Same! The iced nitro really triggered my urge to buy and I can't wait for my machine to arrive! I hope it matches the froth in starbucks or do even better
Very helpful. Thanks so much. BTW: There is now an Almond Milk for Baristas which does froth. I'm from Australia but you probably have that milk there also.
Great video thanks, it helped. I searched high and low for the "perfect" frother and whilst this is a great machine, capable of a full range of frothing, the software and recipes hold it back. It would be great to see customisable recipes, where you could select a slider from Less --> More froth. That way recipes could be adjusted to suit both the milk being used, and user preference. For example I love the Flat White and Latte Art settings, however they only deliver (to my preference) if I use full fat milk. If recipes could be tweaked to compensate for preferred milk type (in my case semi-skimmed 2% - and as you mentioned coconut and others) - it would be perfect. This could be easily accomplished with an 'in recipe' slider option, from Less --> More froth. The machine can definately do the job - the software absolutely holds it back and could be so much better with a little development. One other slight frustration is that you have to be connected to the machine within the app, to view receipes. It would be better to be able to do this away from the machine, and connect when ready. Otherwise you find yourself stood in the kitchen, trying to find new recipes. It's okay - but could be great.
Hi thanks for the video. I can't drink milk, have you tried oatly barista? Would like to know best milk alternative to use if I was going to splash out...
Hi, I love your video. I recently got this machine and the fan is constant when making anything hot but I didn't notice that happening in yours. Does the fan engage every recipe?
The Barista does 'look' cool with the whole app tie in and so on and so forth - but (UK prices here) comparing £60.00 ($75) for an Aeroccino4 vs. £179.00 ($220) for a Barista... I just don't think it seems worth it, really?
How does the Barista compare with the Aeroccino frother (again, from Nespresso)? Apart the fancy programming, does it offer any real advantage? I'm asking because the Barista looks fantastic, but I already have an Aeroccino (which I love) which does an excellent job at frothing milk, both hot and cold, at 2 different levels of "frothiness"
We don't have the Aeroccino, but if it suits your needs, then we'd recommend keeping it. The Nespresso Barista has some extra recipes and tons of different levels of froth, but probably not worth the extra $$ in the long run for you. Maybe when the other one dies? :)
Hi, the Barista is not a milk frother and is not designed to froth milk to the same degree as an aeroccino. The whisk is a different size, shape and construction so will not generate the same amount of air in the froth as the aeroccino. BUT, for that price it is a shame Nespresso couldn't come up with a way of frothing the milk to the same degree as the aeroccino with an extra setting on the Barista.
We've tried everything possible to use the steamer and can never get the milk as frothy as the Nespresso Barista, especially on a consistent basis. We've watched all the RUclips videos and tried everything! It's also more difficult to clean on a regular basis.
If they canmot spell "macchiato" why should I expect their machine to prepair it correctly ? It's poorly designed - I'm told the aeroccinos are better (and with no spelling errors ...). Want a macchiato ( milk -stained)? Prepair a nice cup of eSpresso and pour a few drops of milk in it.. Done in 2 minutes.
I just bought this machine and I like it a lot😍 I think it’s the best thing from Nespresso... but no... I love my Coffee-machine Vertuo too❤️ So about barista machine: it makes really great froth. I have also Aeroccino by Nespresso, but I enjoy more when I use Barista machine.
Niall M if you will use the whole milk with a fat content of 3,2% and a protein content of at least 3 %, you can buy Smart Barista Machine, semi-skimmed milk or skim milk will not give a good foam. And you need to use cold milk - for good foam. I better like Smart Barista, it gives very good dense and flexible foam, its height depends on the recipe, I love how the machine makes it! From Aeroccino foam is good too, but it’s more dry.
So true about the steam wand, we have one at home too but it's so serendipitous to get it right we just quit using it. In all fairness, even Italian baristas sometimes mess it up and give you the odd flat cappuccino - aka breakfast horror story :)
@@niallm1699 We have an Illy Iperespresso coffee machine so unfortunately I have no opinion on this one, I was considering to purchase it though for our second home (my husband and I work in two separate cities)
In the UK, where I am a lot of people write 'Expresso' which is similar. But is it right that people in the US say 'Carmel' instead of 'Caramel' (car-a-mel)? Or is it just this lady?
@Charles Aldous In the US, like other places, we have different accents and pronunciations depending on region, schooling and social class. It’s a big country. Espresso is the correct pronunciation, as is car-a-mel. If you want to hear something really funny go to the South in the US and get someone to say espresso. The deeper south the better. “Shew we got dem expressoh beains goin’ and we gonna have some hot exxpressoh”. I’ve gotten used to it being pronounced wrong here. Now if you really want a laugh get people in different places to say “ikea”.
They said " helps save a ton of money" ... explain how spending nearly $200.00 saves anyone a ton of money. You can buy a high quality hand held milk frother for less than $10.00 and get better, more consistent results! Did the reviewer really spend $200.00 of their OWN MONEY???? If so they are really dumb!
Yes, we did spend our own money. We've tried the $10 milk frothers and they were not nearly as good as the Nespresso Barista. Maybe we are doing it wrong! :) We saved money by using this...not going to Starbucks.

Stef B yes, it does turn on when making hot recipes.
I bought Barista a year ago and since March, it can't connect with my iphone 11 app, i'm so dissapointed with Nespresso
love my nespresso coffee machine but i was so disappointed by this pile of overly expensive junk, u could get more foam with a ten quid wand foamer.
America doesn’t drink coffee they drink coffee flavoured sugar Jesus syrups sugar
Can this machine make more silky/foam milk so you can make latte art ? I have Aeroccino 4 and the milk gets to foamy cant do art with that....
That's a good question! I don't know, to be honest with you. I'm not a latte artist - but it does make the most foamy milk I've ever seen.
It doesnt. Pretty much no milkfrother does unfortunetly at least to the standard ud want as a barista
Informative video, but I still don’t get to that point why people call it expresso machine when it’s called espresso. Like in the name nESPRESSO
