    • @aidenwinter1117

      You just have to learn them and know what sounds right and what doesn’t, for example носиш (you wear/carry) sounds right but носеш doesn’t because I’ve never seen it being used like that before.

    • @aidenwinter1117
      @aidenwinter1117 5 лет назад +2

      And also Bulgarian doesn’t have infinitive forms, they use the first person singular present forms as their infinitives, so if you know your first person singular present inside out chances are you’ll conjugate them correctly. The real beast is the language’s verb aspects.

      It is In E group if it ends in VOWEL + я (нея, зная); or in CONSONANT + а (NB: except Ч which is И group ;) )
      It is in the И group if it ends in CONSONANT + Я or in ча (вървя, уча)
      It is in the A group if it ends in -ам/-ям. (NB: around 70% of the Bulgarian verbs belong in this group I’m told!)

      We have 3 groups of verbs.To know in what group they are unfortunately you must know how they end in present tense 3d person singular (-e, -a or -я).

  • @sell7014
    @sell7014 Год назад +1

    If you have only the basic form of the verb (which is equal to the first person singular if I'm correct), and it ends with a я, how do you know if it's group 1 or group 2? Especially in the beginning when you don't know the third person singular?

    • @bulgarianlanguageacademy2587
      @bulgarianlanguageacademy2587  Год назад

      It's not the first person but third person you need. You have to memorise them. :) But in the s case let say you have играя play in first person and in third person играе which is 1st group.

    Is there a way to find out which group a verb is part of just by looking at it? It seems like verbs that end in a consonant would be in group 3, but I'm not sure how to distinguish between group 1 and 2 as the examples used in this video both end in 'a' or 'ya'! Thanks!
