Teddy was having the best time helping! Owning a home can be such an adventure! LOL! Looking forward to the rose tip. Would like to know how to do that. Take care, stay warm!
I love your old house ❤ mine is 125 , I love the history, you might not enjoy your parching but it looks great, I got really excited yesterday as found a video you made 11 months ago. It showed your beautiful cat and dog. You working in the zoo. So handsome when not hidden but cap and dark glasses. I adore animals too . Had wanted to be a vet but way back you had to go to Australia and at 16 I wasn’t brave enough. I’m very greedy wanting as many postings as possible 😂. Thank you sweet Marc making my world a brighter place to live in. My darling husband of 60 years died a few years ago . I still miss him terribly. See you tomorrow my friend.

It was sunny yesterday, but today is dull and feels really cold. I am looking forward to march. I am going to buy some roses with perfume to plant. Teddy is lovely.
What you got Teddy? such a mischievous little monkey! Oh an ole int wall! Oh dear another project however have to say I love lime plaster on old walls, wishing you and Teddy well and one day it will be finished!
Hi Marc, I'm not in expert, i don't have all the details but from what i saw, the wall has move in the past or maybe, the wall is still moving but maybe it has stop to move, . I wouldn't have use the lime mortar for that job, i know it's popular in Europe on old houses in moderate climate but it's not strong, the bonding is limited, better for brick joint in your climate and maybe parging). I would have use a strong pre-mix mortar for that job, maybe even with a bit of small gravel if the gap is more than 1 inche. you can also add white glue (why not?), even fiberglass in the mix(why not?). I would use 1 bag of 30kg and mix it all in one shot, it should be enough. I would do it in one shot otherwise a bit everyday is not good, it create layer over layer, not strong, not recommanded. Total cost: more or less 10 to 20$ depending 1 or 2 bags. If the preparation is already done like you seem to have done with the chisel, it will take 30 minutes to apply the mortar. You can finish with a very lightly wet sponge, it will be easy in the corner. But you can continue with the lime mortar, the worst it will crack overtime... 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, 10 years? No idea. For reference, in Canada i would have use a mortar type S, not type N( not as strong). Good evening.
Certainly sent to try your patience but think of the big picture few years down the line youll just be smelling your lovely Rose's in your beautiful place ❤
How frustrating. Not only did you opt for your least favourite job of the day (instead of rose cuttings) but it turned out to be one of those that leads from one thing to another. That's why I hate diy. Still love that old song "there I was diggin a hole" though.

Don't you just love it when you open up can of worms like that! At least you got to play with your roses today!

Teddy quite curious.
Is the draught coming from outside or the attic ?
I expect it's coming from upstairs. 🙂
