Not only is Ray Chen a violinist, he made a cameo in the show - he was the one playing violin on stage in the opera scene :)

The animation directors also appear as three drunk dudes celebrating Progress Day in Episode 4, Imagine Dragons and J.I.D. appear as a band and rapper at the Last Drop in Episode 5 fittingly entitled "Everybody Wants To Be My Enemy" as well as in the "Enemy" music video which shows the events leading up to Powder and Vi`s falling out in Episode 3 and along with some deleted scenes from the show in the "Breaking the Rift" making of series strongly suggesting the sisters` conflict was not as abrupt as the canon of the show initially makes it appear and that the two`s relationship was always in fact a fragile love-hate one at best that Vi would later idealize to the contrary to cope with her guilt for abandoning Powder and most notably Miyavi voices the Chem-Baron Finn who makes two failed attempts to overthrow Silco and is killed by Sevika for it.
And the artist MIYAVI from Snakes plays the gold jaw guy.

Ray Chen is a not just any violinist, but one of the most famous soloist playing a Stradivari violin (which was used in this production btw, a bit of fun fact), also he made a cameo in the show (without spoilers: in the Concerto)
The second they mentioned a 20 million dollar violin, my heart sank. I thought my 2k one was expensive but I don't have god like talents to afford that lol

I can't say I'm familiar with him, but I've always wanted ro learn how to play violin, it just seems so calming. I played clarinet in hightschool and got pretty good at it, but there's just something about the violin that just seems so magical, I can't help but want to learn.
The soundtrack gives you life. But watch the show and you'll definitely be dying of heartbreak man. I love this.

For those of you that don't know what songs play in what scenes, I got you
*(SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T FINISHED ARCANE)*
What could have been: This song plays at the end of the season, after Jinx kill's silco and fully becomes Jinx. The whole sequence that comes afterwards from Jinx getting ready to fire the rocket at piltover, to the council agreeing to grant undercity independence, and it helps end the season on that massive cliffhanger
Snakes: Plays when Vi comes in and starts to fight in the shimmer factory alongside Jayce, and ends when Jayce accidentally kills the son of the baroness, who was working at the factory
Guns for Hire: plays in episode six, starting as an instrumental when Vi is talking to silco, and the lyrics and chorus coming in as Jinx Lights the flare. It continues playing for one of the best scenes in the whole show (My opinion)
Playground: Plays in episode one, and serves as our introduction to the undercity after Vi, Powder, Mylo, and Claggor come back from their failed robbery

Finally someone else recognizes Woodkid’s absolutely amazing talent. His way of writing lyrics and singing is just so personal and sensual. I can’t ever get enough of it. I definitely wanna see bigger RUclips channels react to his music, not just Guns for Hire or Run Boy Run solely (even if they’re great songs lol).
They wrote these songs to picture, and I'm convinced that this restriction made them better. It forced them to get creative with the structure of the songs, which make them so unique and memorable, as a result! I hope more shows/movies follow suit on this!!

What do you mean writing them to picture? Do you mean they were created after the animation was done?
@@lucyandecember2843 in normal music production for tv shows or animations, composers create music separately to the picture and they add the music to the shows via post production through editing, but for Arcane, the composer compose the music with the animation scene in mind so the music is written for that particular scene and the drops, bridges of the music matches the animation scene very well.
Some people here in the comments already suggested it but you should definetely listen to Dynasties & Dystopias, Goodbye and Misfit Toys! They're also from the Arcane OST and they're AMAZING

I really can't express enough how much better that Sting song is in context with the scene. Just an absolute masterclass ending. Other shows need to take note at what Arcane does.

Something Arcane did that everyone should do is that the team in charge of picking the featured songs was the same that did the background music. Therefore they did some amazing accompanying bgm that worked for the songs and to enhance them in the show.
The songs weren't even "picked", they were written specifically for these scenes. I think Snakes was an exception where they let PVRIS do their thing. There's a Bridging the Rift episode about it, really cool to see.
It's so much better this way. I'm getting soo frustrated with 95% of shows out there (especially anime) with unbelievably great soundtracks and just awful opening music. It's so jarring to hear some generic, awful J-POP in the opening credits when the rest of the soundtrack (and vibe of the series) is something totally different. There is only a handful anime openings that I felt fit the series well.

