngblud videos. I guess I watched the wrong ones, because I didn't see or hear him play guitar, and I thought his music was boring, so I don't understand why ANY guitar company would issue a signature series with his name. Am I missing something here? You said he plays guitar, what songs/videos should I check out? Doesn't matter, since, as I said, I thought his music was rather boring. Anyway, I'm NOT here to talk about Youngblud, or his alleged guitar playing. I'm here to share my thoughts and experiences concerning the Epiphone SG Jr. I bought one at the turn of the century for about $200.00 (U.S.) and I think they were on close out, as this was at the time the model was being discontinued. Mine was black, and, just like this model, it had one volume, one tone, and a dog eared P-90 pick up. I HATED IT! There was something about the way it sounds that I didn't like. I'm still under the suspicion that the body was made of graphite, and NOT WOOD. (I don't care what that guy in Canada says, the best tones come from the WOOD you use, among other cosmetics!) Mine was also a bolt on neck, but, surprisingly enough, the strap peg was on the neck, and not part of the bolt on hardware. It had jumbo frets and a medium sized C-neck. Thick, but not like a baseball bat or tree trunk. Very manageble and playable. I think the fretboard was a laurel fretboard and not mahogany, as it was a light colored wood. I haven't played it on over 20 years, but I still have it, and it's in in great condition. Maybe someday, I'll dust it off, change the strings, polish the body, oil the fretboard and play it again, but I have so many guitars at this point in my life, I'm sort of drawn to what I've been playing regularly. (Lots of off brand cheapos that are actually well built and sound good, but I'm not gonna tell you what, because I don't want to shill.) This model seems to be leaps and bounds beyond what i bought at the turn of the century. First off, this looks like it has an actual WOOD body. (Most likely mahogany, but that's a guess) It also has a very nice sound, and this is coming from somebody that doesn't really like Jr. models. (I like to be able to choose my sounds and a Jr. or one pick up guitar limits one's sound) I like the fact that it's a through neck, and not a bolt on. Also the "Kalamazoo" style headstock is a very nice touch, indeed. And I bought my guitar off the rack, but THIS model actually comes WITH A CASE! (And a very nice one, as well. It's looks quite sturdy and well built. Good and strong enough to actually protect your guitar if you accidentally drop it) From what I saw in this video, and after comparing it to my vintage 1990 something Epiphone Jr. I would suggest that people who don't like Youngblud, get over their hate, forget his name is attached to this guitar, and get one. I think it would make a good beginner guiitar, if one is so inclined to spend $600.00 (U.S.) on a beginner guitar. Otherwise, if you're just a fan of SG Jr. models, like you are, people should just get it. I mean c'mon. A collectors guitar at this price that sound this good? Do the math. I've got too many guitars, and don't need anymore, so I won't be purchasing one, but I say people should put their prejudices aside about Youngblud, and get this anyway. It seems like a bargain to me.
You really lose out with this guitar.. Just buy a two p90 pickup one and switch to the bridge pickup for this tone.. Then you will have all of the other tonal options too.. Its a no brainer.
Well, for people who maybe don't use the neck pickup at all, who do exist, this is the option for them. And all the supposed "they sound different because of less magnets pulling the stings" nonsense.
I’m surprised no one knows who he is he’s done collabs with other famous artists like imagine dragons I don’t know why have a attitude like “I don’t know him and don’t want to “ meh meh meh meh
😂 probably not, especially craigslist. You may find one on reverb in 6 months used but it won't be half priced I'm sure. You can call Sweetwater and get like %15 off, most music stores will cut deals on new stuff but Sweetwater wants you to call them and engage their sales team. I guess their sales team is that good their willing to cut big discounts up to 20% I think if you read on their website it says to call them and ask for a discount that will work.

people in the guitar world just mind that yungblud is an emo rapper and not a rocker. I do not care. I play the blues and I will definitely buy this guitar
You'll enjoy it for blues for sure!
Yung Blud is an awesome Musician . He is contemporary and has a big following ...
