I'm just gonna jump out and say never in my whole life have I seen a replacement for a Disney attraction create such a massive division between fans of the parks.
These fights about whether it's good or mediocre have been intense.
Disney dug themselves into a hole with the timing of the announcements being parallel to major sociopolitical upheaval that caused major factions to develop a feud for _several years_ before construction even started.
Now that the new versions are about complete, it's the final floodgate release of all the bitterness and toxicity that's been building over the last 4 years or so, with both sides seeming to think that any concessions to the other side are impossible. The big issue is that because the ride is now such a mixed bag, both sides have valid points to make...but also refuse to objectively listen to each other's points in good faith.
Well Splash was one of the most iconic and loved rides in all of the parks.

There's so much to look at on Splash Mountain. The attention to detail created eye candy. Look at how much the person filming keeps moving the camera around trying to capture everything they're seeing. I makes you want to ride Splash Mountain in person so you can really take the atmosphere in.
In Tiana's Bayou Adventure, you can keep the camera straight, not miss a thing, and STILL see areas where the ride offers nothing to look at. the atmosphere they created is not immersive at all. It honestly feels like a cheap overlay to promote the film... (just like the Incredicoaster at DCA).
This is Disney's modern Imagineeering. Sad to see.

What a waste of time, money, space, and what used to be the world's most popular ride. Disney has officially lost its Disney. What an embarrassment.
I’m going to be honest I don’t think it’s terrible but I find it extremely underwhelming knowing they could’ve done so much better
Seriously when you enter the show building on Splash, you can literally see geese, a no fishing sign, and frogs. Now it’s all plants and Louis the Alligator.

They wasted space here, WDWs splash was specifically built to have you slowly process the scenes, and while the pacing here might be slightly better in the Disneyland version since that one goes faster, but nonetheless it’s incredibly idiotic how poorly they used the ride space here, there’s too much empty spaces that don’t help you with understanding scenes that the story starts to go all over the place, the only part of the ride that is visually appealing is the end sequence which still doesn’t make up for the lackluster trip you have to go through, embarrassing but not surprising
Wow, I thought the new ride was bad, but seeing it side by side with what it replaced makes it even worse.
I liked splash mountain better. More to see. Plus it told a story that made sense. This new thing just has a bunch of fancy special effects but no story to it.
Destroyed a perfectly good ride.

It’s weird because idk if any you guys remember but one of the “Cast Members” supposedly said there would be tributes to splash mountain I knew that wasn’t going to happen from the beginning
Technically Louis in the tree stump was a reference to brer bear in the stump but besides that there’s no other tributes to splash
At 5:35 they have new frog in the old frog's spot 😂
They are no doubt there just not spotted or found yet. The Disneyworld video is done at night so its going to be harder to pick up the details. But they are no doubt there as Disney always does this.

Every scene in Splash was well composed.
The scenes even worked if the AA's didn't.
There is no scene composition is Tiana's.
It's just AA's gesticulating at us as we go by.
No humor, no cute, fun, clever details.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure ride is a lot better than the old Splash Moutain ride because the scenery are amazing.
But has no actual substance underneath looking pretty at parts.

is it just me or does the tina Animatronics look creepy not cartoon enough to look cartoonish but not human to look human that part of uncanny that just looks kinda creepy they should have used projectors with the face like they did mickys runaway train

Got to have dread before final drop. Splash mountain made you feel like you may not make it. Thrill for kids and adults. This is where we are today with the new generation. Snowflake mentality. Should have had shadow man on final drop with “are you ready” blaring.

I was a little skeptical about the new version after what Disney has done to test track and Journey into Imagination but I have to say, well done. Disney stuck to the roots and enhanced the ride experience. Love the colors, animatronics, and vibrancy. The Louisiana feel is awesome.

It's Frozen Ever After with even bigger drops, and I don't mean that as a compliment.
Test track is getting a much needed overhaul, so it’s more on the car technology rather than tron, but still they could’ve left Floridas splash alone

The one ride being changed doesn’t make the whole park dumb- It’s one single ride. The best part is that it’s going to have plenty of years of running and maybe even more updates later! Magic Kingdom has so many amazing opportunities to see! 😊💕
Y’all looking at this side by side made me realize how trash SM used to be. Such cheap and little detail really went a long way for over 30 years. I mean, sticks and rocks alone can entertain SM stands at this point as long as they’re obviously problematic.

I think you forgot that splash mountain was made over 20 years ago, also the ride is just screens and some 2 functions animatronics, it’s so plain and adventure less. No offense
@@newworldastrology1102 it would be even worse in SM case at night. Since day one, the mountain didn’t have any lights on or around it. That area of the park used to be so dark due to lack of lighting that it was commonly mistaken for being closed. The parts of the ride that is on the outside used to be hard to see because of that issue. Day time footage did SM justice.
