Both are brand new software for me, i will go with the software whichever you would recommend. Which one is better? Just for context, I am just picking up on this hobby and as i write this comment, i am waiting to receive my astro equipment. I have only done Milky Way photography (without any stacking) in Astro with my mirrorless camera.
Hi Nick, Have you tried un-linking RGB channels on that first STF stretch? I find it eliminates the green cast so saves a bit of time in having to use SNCR. Maybe there are some downsides but I haven't seen them
I haven’t tried that actually but I’ll give that a go. I just use SCNR which removes the green with a click of a button but I’ll try your method too and see if it makes a difference. Thanks!
Do you prefer DSS or PixInsight for stacking? Or other software?
Pixinsight takes stupendously long...

As a beginner who is picking up on this hobby, this is one very helpful tutorial for me. Thanks for sharing.
