I still think a split of SCHD + QQQ is the way to go. 100 stocks in each ETF gives you 200 companies. also no overlap with these 2 funds. 85/15 or 80/20. Personally I put down 1.3m$ on few ETFs, still diversifying. This is Q4 definitely earning season, it was this time last year I made my first million with a liquid 200k. Invested it in a trader here in CA, I get weekly pay out which I invest back on long term ETF's. Google will be a huge buy for me when the market bottoms.

One word homie. Gatorade, guys that work out in the summer absolutely depend on it. There are some competitors. But even I will dose up on the Gatorade 3 times a day to m the summer. My Pepsi slipped a bit today. But I have no intention of ever selling. I might get some SBUX this next payday.
I love the stock. Been slowly adding and holding since 2021. It's the type of stock you just want to add too little by little. . Gatorade is big, but they own so much more. They're a true monster company when it comes to food and beverages.

ABsolutely buy in a regualr broerage acount. You have to pay taxes so what, would you rather earn 100000 and pay 20000 capital gain tax....or earn nothing?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Over here in Germany my broker offers 4% on the non invested money. So I see no reason to buy stocks in the current market situation. The only exection I make is for KO ( we share the same thought here that this is day by day product that people will buy. So I dont see much risk for the company even in hard times and falling stock prices)

Yan, now it's the best time to sell OTM calls (30 Deltas) on KO, PEP shares, and other companies you hold in your portfolio. You don't be scared if the call become 'In The Money. Just roll for a credit to another 30 Deltas call option, far away in time. I sold now on each US stocks ATM calls again to lower my overall purchasing price even further because the premiums are now richer.
Now that I care about the dividends than the price, the recent downturns this year are all opportunities! I guess I learnt something in the last few years! Maybe I’m not the average investor any more?!
Already "leapfrogged" $WU last month (increased their position up to $500 cost)... Going to do the same for $O and $MO tomorrow... $JNJ will get the "typical" monthly injection of funds and the remaining $125 ish will be spread out among the lowest 5 laggards
Do, or would, you turn off DRIPS in stage 4 to hold onto for when things go on sale? Or do you maybe just redirect them into ancillary positions? Also, would it help you to have the acceptable max buy price for a specific stock, that you derive from dividend discount modeling, in your spread ssheet to know when a stock is in the acceptable buy range instead of using the 52 week high? It's seems like it would be a faster way of knowing.
Always adding to PepsiCo occasionally. And more recently.SCHD as well which has around 4 percent of PepsiCo. The dip is definitely nice. But I think there is more room for it to go down. Of course I can be wrong and the market doesnt go down much more. But I could also see a moderate to bad recession happening too. I'll try to detect the bottom the best that I can I guess.

In contrast to the 3 options provided, and I know you recently started buying it, but it's been in my portfolio for about 2.5 years, SCHD with 3.7%, 10 CAGR of 13%, and it's 10$ or 13% off it's 52week high wouldn't be a better choice than all 3.
That's what I've been doing. I sell my individual stocks on market rips and buy SCHD when the market dips. It is now my biggest holding. You get a greater return with less risk with this ETF IMO. I'm also buying DGRO and DIVO.

I’ve been averaging down in a couple key positions, trying to reduce my cost basis as I build my position size. I’ve raided discretionary and other buckets to deploy even more and owe myself money at this point.

@ppcian - I like your risk analysis of factors like for CLX (we have been buying generics for years now as their technology is not exactly rocket science - moat etc.). Another factor that is always on my mind is total returns - what if the underlying stock declines significantly compared with its dividends? Would it make sense to qualify purchases with some indication that the price reality has shifted to the upside? (yes, I know this sounds like market timing, yet perhaps this is a consideration?)
Stick with JNJ. I have MRK and sold out OGN after spin off. I have GSK and sold out HLN. Keep the pharmaceutical portion and stay away from the retail portion
MAIN's full-year Zacks Consensus Estimates are calling for earnings of $4.10 per share and revenue of $498.13 million. These results would represent year-over-year changes of +24.62% and +32.18%, respectively.
4:52 Step 3 is often not a full solution to the problem, it is often a partial solution, or no real solution at all, just that something becomes accepted as the new normal. Sometimes the problem in Step 1, was not a problem at all, it was something that people imagined being a problem. And often the problem is much smaller than what people imagined it would be, and the reaction to the problem has worse consequences than the actual problem. And sometimes the perceived problem was the opposite of a problem. E.g. here in Sweden, during the 1920's to 1980's, every time a left majority government was voted into power, the stock market made a dive, and every time a right majority government was voted into power, the stock market made a jump. Unless there was some severe external interference (WWII, oil crises, global financial collapses, acid rain from continental Europe (during the late 1980's, when our trees stopped growing and started dying, because of more coal-fired power plants in East & West Germany, Poland, UK et&, lumber and paper production was still vital to our economy), et&), within a year, the stock market would go back to the previous levels. Since Sweden and Swedish companies (during this period) always thrived during left leaning governments, especially if a left leaning majority was reached for two consecutive elections, the stock prices would grow faster during those left leaning governments, and dividends grow. During right leaning governments, the growth of the Swedish economy (during this period) always slowed down, or even declined, and the stock market quickly followed (the stock market is usually quicker to react to a, real world, bad situation, than to a, real world, good one). Since the 1990's, since people owning Swedish public stocks, is no longer dominated by right-wingers, stock price reactions to electing left leaning governments is less pronounced (it used to only be 3% of the Swedish population owning public stocks, but popularity started to grow in the 90's, and now 25% of the Swedish population own public stocks (which is still much smaller than the more than 60% of the population owning public stocks in the USA)).
I buy because Treasuries have an expiration date, whereas my yield-on-cost for dividend growers can eventually surpass Treasuries and keep growing in perpetuity with no expiration date. It depends on investment time horizon. Discussed in video a bit. (Disc: I’m long Treasuries)