I understand he isn't for everyone, but you gotta respect the dude!
I love the scratch plate. Very unique! And yes, the white suits it very well!
I am a wheelchair user, but I wish the people in charge could have done something like a starter kit as well or something
More affordable because it is $600, which is like £464 as he said, he wanted to make the guitar and the music industry more accessible and less privileged
He seems like such a cool, down to earth kind of guy. This just proves that point!
@@Electric.Flamingo he really is
no doubt they will sell out of these . . . Hopefully they release more after the first 600 are burned out
I think there are some still available, but yeah, they'll go quick.
This is enticing for sure. Minus the headstock and the laurel fingerboard.
I don't mind any of it, I think it suits it well.
tbh, I love the kalamazoo headstock more than gibson´s open book. its more curvy and it looks cool IMO.
Agreed never heard of youngblood but jrs are awesome, dont want decal throw it out like you said its a jr! with set neck and hard shell case! whats not to like? hope and wish epi uses this platform to offer this in silverburst. never seen a jr in silverburst, sg with humbuckers yes seen many. Its weird i never cared for a silverburst les paul but the sg shape with color combination does something for me, probably in the minorty on that but oh well. Great upload and glad epi offers atleast this sweet white one even if we dont get any more cool colors.
Thanks for checking it out!
This is amazing. 🤩
Truly is!
i looked him up hes more hipop/pop than rock thew i most people dont know who he is its mainly a sg jr no spical thing about it with the epiphone billie joe jr you get a 50s neck and an awesome looking case so idk why he has his own signuture when ther are other more well known people out ther
He has a young fan base, so a lot of kids will pick up the guitar because of him. He does play guitar, though. Primarily a Gibson SG Junior, hence why this exists.
I just got mine and it’s total fire!
Awesome!
It lacks snob appeal is probably the reason for haters. What’s not to love about a finely made SG Jr.?
@richardnagamitsu1582 apparently a lot. "It looks cheap" is a common I have seen and I think the point is it is an affordable version of an originally affordable guitar. Seems to check out to me.
Apparently there are only 600 of these made worldwide ? wtf
That seems to be the case, yes
Looks sick af to me! Sounds good too 🔥🔥🔥
I love it. It's great having an SG Junior again!
@@Electric.Flamingo I will have one some day I hope. These groceries keepin me out of trouble 😂 I am happy to live vicariously through your guitarscipades brother. Appreciate ya.
@Sean_Plays_Guitar oh believe me, dude, I feel it too. If it weren't for some luck on trades and local sales, these videos wouldn't happy near as often. 😅 I'm happy to make them, though!
Rosewood has been back for awhile now but epiphone continues to use Indian laurel which in my opinion sticks out and is a real eye sore.
That is true. I think they may have a big supply of it and just need to get rid of it.
My 2 guitar's with Laurel look fantastic in my opinion...they are both dark and chocolatey. Some do look light though. I absolutely hate Pau Ferro but have absolutely loved the way my Laurel boards look!
I am buying it because its an SG Jr. has nothing to do with its an signature model at all😂
I'm sure that was part of the goal with no putting his name all over the guitar.
for me its like i wouldn't get it for yungblud, i would just get it because iv been waiting almost 5 years for epiphone to release an sg jr like this
I think that's the reason a lot of people would get it
People just hate Youngblood right, because he guitar is awesome right !?
People seem to hate the price, which I am okay with honestly. People wouldn't have a problem paying over $1000 for a Gibson SG Junior, why is $600 bad for an Epiphone? 🤷♂️
@Electric.Flamingo $600 is a bit much considering Epiphone has other SGs including another model with P90s for less, but it's still less than half the price of the Gibson.
@polycube868 yeah, but a Junior is just cool in it's own right.
@@Electric.Flamingo I have the lp special in TV yellow and it is fantastic! Especially with that fat neck!
They should sell them on Sweetwater with a classic red too
My wallet can't handle that right now...but yes they absolutely should.
