Right off-the-bat with Big Mondern! we can hear how Cotter has completely found the Goose groove. In his early days with the band, he tended to be right on the beat or slightly pushing. Now he is perfectly in-the-groove. Great performance! This band has it - they are locked-in tight and can somehow crank out an amazing 38 minute jam. Some bands struggle to put out a collection of 10 songs lasting 38 minutes.
Sure, if you never saw Phish in the 90s :-). I'm loving Goose, but the comparisons are so tiresome (no different than when ppl tried to compare Phish to the Dead after Jerry died). Goose is stealing a lot of the Phish "tricks" but they are carving their own path in terms of songwriting now, and hopefully will just get better and better as the years go on. But "NO" this is not like seeing Phish in the 90s. Nothing will ever be that impressive and just completely unmatched.
@@adamweinberg1768 Was such a great time! Ahh to be young again! Always kept saying “What are they going to do next?” I always thought comparing Phish to the Dead was so off as the music was so so different.