Yeah that's the crux of it, in 10 years will SPY still crush any return of the dividend or blue chip stocks. Investing ina 2 fund portfolio beating everything else and just DCAing without looking at any of it more than a few times a year.
@@kinghenry8615 PLASTIC does not compost, landfills are not compost. If you believe that, you are fooling yourself, which seems to be the favorite way to deal with facts these days.
Hot take but way I see it dividends will have to adjust to a high interest rate environment where a treasury bill can use 5.6% in the short term at least, and with no risk.
Obviously these are YOUR favorites, but there are many like it better or worse too,, but just to say KO is better then PEP, you can get 3 shares compared to 1 share of PEP and with a slightly better yield .. and KO is more world renowned then PEP.... they are both good,,,but for me KO is better,,,,

I'm a huge fan of SCHD, for sure. I do expect to add more in the market downturn. (Disc: I'm long SCHD)

4:52 Step 3 is often not a full solution to the problem, it is often a partial solution, or no real solution at all, just that something becomes accepted as the new normal. Sometimes the problem in Step 1, was not a problem at all, it was something that people imagined being a problem.
And often the problem is much smaller than what people imagined it would be, and the reaction to the problem has worse consequences than the actual problem.
And sometimes the perceived problem was the opposite of a problem. E.g. here in Sweden, during the 1920's to 1980's, every time a left majority government was voted into power, the stock market made a dive, and every time a right majority government was voted into power, the stock market made a jump. Unless there was some severe external interference (WWII, oil crises, global financial collapses, acid rain from continental Europe (during the late 1980's, when our trees stopped growing and started dying, because of more coal-fired power plants in East & West Germany, Poland, UK et&, lumber and paper production was still vital to our economy), et&), within a year, the stock market would go back to the previous levels. Since Sweden and Swedish companies (during this period) always thrived during left leaning governments, especially if a left leaning majority was reached for two consecutive elections, the stock prices would grow faster during those left leaning governments, and dividends grow. During right leaning governments, the growth of the Swedish economy (during this period) always slowed down, or even declined, and the stock market quickly followed (the stock market is usually quicker to react to a, real world, bad situation, than to a, real world, good one). Since the 1990's, since people owning Swedish public stocks, is no longer dominated by right-wingers, stock price reactions to electing left leaning governments is less pronounced (it used to only be 3% of the Swedish population owning public stocks, but popularity started to grow in the 90's, and now 25% of the Swedish population own public stocks (which is still much smaller than the more than 60% of the population owning public stocks in the USA)).

Why would you buy stocks with yields below treasuries and even money markets?
I buy because Treasuries have an expiration date, whereas my yield-on-cost for dividend growers can eventually surpass Treasuries and keep growing in perpetuity with no expiration date. It depends on investment time horizon. Discussed in video a bit. (Disc: I’m long Treasuries)

The SPY growth etf seems to be performing better over the last 30 years.
Yeah that's the crux of it, in 10 years will SPY still crush any return of the dividend or blue chip stocks. Investing ina 2 fund portfolio beating everything else and just DCAing without looking at any of it more than a few times a year.

Hot take but way I see it dividends will have to adjust to a high interest rate environment where a treasury bill can use 5.6% in the short term at least, and with no risk.

Obviously these are YOUR favorites, but there are many like it better or worse too,, but just to say KO is better then PEP, you can get 3 shares compared to 1 share of PEP and with a slightly better yield .. and KO is more world renowned then PEP.... they are both good,,,but for me KO is better,,,,
These 3 stocks are not on Sales, they are at their fair value historically. 10-20% less then I might be interested.