Like for real! Dynasties and distopias is my all time fave in the entire soundtrack!! I was so waiting for him to react to it, but my heart sank when the video ended without him reacting to it.

Listening to the soundtrack alone is an emotional trip entirely separate from the show itself, but knowing the context of the songs definitely helps. It’s literally so good, it’s quickly become a comfort album of mine. What Could Have Been and Guns for Hire especially
I have to agree with you there, the songs alone are awsome enough as it is, but pair it with the scenes that it was meant for and it completely hits differently. The guns for hire scene literally made my heart ache because of the emotion of the song and how well it fit the scene. Ugh 😩 it was so good I almost cried😢.😄😁
This soundtrack is unbelievably good! The show on it's own is fantastic but the soundtrack definitely elevates it to a whole new level. Really hope you do a part 2 for the other songs from Arcane!
Arcane was such a brilliant mix of astonishing animation, dynamic characters, heartbreaking plot, and *non-stop musical brilliance*. Honestly the songs for this show are all bangers. Of the songs you didn't feature here, the one I liked the most was "Goodbye". The repeating refrain at the tail end of the song might be a bit much for some people, but for me it perfectly encapsulated that feeling of being emotionally stuck in a moment, unable to break free.
I’m guilty of not listening to soundtracks in media, I played through the whole of no mans sky with out giving the music a second thought but on my second play through I have atleast 5 extra hours of playtime of me just walking around listening to the absolutely fantastic music.
Still waiting on that SheRa Soundtrack reaction. Especially if you enjoy atmospheric, ethereal orchestrations than SheRa is for you.

Arcane has such wonderful songs. However, "What We Could've Been" and "Guns For Hire" are my favorite ones out of the whole soundtrack. Everything about the two songs gives me shivers up my body, the Stings performance actually made me cry. It's just amazing.

a part 2 is a must there's so much good music in this show
The fact that the music was all bespoke to the animation and scene is wild. I can listen to the soundtrack and score and know exactly where we are in the show. The fact that you engaged with the show but the music didn't distract you from it is pretty great. Lots of folks harp on the Imagine Dragon's main theme and while I am not a particular fan by episode three I was singing along. Alex/Mako does some great breakdowns of the music and his part in putting it together. Some amazing work from all involved but hearing Alex's early temp vocals and seeing like all the stems and such in LogicPro is dope.

2:06 sorry mostly off topic to the video but the og song (that whatcha say samples) is hide and seek by imogen heap and it's really good !!!! if you specifically like that vocal effect and that part of the song. i will never pass up a chance to promote imogen heap lol
also im going to recommend the finding paradise ost for strings!! so much cello its so good
The vocal effect you’re thinking of (during what could have been) is a vocoder! Imogen Heap actually made her own kind of vocoder to record the song you were thinking of! She coded gloves to be able to use where she can basically paint the air to change how it sounds
The Police was a very long time ago. If you listen to Sting's later songs (say, the last 20 years or so), you can understand why they thought of him for "What Could Have Been". It's exactly his style, he could almost have written it. And much to the show runners' surprise, he agreed to do it! They thought it was a wild shot and didn't really think it would happen. 🙂
If you're looking for more songs with strings included, some cool main themes to listen to are the professor layton ones. The games have really good stories, cutscenes and even a great movie

Comment 282!! Miyavi is actually a japanese rock LEGEND!! He's a guitarist, singer, and actor (most notable film was him playing the antagonist in the movie "Unbroken"). The thing about Miyavi is that I don't play guitar. I play a little but very much a beginner stage, but Miyavi makes me appreciate the instrument much more!! One fun fact is that he doesn't necessarily strums the guitar but slaps it. He slaps the guitar so chuu would see him (if chuu ever look him up) with long nails and those nails actually help him create certain sounds with his guitar.

Reasons why this show is my favorite show:
1. The animation and everything visually is beyond words stunning.
2. The music is equally as stunning and thought out.
3. The writing is phenomenal and left huge impressions on me.
4. The voice acting left equally a huge impression, and it was a few of their first-time voice acting gigs.
5. The character design is very well thought out in correlation to the originals.
6. The world building is so incredibly enthralling.
Lastly,
7. The touchy political subjects weren't overwhelming, and the show was still incredibly enjoyable.