F Yungblud. It's a Classic White SG Jr. with a Black and Pink Hard Case. Just ordered one.
@@YOSTINATOR I guess as it should it. His name isn't anywhere on it, so that is what it is.
600 new if it plays well I'll just rout it out a little and put my Dimebucker in. 😐
It plays great! That'd be cool!
only gripe I have with this release is that they didn't make a production line cherry one!
@@ethanbosotas7486 I do agree. I think that would be awesome! Love the white, though.
Is there much difference between the Billie Joe Armstrong Sg and this one? They seem nearly the same? I wouldn't mind having this one. Great video Thanks
I haven't played the LP JR myself, but I think the neck on that one is thicker. Probably the biggest difference other than the shape!
I’m thinking very seriously about buying the Yungblud.
@Yougotadollar I would highly suggest it. Great guitar!
It's because he isn't a big name in the music world and is therefore "not worthy."
I don’t like their music but I am totally buying one. Insane cheap for a legit epi sg jr without the artists name on it
Absolutely. I think that was a very smart move on Epiphone's part.
@@Electric.Flamingo I own a Kurt Cobain jaguar and that’s what makes me love it so much, it doesn’t have his name on it even though I am a nirvana fan. I think this guitar and others like it can Influence new younger players. Epiphone already released a bunch of open book headstock guitars so I don’t know why boomers are gate keeping the guitar market again
It might be one thing if it were another Les Paul signature, but an SG Jr isn’t even available - so I’m a fan. I also have no idea who the guy is or his music
That is what sold me on it, the fact it's an Epiphone SG Junior!
Not a fan of yungblud, but this guitar is unique af, at the end of the day, it's pretty hard to get an sg junior nowadays
My point exactly. And the fact his branding isn't all over the guitar is a huge plus.
I dont know who the dude is but the GUITAR is BAD ASS
IT IS!
Hey it's a Jared James Nichols SG
NICE
Basically. lol
Why only 600 made? I missed out…again!
There appear to be some left at Guitar Center if you want one!
@@Electric.Flamingo Thanks, my friend!
Which is better, Jared james or this?
Oof. That's a good question.
For me, I have to say the JJN simply because I dig LPs a lot. Full body thickness and all that. Not to say one is better or worse by any means, I just have better luck with LPs than SGs.
I guess its the Yungblood name that puts people off, he's from my town and not very popular, in fact he's disliked!
He seems like a nice enough dude. If it's just the music, don't listen to it. I just like the guitar, honestly.
When i see that guitar i think of jake e lee let's hear some shot in the dark on that thing 😎
You just proved my point that it doesn't have to be associated with just Yungblud. Thank you!
Might have to do that just because of that! ⚡️🦩
Looks like Fender found a sucker for all those pau ferro fretboards...
Nothing wrong with pau ferro!
@@Electric.Flamingo Yeah, I know it's fine wood, I just like really dark boards, and it seems like I been seeing more light fretboards on Gibson/Epi lately, while it seems Fender has gotten darker recently. I don't mean to sound dickish, hell I'd take that Epi SG Jr in a heartbeat. My only #1 guitar deal-breaker is reverse headstocks, which I should love because I'm an 80's kid...ya'll have a good1☆
A solid af SG without any bs, at 600? why tf people mat LMFAO. Dude makes decent music too.
Because they are upset that they don't know who it is, that's all. If Slash would have gotten another Les Paul signature, no one would have batted an eye. 😂
Is it possible to drop in an adjustable bridge on that guitar?
As far as a tunomatic, you would have to drill holes and install a tail piece. Unless they make a drop in replacement for a wraparound that adjusts.
@@Electric.Flamingo I mean an adjustable wraparound (they exist)
@luistijerina it should fit no problem, then!
excellent guitar..blues monster
Oh yeah!⚡️🦩
I love the guitar, just put a Gibson style headstock and custom shop P90
I think the Kalamazoo headstock actually looks nice on this. The pickup is fine as well!
