In this episode, Gerald buys a hybrid car and buys into the whole progressive movement, moving his family from Park County, Colorado to San Francisco, California and disturbing a delicate equilibrium and indirectly causing an environmental disaster along the way. The episode acts as a play on the attitude of owners of hybrid cars, as well as the similarity between the words "smog" and "smug".

Ike had like a dozen voice actors across the seasons. If the girl is 10 now, then the math doesn't quite work, unless she started acting before being conceived.

In recent years Trey Parker has been using his daughter for Ike’s voice and there is some great footage of that on RUclips. Season 10 I’m not sure who they used.
It's kinda like that old black and white Popeye short where Bluto moved away and Popeye missed him and their fights, and so he set out to go look for him.

To chastise normal, working class people for not driving Hybrids and not taking less showers, or whatever, instead of blaming corpos, is wild to me.
It’s almost like the real reason people don’t buy hybrids is because they’re too expensive and not worth it. Getting it made cause a lot of pollution. Hybrids saving the planet are a myth.

It's not that SF is polluted, it's that it's often foggy there for being close to the sea. Oftentimes the bay area will be completely sunny with clear skies while SF has this huge fog over it. It can look quite ominous at times lol
