Another quick trip over to Hoy

An overnighter at Heldale at the weekend.
Slow as ever but still producing a decent fish.
Lost an absolute donkey of a fish!
The one that got away (again) 🙄
My own fault, 3 shakes so violent I actually froze, and when I did get my shit together I set the hook into fresh water 😕
char patterned Seekers (savage gear)seemed to be the Lure again.
This loch may be a bit dour, but there's always the chance of that specimen.

solid fish mate,striking colours and on the old seekers again, and that loughs amazing looking, have you ever tried the sickleblades by savage gear they look amazing on the retrieve 2 but the only down is there a tad light for the long casts

They are a bit light for me, but a pal of mine had a fish just under 6lb on one a few weeks ago.
Might be worth a look as things start weeding up.
I've just started painting up a few zerlings now to tweak them for the Brownies (I'll let you know how that goes)👍

@@povfishingorkney if you can deal with the bombardas mate they fish well with those but personally speaking i detest the friggin things ive been arsen about with them for about 8 years now and i dunno they just dont flick my switch

I'm quite happy to plug away with the big zerlings and seekers just now.
I'm seeing big fish and plenty of them.
Boys I've seen using the bombardas don't really seem to report much to get me excited?
My last video (Rousay 5 ) was in the middle of a heatwave with a lot of angler's having problems.
I was plugging away as normal 🤣🤣
This last hoy trip produced the take of a lifetime but I didn't get him set 🙄
But Alex did have an absolute cracker on the stickleblade and I know he does use the bombardas.

Cracking video Damien! Out of all the Savage gear line thru lures, the stickleblades have had me more action than the rest by a long way. Had twa 3 good ones in Clumly on them now. Fast retrieves with lots of pauses seems to do the trick 🎣👌