@@Electric.Flamingo I would pay 999 for the upgrades I asked for. Maybe Ebony fretboard
I'm a sucker for a white guitar. I might just need to get me 1 of these.
It's certainly an eye-catcher!
I think it's awesome 🎸
I do too!
@Electric.Flamingo I would like one in army green color with black pick guard
@davidwhisenant5328 yo, siiiiiiick idea.
everything about the guitar is cool.
Except the price.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the price, honestly.
@@Electric.Flamingo OK, fair enough, I guess I forget how much prices of have gone up in recent years. £600 notes still seems a lot for a young person starting out. Maybe not, I dunno.
I'd really like one though
I'm not a fan, but I'll put money on YungBlud be ling a better guitar player than Waterpisstol Kelly. Plus, as a stripped-down SG, with a P-90, that is a pretty rad guitar. And I'm an 80s Metal dude! Epiphone has released SGs. I got an Epiphone Tony Iommi... 🤷
Nice take on it!
People need to get a life. Tasty guitar and that’s what matters.
(Lots of off brand cheapos that are actually well built and sound good, but I'm not gonna tell you what, because I don't want to shill.)
This model seems to be leaps and bounds beyond what i bought at the turn of the century. Good and strong enough to actually protect your guitar if you accidentally drop it)
From what I saw in this video, and after comparing it to my vintage 1990 something Epiphone Jr.
I hate fricker too. But wood has nothing to do with tone. Magnetics brother
It's really the speaker that matters most.
@@Ottophil Oh, you subscribe to that Canadian's channel?
@@Electric.Flamingo Only to a point. No matter how good your speakers are, it can't improve the sound on a crap guitar.
Basically.
MC=medium "c" profile neck.
Makes sense
Sweet. I'll wait 6 months and pick one up on Craiglist for half price.
Well, you gotta remember this is a limited run, only 600 worldwide. They may go up in value, depending.
@@Electric.Flamingo nah. people made the same mistake with the noel gallagher models. theyre worth less than half the rrp, plus the cost of removing his signature.
I got the Noel Gallagher signature last summer...love it!
Sg junior? Yes
White? More yes.
600 bucks with a hsc? Most yes.
Wannabe elitist guitar losers hating? Hell no.
Why they chose him is clear. Influence. Its still a business lol.
Haters gonna hate.
Bingo.
Looks cheap af. Probably overpriced though...
$600 with a hard case. Looks great to me, plays and sets up nice!
Not bad if it comes with a case I guess. Not for me though, I'm more into the flamed maple look on pretty much everything. Lol
So, i bought one and it arrived a broken piece of flimsy garbage. 👎 I don't need one bad enough to wait until December. Zzounds can s@ck it
That's unfortunate.
It's a Chinese made $600 dollar one trick pony, of course people are going to hate it..Add to that the name of a MGK wannabe and you have a recipe for disaster..
The hate is unjustified. It's a great guitar. If Gibson did the same thing with someone else, everybody would be dropping thousands on it without a second thought. 🤷♂️
@@Electric.Flamingo To you it's unjustified to others not so much..Epiphone is an import version (knock off) of a USA guitar from a company who specifically throws trademarks (shapes) around to justify Americans not being able to have Tokai,Burny,Edwards and so on while literally impeding on the American right to a free consumer market, they're literally corning the market to force purchases of their brand and that is unAmerican..Could you imagine if you went and tried to trademark a shape? Go try to trademark a circle and you'll be laughed out of the office..Sure I understand the trademark of a name but a shape? What would happen if dawn dish soap trademarked a bottle shape? Or if laundry detergent tradmarked a bottle color?
To me, it's just a guitar, dude. I like it. I'm not concerned with trademarks, shapes and the politics of it. It's just a cool guitar. 🤷♂️
It looks sooo cheap
I think it looks fine, personally. The Gibson SG Junior also looks cheap, but I guess the point is they were entry level instruments back in the day.
@@Electric.Flamingo thats a valid point, i have just ordered one as i wanted a single p90 sg
You'll enjoy it, they are something special for sure!
