  • I was told that you could not connect SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) enterprise hard drives to a PC via USB. So I set out to see if it was possible.
You could be like me and have 64 TB worth of drives laying around and not want to pay to replace that much Storage (it would be hundreds if not thousands of dollars for that much storage).
Or you could be a IT / Server engineer looking for a quick and cheap way to connect to SAS drives. Well as it turns out there is a solution.
I test two SAS to USB controller to see which one is better.

can you use the ANYOYO EC-5351 SAS controller as a mock temp storage and just fill up the drives with the data and then stack them for later retrieveal? a sort of offline backup ?
it seems like a good idea for long term offline storage.

Can you tell me what chipset these are using? Nobody seems to have taken one apart to show the internals yet...

I been searching for this exact thing, I got a box from eBay for cheap and couldn’t get them to work.🎉
